March 2024 by Jeff T.
I used this place in 2017 & they were great (5 stars). However, I went by at 10 am on 3/19/24 (to give them more business) & they were closed. Called the listed phone number & got a voicemail for the business telling me to leave a message, but that was followed by "mailbox is full." I just talked to the Tint Shop next door & Milton's IS still in business but keeps very irregular hours. I still hope to contact the owner as the prior work was really good & very reasonable. If successful, I will update my review.

To start off I really wanted to make this work, but after many push backs, I think I'm done and I'm just going to write my review. 7/15/2023 I had purchased some Recaro seats for my personal vehicle and they needed some work, mainly on the bolsters as it appeared maybe a dog took a chunk out of them. I should have looked around some more, but Milton's Auto Upholstery was just 10 mins away from me. Coolio. ill just bring them over and have them refinished. I didn't want just the bolsters to be redone, i wanted both seats to be refinished. I asked basic questions fabric material, build time, has there been others with Recaro seats that have been reupholstered there as well. Funny enough he points to them and says the customer never came to pick them up... Which is the direction im headed now. Originally the build time to my seats to be completed was in August of last year. Alright cool, build time should only be a month or so, a few weeks on top if needed. im in no rush. 8/2023 come time the end of August I go to his shop and see what's been going on, Nothing. I was told it was waiting on a shortage of materials from their distributor. Alright, no biggie. lets set another date for these to be completed and picked up. 9/2023 I decide to drop by and see how progress is coning along, they've moved around from the original location i placed them down at but nothing as of yet has been worked on. I was told that the fabric wasn't any good and I was recommended a different one. New build date set for the end of October. 10/2023 I try to call numerous times to see how progress is coming along, mind you im already 2 full months into this. and I'm told its going be early November. Im rather patient and I understand that artisans need time to be able to apply their skills, so i wait. 11/2023 November rolls over and I try to get status updates on how the seats are coming along. calls no longer go thru and I attempt to visit the shop and he's not there during open business hours. I've talked to the neighboring business to see where he may have gone, but was told that he is in and out of the shop on Saturdays. follow up that following week and I am once again told another excuse and it will be completed before the end of the year. Coooool. 12/2023 December swings by and my patience has been tested. I go to the shop and chat a little with Milton and I offered to pay for whatever the cost of the materials he's already gotten for my seats and ill just take it to another shop. I did notice that the seats bolsters were off, so I assumed some progress is being done. so we come to an agreement that it will be complete by the end of January. 1/2024 Happy New years! Entire month of radio silence. 2/2024 its now the end of February and March is just around the corner. Its been about close to 8 months now from the time ive dropped off the seats until now. Within 7/8 months ive been waiting, learned financial literacy, had my birthday, celebrated my dogs birthday, purchased a new car Lost friends, gained new ones. At this point im chalking it up to a loss. My seats are still there in unknown condition, but i think im going to have less of a grievance just buying new Recaros rather than taking back my old ones. I don't know Milton personally, but at this point I don't think I will be returning for my seats and will be taking a loss on them. Truthfully I didn't think it be as long as a process as it is. Unfortunate for both parties, but do diligence wasn't done on my part and the 1st choice isn't always the best or set in stone. overall experience...Overwhelmingly disappointed.

Needed someone to fix an armrest in my daughter's car. The upholstery ripped. Living in Las Vegas I called milton and told him I was coming out to California to visit. He had the piece ready for me within 2 days. I was really happy with repair and service given. He did a great job. I recommend Milton's upholstery to anyone that is looking for a business you can trust. Thanks again milton!!

I had a disappointing experience with Milton's Auto Upholstery. While they initially seemed promising, their engine detail left my car with water damage and triggered multiple check engine lights. What was even more disheartening was their unwillingness to take responsibility for the damage. The owner's attitude was a significant issue. He came across as incredibly rude, unpleasant, and displayed an uncaring demeanor throughout our interaction. This lack of accountability and poor customer service overshadowed any potential benefits of their services. I would caution others to be cautious when considering Milton's Auto Upholstery for their car needs. The overall value of the detail was overshadowed by the cost that it is going to take me to have my alternator, battery and electrical wiring looked at and possibly replace. I would advise that if you feel the need to have your engine polished- remember that what truly matters is on the inside of the engine and not the polished exterior. Milton's has a polished exterior, but deep inside they do not care about their customers and are incredibly rude about their faults. Accidents happen, it would be great if they took responsibility for their mistakes instead of getting defensive about it.

Leather seats in '09 Camry were coming apart at the seams. Milton made them look brand new again. He also fixed a couple other issues outside the agreed upon work. Great prices. Highly recommended!

This guy is amazing! He replaced the headliner in our 2012 Honda Accord for half the price I was quoted from an outfit in Laguna Hills. Six months later I dropped in for what should have been an easy fix on a replacement sun visor. Without hesitation, he started as soon as I showed up, and spent an hour in the hot sun before the bracket would cooperate to make it as strong and secure as the original.

I used Milton's to fix a tear in my car seat. He came highly recommended from the car wash gentleman. I had to leave my car there for about 24 hours but boy did he do a great job. Even though as a disclaimer he mentioned the seat might not be 100% match, the job done was above 100%. The area with the tear looked brand new and blended with the car seat perfectly. Setting up an appointment was easy as I got a rough estimate through text. But remember that he is busy so you might have to make an appointment in advance. But overall did an amazing job and I highly recommend!

Milton did a fantastic job replacing the perforated leather seating surface on the drivers side bucket seat in my 2016 Mazda 3. It looks just like new. In addition to the repair we had agreed upon, Milton fixed a small tear in an adjacent portion of the seat at no additional cost. Service above and beyond! Very pleased with the workmanship and very fair and competitive price. I highly recommend.

My MB E350 seat looks great! Milton was able to perfectly match the beige leather and repair the big tear in the middle of the driver seat of my car. Excellent job, quick service and a very fair price. Thank you!!!
