A great place to get some last minute gifts or souvenirs, not to mention a pretty good selection of reading materials and snacks. Today I got a cute California hoodie and a hat for a gift. The check out process was smooth and the cashier was very friendly, she also had a great sense of humor. Thanks for making me smile! I will be back

Not your average convenience store. Plenty of souvenirs of whichever area you find one in. Most airports in the U.S. have at least one of this store somewhere in their terminal building. WARNING: some items are marked way up here. Example: Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds. Local grocery stores in Orange County sell them for $10 per 12-ounce bag. Here they’re over $13! Next time I fly, I think I’ll get my snacks before I even go through security so that I can save.

This Hudson News is now South Coast News. Same idea. Same stuff. Same ridiculous prices. Decided to pick up a magazine (remember them?) and read it while waiting for the flight, and on the plane as an alternative to this tiny screen. I had almost forgotten the enjoyment of holding an actual periodical and turning its pages. Funny the little things we give away to technology. Maybe never missed. Maybe the things that tie the generations together.

This review is for the tiny "newswall" near the information booth by the John Wayne statue. It doesn't seem to have its own listing. The cashier snapped at me when I tried to be polite and find out if it was OK to come in and get a drink while she was apparently doing some inventory/stocking... just the kind of grouchiness you need after getting off of an early-morning three-hour airplane flight. Excuuuuse me for being a thirsty potential paying customer while you happen to be doing your precious little inventory. Somebody obviously needs to go back to customer service 101 class and learn how to be warm and friendly and smile. So I just said "never mind" and took my business elsewhere, far far away. I am never coming to this "newswall" again for as long as I live.

They only sell water & periodicals, and the price is horrible. Additionally, they have no clue where soda or other products can be purchased in the Airport. They're not helpful, they're over priced, and not worth the trouble.

They charge about $3.00 for a bottle of water that typically sells for about $1.00 just about anywhere else but the airport. Naturally, water is one of the things travelers are not permitted to bring past security at the airport, and the prices of other things are not similarly jacked up. It seems like price gouging to me pure and simple, and I resent it every time. I hope there is a special place in hell for the members of Hudson News' management.
