I'm giving this a 1 star just based off of my experience with the person in the black polo shirt, black pants and dark hair short haircut, Hispanic , that was working in self check out today, 3/20/24. For the most part we do all our shopping at this Costco and have been for years since it first opened. Costco shopping can be a time to chill and relax while walking around shopping for items. Today was one of those days until..... I got to self check out. The reason I choose self checkout is because not all cashiers are the friendliest and I like to check out my own items without drama. lol.... Until today. In my basket I had 1 bag of small Fuji apples, banana, Brussels sprouts. Org. Blueberries and strawberries, ground turkey and 1 Pack chicken wings, Arizona ice tea-2 cases, a box of dust mop, toilet paper and napkins. Toilet paper of course will make any cart look full. I go to self checkout and inquired with the employee in the black outfit if one of the checkout stations was closed and she said yes, looks at my cart and loudly says you can't use self checkout you have too many items and I was really confused and gave the customer that was standing next to her a confused look cause he was looking at me weirdly after the employee banished me from self check out. I asked the employee if there was a policy change cause I've never heard that. I looked for a sign that might have stated "this self check out is for 10 items or less" or something close to that, but nope no sign. She says your items have to be able to fit on the scale and I said it's the toilet paper and napkins that's making it look like I have a lot but I don't. So I took my cart and family and went to different line. I look over and a family with even more items then myself AND also had toilet paper was at self check out. I walk over to the employee with the black outfit and short dark hair and say, look that customer has more items what is the difference. She said you want to talk to manager I said yes right now. Manager agrees with me and says she's wrong any customer can do self checkout. I go back to the employee and she says I'm done with you as I'm letting her know that she was incorrect. I get out of line and go back to self check out. And she comes over and tries to make me look like I don't know how to checkout my items but at this point I'm not paying her any mind. Then she comes back when I'm nearly done checking out and finally offers to scan the remaining items in my cart. Apologizes and says that's why I told you to go to regular checkout cause your items don't fit. It was a ridiculous interaction that shouldn't have occurred. All the times I've used self check out there is always a helpful employee that suddenly appears to offer and scan a heavy looking item. I just think this employee in particular was lazy and had a power trip and making up her own rules and not complying with how she was Costco trained. Oh and as I was scanning the cashier next to self check out, Asian/islander woman with salt and pepper curly shoulder length asymmetric bob-like cut must've overhead and was also saying outloud she has too much in her cart as we lock eyes for a brief second. She looked angry as she was saying it. Why were these employees so bothered by me minding my own business just trying to use self check out??? The manger I spoke with is a tall young man with glasses and very professional and kind with his interaction with me. He addressed the issue quickly because I did see him go over to the employee and talk with her. I also ended up calling the store and talking to another manager of membership and she was patient, kind and professional with me via phone. And I did clarify if there was truly a limit when self check out and the manager said there is no limitation and if there was Costco would have signs posted, ie 10 items or less etc. and this is why I chose self check out. Cause this is second time I've had a negative interaction with employee at chec

Rude pharmacist, at the counter. Told her the counter was sticky as a side note and she said "I don't know" I said it's sticky my sweatshirt stuck to it. And she said, do you need something? As I started talking, she said "this window". I said I didn't know which window I should go too. Because she seemed like she was in the middle of both windows. "The window I'm at" she replied. What a terrible person. I just left.

Wait! What's going on? This isn't Black Friday it's normal Wednesday, right? People lined up to get in the store that won't open for 30 minutes. I don't know for sure but maybe it's time to buy more Costco stock. I am here too, sadly, thinking the store would open at 9:00- they decided to change the hours and didn't tell anyone. Nobody is complaining. In fact it's Social,Hour - people yakking it up. Waiting. I think I'm in a different Galaxy Heading here for a quick pick up of the usual paper products, waters, etc. Only I'm not early. Haha. Once inside I'm reminded why people shop here. Quality name brand products. Very low cost and a tremendous no questions asked return policy. I decided to peruse the wine department and again was blown away -- anything from very good low cost selections to high end choices you might not expect. Like $300 a bottle stuff. Nice to have choices. I won't go into all the choices just to say every-time I go to the store the inventory changes. It's really the fun thing about the place. And it keeps people coming back.with prices up everywhere on everything it's refreshing to see Costco keeping its low pricing objective in tact. Go, you won't be disappointed.

This is a review for the tire center at this Costco. The tire center service here is terrible, particularly the manager and the front desk. Manager's name is Jose, and front desk is Ruben. Both are incredibly condescending and rude when working with customers. Went in the first time to get my tires rotated, Ruben was rude, repeating things to me when I didn't hear it well as if I was stupid. I thought that was a fluke, everyone has bad days right? Second time around, was even worse. Came in to replace my tire, was promised that the tire rotation for all wheels were included since I purchased a new Costco tire. Ruben and the manager Jose starts arguing with me over it.After spending $300 here on a new tire, these Costco employees are arguing with me over $30 (tire rotation fee) that was originally promised to be included. Not what I expect from Costco. Take your business to America's Tire whose service is impeccable.

