I went to Hartzel Automotive to have some work done on a new-to-me Subaru Forester Sport based on the great reviews on Google and Yelp. I called the shop, spoke with Barry, the owner and made an appointment. I dropped my car off for work this morning that was very likely overdue on the car. Barry had previously informed me about the costs associated with the spark plugs and CVT fluid change and clearly explained the process and needs for both services. He called me about two hours later to let me know that the work was done but having done a check on the brakes, found the rear disc brakes were worn basically down to the metal and that a lug nut was also missing on one of the rear wheels. Because I had told him I was planning a cross country trip with the car, he asked if I wanted the brakes to be done and explained the costs and why the rear brakes were worn so much more than the front brakes. I agreed to have the work done and about an hour later I got my car back all caught up with much needed service. I am so grateful to Barry and his team and for his fair pricing and spot on making sure my car was not only safe but properly serviced. If you have a Subaru, you won't go wrong taking your car to Hartzel Automotive. Thank you Barry!

Glad I took my Subaru here. Barry is a good listener. He patiently answered my questions and talked me through the repairs before and after service. Quick turnaround and reasonable rates. I would definitely go back.

Great service, very rare to find a shop that knows what they are doing and not feeding you b.s. Mr. Hartzel is a great owner, great family man and very down to earth. He has worked in the car/mechanic business for a very long time, so he knows his stuff. I would recommend any to take their vehicle to him for service that he services under his website...unless it's a Jaguar ?

I call Berry Hartzel the Subaru Doctor. He fixed my Subaru because the engine light kept coming on. I had it dianosed at Autozone. I had the parts installed that Autozone recommended and the engine light still came on. I took it to Barry at Hartzel. He did several tests and concluded i needed a cylinder adjustment. Once he did the adjustment the car just purred like a cat. It now runs smooth. The parts from Autozone helped but it was Berry and his team who solved my problem. Thank you Berry. A shout out to you. I highly recommend any one who owns a Subaru take it to Berry. He is homest and thorough.

I went to Hartzel to have my Miata prepared and ready for an upcoming track day. Barry, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and he runs an incredible shop with equally talented mechanics. Reasonably priced and did the work efficiently.
I’m very glad that Hartzel Automotive was recommended to me. They are the only people I will trust with my car.

From the phone call to make the appointment to driving my car away after the service I felt I was dealing with a knowledgeable trustworthy individual and automotive business . This was a big service appointment. It was my 30,000 mile check up. The fee was reasonable for all the areas service included. I will definitely be going back!

I was visiting from out of town doing a road trip in my 2021 Miata. The night before we were supposed to drive home, I had some weird issue & was not able to drive the car at all. Got in contact with them the next morning & they were able to get me in. They diagnosed it, fixed it & gave amazing advice. You can't go wrong with these guys, amazing people to talk to & super intellegent. So thankful for Hartzel for getting me home safely.
