I've been out of the area for quite some time and am thrilled to learn that Mary is still holding down the fort at magical place known as the Minkler Cash Store. Been nearly 50 years since I first stopped in the store and met the owner and resident historian of Minkler, CA-Sylvia Ashcroft who happened to have had a wonderful daughter who helped her mom run the store and back in the day, the feed store across the street from the general store . Her name, Mary! I've got to get over to Minkler and grab a stool at the bar, yes I said bar! I believe the only one still in existence in all of California and catch up on things with dear, sweet Mary.

I'm not sure there is a more delightful place or proprietor to meet. I never felt happier anywhere on Earth. I'm coming back to ask questions, gain knowledge. Minkler Cash Store may be the spiritual center of my universe. I'm a Minkler at heart.

A must if you have the time to stop, slow down and have a chat with the wonderful owner, proprietor, publicist and janitor Mary. She is a genuine character with a heart of gold who always sees the good in people and the wonder in the world. Make certain to ask her about the shootout (for real) that occurred here and if you’re lucky she’ll even show you some of the bullet holes. Her liverwurst, onion and mustard on rye bread surpasses any I’ve ever had in either New York or Los Angeles! Y’all come back now, ha hear?

What a magical store Mary runs. Felt like I was walking around in the past looking at merchandise, historical toys, snack, and jewelry. If you want an experience not like any other walk on through.

Ditto everything the others have said. We stayed at a bed and breakfast near by and stopped in here several times for beer and goodies. Talked it up with Mary and by the way she is celebrating the stores' 100 years in 2020. Prices were really fair and had anything you would ever want. A real gem.

Always a pleasure to stop by here and have a talk with Mary. She's always positive and has something fun to talk about-you'll always leave feeling happy and most often meeting some new people as there are many regulars who stop by. Great place to hang out and relax, have breakfast or maybe a tamale for lunch. I always love to see all of the collection of vintage items in the store, and cute crafts for sale. Love all the quality Minkler gear and they have beautiful handmade cards and gifts. Mary also owns the shop across the street so ask her about that too.

Probably one of the best stops I made in town. Such a gem ! I recommend everyone to visit and if you are a vintage fan; the interior is as beautiful and historic . Mary the store owner is wonderful. Support local shopping ! Happy Travels .

I stop in here at least once a week on my way back from Fresno. Good snacks, Minkler postcards and T-shirts, lots of memorabilia and always a ready smile and great conversation with owner, Mary.
