They cancelled my reservation the day of my move, which I scheduled a month in advance. They then neglected to cancel it on their end, resulting in a $75 no show fee being charged to my card. Had to call corporate to get a refund- enjoy the 5 day interest free loan. I wonder how many people didnt check their bank statements and had their cash taken in the same manner. Sounds like fraud to me. Can't say it's all on the location since Budget corporate doesnt let them refuse reservations that they obviously dont have the capacity for. If the reviews on this page are anything to go by, things have been this way for a while. Overall the company operates on pulling scams like this and somehow the market isn't self-correcting enough to put them out of business. Hope whoever reads this does their part and stops using Budget so they can finally see some consequences for their mismanagement. I managed to get a Home Depot van that cost half the price for the day.

Had the worse experience ever, I reserved and payed on line I get to the location to pick and Jason tells me we don't have the car you had requested and tells me I have a van for you, the van was fealty dirty, facemasks on the flor a dirty dipper wipes on the dash board, food wrappers all over the back seats. They charged me close to $600.00 (5days) even though I had reserved on line with deferent rates. Called customer service and there service is as bad as the car I got. I would not recommend this place at all.

Made reservation for 12 as that was earliest time I could pick up showed up at 12:03 lights off door locked. Seriously bad business I see I'm not the only person this has happened too. Very disappointed :(

ii had the modt horrible experience. instead of 355. i payed 800. they said i ruined the car in actuality i had it detailed and cleaned. it was not spotless when i got it. it had dog hair already. now i can't get a response to talk to a real person? do not use budget. they will lie to charge more like its ok. no call before the charge notice nothingthey dont deserve any kind of recognition with the service they give

Made a reservation online for 3pm. Confirmation was sent to me immediately. Ordered and paid for a Lyft ride to the office. Hours say they are open until 5pm. Office was dark and there was no sign saying the hours were changed. No one answered the phone number posted on the door. Had to Lyft home, wasted an hour and $30, THANKS

Worst experience ever! I have rented cars in the past and this company has been by far the worst. They closed early due to Covid I get it not their fault yet they didn't check my car until 24 hours later! I have been disputing my charge and yet they claim I turned it in late but I'm sure they can see in their hotel lobby cameras what time I dropped off previous day. I will stick with enterprise never had an issue with them. Lesson learned. You can keep my money but I will not recommend nor ever use this company again. Save yourself the grief and go to a more reliable and rental company.

First time getting a truck from Budget, and I just wanted to personally thank Nancy for being so helpful and welcoming. I really appreciate the hospitality as I had a sprained ankle and having a pretty difficult time with that. Thanks again Nancy! Stay away from red balloons.

Jason Hwang did'nt want to rent me a car, when I gave him my reservation. He said I was on a black list and he could not rent to me. What a lie. He didnt have a car and was juggling customers. I was forced to use another company and missed an important business engagement. He then charged my account and posted I had rented the car. Why would you think at this point that I would not leave negative review. I called Buget Corp. They said I was on no such list and will refund my money ASAP. Budget will deal with This Jason by managment. Good luck Jason I really hope this location is not yours and you are an employee. I would hate to think this type of inconvenience would be imposed on other business travelers in Santa Ana. Beware of this location and this Budget employee, Jason Hwang.

This location is extremely helpful and accommodating. I was in a bind with my escrow being delayed and I had to extend my truck rental twice. The staff was very understanding and extended my reservation without any hesitation. I will definitely rent from this location in the future.

Made a reservation here for a 16ft. truck plus a tow dolly three weeks in advance in order to move from California to Illinois. Went to the location to pickup the truck the day before we moved and found out that the tow dolly was not available, which really screwed up our entire moving situation. However, after negotiating and bargaining for a couple of hours, the staff here did accommodate us with a discount and threw in a potential replacement tow dolly for free. So in terms of helpfulness, this location gets four stars.

it is a budget Avis location, we do a Costco reservation, one person office and you will have to wait if somebody is front of you. we have rented from Jason at this location for years, he is the best, but one person waits on u , preps cars and they don't have a car wash there. our wed flight was cancelled due to weather , didn't get in till Friday night, and picked car up sat, problem with reservation ,but Andrew was helpful and Jason redid paperwork on Monday for our Costco deal.

Just picked up my car for which I had prepaid online and upon closer look at the receipt they charged me for additional insurance that I didn't want. $160 above what I paid. My fault for not double checking the fine print. Won't rent from them again. He ran through the options so fast I didn't realize he snuck the extra charge in.

Five stars for the pricing but 2 stars for the customer service. Pros: I made an online reservation for a 16 ft moving truck and used the coupon code for 20% off. I got a one way rental for $140 which included 2 days and 222 miles. Much cheaper than Uhaul-for the same price is 1 day rental and 99 miles. The cost of gas for 100 miles was only $35 when I fueled up at the end of the trip. The truck was spacious and I had more than enough room for a 1 bedroom apt. Cons: The rental location didn't seem to take much pride in the appearence or condition of the trucks.Truck was easy to drive in general, but had very bad alignment which made the truck pull hard to the right. The trucks should be checked out mechanically when customers turn them in. Also the truck was dirty inside and out. Even had some broken glass in the back which I had to sweep out. I called Budget customer service to exchange the truck and they never returned my call to coordinate the exchange like they promised. Jason was so-so on customer service. He wasn't helping anyone when I arrived for my reservation. He was standing behind the desk doing nothing but still told me I had to wait because he was helping someone ( a lady who was busy sitting to fill out paperwork and calling her insurance). Seems he didn't want to multi-task and help me check in for truck until the lady was done. So stood there in silence while we all waited for the lady to finish. Then finally it's my turn and the check out was routine, nothing special on service. They have you sign a document asking about your insurance and commerical coverage. It would be helpful to have the document before you arrive, as it is hard to get a hold of insurance on weekends. I was told by Jason that the truck was newer 1-2 yrs, but it actually was over 5 yrs old and had close to 113K. Jason has a bit of an arrogant attitude but is not outright rude. I would go elsewhere in the future to a different Budget because I prefer friendly and efficient service plus clean well maintained trucks. Also, there is no parking in front of the budget and it is located in a busy hotel. I had a great customer service experience at the drop off location which confirmed that the service here was just so-so.
