We took our dog Sammi for her dental work. Unfortunately, a few of her teeth needed to be extracted. Dr. Ransom & Johanna were so informative, caring and compassionate and made our Sammi very comfortable during the procedure. Thanks Alona Animal Hospital!

I want to start by saying I have been coming here since 2009, for a long time they were great and I will give them that. However , after taking my dog in for a non-anesthesia teeth cleaning ( not done by Dr. Ransom himself , they have somebody else do it every first thursday of the month) my dog became very ill. She had been very healthy up until after the cleaning. In the beginning, i thought it was just a coincidence . She began to sleep more , then her eye got really swollen , so I brought her in for what seemed to me like an eye infection , before bringing her in I realized that there was small patches of skin that had lost hair as well . I brought her in, they ran labs and Dr told me she had an infection ( couldn't tell me what kind ) and prescribed me antibiotics . After a week of the antibiotics ( which was how long she was supposed to take them for ) , she was declining rapidly . Her infection had seemed to have grown and she was weak and almost not moving at all . I brought her back in and they said that she just needed more time on the antibiotics so they prescribed me the same ones . I trusted them and followed the directions I was given , I gave her some time and gave her more antibiotics. After about 3 days , I noticed she was still not doing ANY better and I decided to get a second opinion . I took her to a different vet & they immediately took her in the back and hooked her up to an IV , ran lab work and told me that she had sepsis. Their best guess was that she had ingested all the bacteria from the teeth cleaning and it gave her an infection that spread and hadn't been caught with Alona. I lost my dog . There was nothing they could do , it had spread too far throughout her body . I look back and think i'm such an idiot for trusting Dr.Random so blindly and following the directions I was given . Unfortunately, had this vet caught the sepsis earlier , her chances of survival would have been higher . also , The teeth cleaning was a GUESS. Due to my dogs prior nearly perfect health and the cleaning being the only thing done and the effects starting right after . I think that this should be communicated to pet owners who choose to do the non-anesthesia teeth cleaning . I hope that everyone who reads this takes it as a cautionary tale

My husband and I had to put down our 11 year old boxer. The doctor is so kind and understanding. He made the process feel, not really easier cause it's hard no matter, but like I could do it. It was heartbreaking letting go of our baby. But, if/when I have to do this again, this is where I'll go. Thank you, Doctor.

Been taking my fur babies to Alona for several years. The staff is very friendly and you aren't there for hours on end like other places.

I like Dr. Ranson and his vet assistants and office personnel. Dr. Ranson takes a lot of time with my kitty Smokey. He allows me the time to address my concerns and questions. it's a relaxed environment.

I called they straight up tell me they won’t see my dog because they are not taking any new clients.Save your time in case of an emergency and go somewhere else.

Started taking my 9week old puppy here and the staff is amazingly friendly. They treated my pup with love and care and he didn’t even whine when getting his vaccines. Will continue to come here and recommend friends and family.