Love this Costco. Lines seem to be moving pretty fast every time. There isn't usually a line to use the bathroom like there is in LA. Food court on point. They usually have eggs and paper towels which is cool because other locations run out pretty often.

Oh, man. I love Costco. This is our local store and it does not disappoint. I guess this is considered a "medium" sized store. It's still huge. I come here because their meat department is excellent. I also found a toto washlet today which I immediately purchased. Looking forward to having a squeaky clean butt by this afternoon! Thank you Costco.

I've always had good experiences at this Costco. It is very similar to most other Costco stores throughout California. There is a gas station but it's across the street. The reason it is across the street is because the city would not let them place it any closer to the store. The gas station is often crowded but there are a lot of pumps so the line moves fast. The pharmacy here stocks a lot of medications but sometimes it can be a bit difficult getting them to work with your insurance company. Overall, I enjoy going to this Costco.

I went to the tire store on the side of the main store hoping to get full service for buying the battery but turns out they only sell batteries to be carried out. That's fine and not a problem, since it's literally their business model that they cannot change. Ordered the battery anyways expecting the battery was the issue for my own car not able to start the last 2 days without a jump. Asked if I could borrow any tools to change myself and they didn't have any. Only that I could go get some inside Costco itself and buy some tools. For a place with tools on the inside and no service from the store, please at least have some tools on loan for other's convenience. Again perhaps it's liability they were worried about. No matter. I drove to o'reilly's after and got tools and changed the battery out myself. When asked the cashier whether they have a cart to wheel out the battery as I came in with a baby in a stroller, he told me to go get a cart. I had hoped that he would help me with wheeling it out to the car with me but it was perhaps too much for him. I ended up getting a cart, put the battery in. Looked at the stroller and the cart and myself, took the stroller apart and put my car seat and stroller into the cart and wheeled it out myself. I was actually proud of my genius solution! Still upbeat and on my way. Decided that I didn't want to carry the core battery in the car for the rest of my new year trip from sacramento to LA and back, I brought back the battery to the store for core refund. The other cashier was friendly but said, "do me a favor and put the battery on the cart on the side." I thought ok this is self service ALL THE WAY HUH?" But guess what, I'm not a baby, sure I'll do it. As I try to lift the battery up from the shopping cart with my finger tips, I heard a SNAP! And my middle finger gave way! I was in shock but I quickly gathered myself and used my pointing finger and got the battery onto the cart it was supposed to go on to. I noticed some battery pick up tool on the cart but had no explanations, and I didn't want to misuse it and drop the battery onto my toes or anything. Got my $15 cash from the cashiers and a numb middle finger...My Middle finger has been numb since the incident and it's 2 days later. I drove through the crazy rain through this trip thinking whether my career is on the line from this incident. Surely hoped they would have at least told me how to use the battery pick up clamp or even just do it themselves! I already wheeled it in with the shopping cart that was their official answer for wheeling batteries in and out of the store. On the bonus, their gas station is 2 blocks away and very confusing to get to. For a non local, I wasted another 20 minutes trying to find it while still in shock over my numb finger... I'm probably more livid because of my injury but come on! do your job and pick up the core yourself! Not going to be Mr nice guy here and get myself hurt next time.

This location has a sort of funky layout compared to most newer Costco's. One of the odd things is that the gas station is located across the road from the actual store. The store itself feels smaller than other Costco's in the Bay Area. Because of this, you do not find certain items in as much of a variety, such as furniture or outdoor "toys" like kayaks, beach chairs, etc... which is sort of odd if you think about it because this location is less than a mile from the beach. During the colder season, you'll find a small selection of holiday decorations, and gift baskets, but - again - options are more limited than other stores. For your staple items like eggs, meats, baked goods, this location consistently has those items in stock, but the eggs and dairy are located inside of a walk-in cooler, hidden in the back of the store. Tip: See photo for reference!

I picked up a membership here to shop and use the pharmacy. The pharmacist told me my prescription was ready, then put me on hold. When she returned she lectured me about about the federal government, how this location wants to avoid attention from the Fed, and that I should pick up my prescription simply from a different warehouse. I was obviously fed a handful of lines regurgitated to other have-nots that aren't wanted here. I will pursue corrective action on this issue vehemently, look forward to it. The pharmacy bubble "we're not attached to the main store" stuff is a joke, too. The joke's on you, I don't work at this sad and discriminating Costco in the worst city on the central coast. (Keep on selling your cheap wieners at 9.1 CPI. Sure, that's enough.)
