November 2023 by Jeannie R.
Hello,I am writing this on behalf of my sister, ****. My sister had gone in on Friday, November17th. to drop off a note from Hanger. ( She has a below the knee prosthetic). She has been struggling with her stump in which she has had so much pain, bruises and has been uncomfortable for some time now. She was told to return this week to pick up the form she dropped off on Friday. As a matter of fact my sister had an appointment. When she arrived there was no letter for her. A note that was supposed to be given to Hanger in order to assist her and ease the pain. She was speaking to the lady at the front, when a nurse saying she was the nurse supervisor showed up and was rude to my sister. Her name is Amy Jenkins. The lady at the front told her someone by the name of David was going to come up and speak to her. Amy came out and told my sister that there is nothing anyone can do for her. ( In a rude manner). My sister told her I am waiting for David. Her response was " well David is going to tell you exactly what I said and I am the nurse supervisor so go sit down". Amy then continued to (loudly) tell my sister that she needs to sit and get away from the front and quit hovering over the receptionist in which the receptionist replied that my sister was not bothering her. Amy then got louder and told my sister, LISTEN TO ME!!!!. My sister was so upset that she started crying. She did tell Amy she needs to sit down and that she was upset about the situation. Amy didn't care.I don't think that anyone should behave this way toward any patient, let alone another human being. My sister was obviously upset about the situation and didn't need Amy to jump in to the situation without knowing what was happening. Being rude and disrespectful to my sister in front of my 11 year old nephew and 6 year old granddaughter. To the point that my granddaughter told me a lady was yelling at my sister when they went to the doctor's office. Amy needs to learn or be trained on how to treat people. Whether an individual is upset about a situation she had no clue about. My sister was so upset that she cried so much. My sister has been going to this office for a long while now to have someone yell at her. I am extremely angered to know that my sister that was in pain, has bruises, and difficult walking due to the problem to be inconsiderate of her feelings, treat her as if she was a bother. No one should be treated this way.I am hoping to hear from someone soon explaining why someone like Amy is allowed to speak to patients the way she did. I will continue to reach out to whomever I have to, in order to make sure this doesn't happen to my sister or anyone for that matter, again. The last thing that someone that is struggling to be treated poorly. My phone number is 8******1. Again my sister is ******* and she was there today when Amy Jenkins crossed the line. I know that the San Ysidro Health Center serves individuals and families that may or may not have healthcare. It doesn't mean they deserve less than descent service.

San Ysidro Health Center is a great clinic. But sadly it has a few unprofessional doctors. This review is directed to Dr. Collin Ross who is unskillful useless "Dr." He came in through the door and after 3 minutes he left without saying a word. His CNA informed use that she had no idea what was going on. She also stated that many people have complained about this so-called "Dr." San Ysidro Health Center might've hired him to have diversity in the clinic. Clearly he's quite unhelpful and clueless. Beware he will treat you as a dog.

Bryanna Barrena & her boyfriend Efrain scammed my family and sold us a car that does not work. So if you don’t want to get scammed don’t come here!!! She currently works here and won’t even try to work anything out.

They never want to refill your medication. You have to jump hoops inorder to get any service. If you take birth control pills they make it impossible for you to get it. Not to mention they delete all bad comments. Better off going to cvs.

Son hurt his foot. Took him to his Pediatrician 2 weeks ago and did X-rays. Never hurt back. Just received a call wanting me to make an appointment to go over his X-rays. Gosh hope there was nothing really wrong with his foot! Shame on this facility, keep getting worse. Actually liked his pediatrician. How is this looking out for your patients?

This clinic does not care for appointments. My appointment was at 3:10 today but at 1:30 I received a call asking if I could come in earlier, we agreed I'd be there at 2pm. Once I arrived I waited to be called in ordered to check in for over 15 minutes, the front desk lady who called m e to get checked in was very nice and welcoming. I only waited in the lobby for around 10 minutes and I was very happy with the fast intake. The problems began after I was sat in the room, I got my vitals checked and the MA left. 20 minutes later he came back to let me know the doctor was a busy with an emergency procedure they had to take care of which would take a some time. I appreciated the gesture of letting me know what was happening so I waited calmly. But now I have been waiting in the room for over an hour despite having an appointment, which I consider disrespectful. The doctor was very nice throughout the time I was kept in the room but she kept coming in and out of the room which prolonged the time to a total of 2+ hours for a regular physical. If you care for your time do not visit this clinic.

Where to even start? Their phone system is a joke! Wait 20-25 minutes on hold, asking you to leave a call back # but not actually taking it. They expect you to wait a week with a possible broken foot to get seen.

We went to the one off D Avenue, in National City. The only reason why my son is going to SYH is because his pediatrician is within his health insurance network. That is the only reason why I continue to take my son to this company.Other than that, I feel administrative staff can do a better job in communicating with patients/ parents of patients when it comes to cancelling appointments and/or not taking insurance. For Example: Today, my son was scheduled an appointment with his Pediatrician (Dr. Bonsu, who we love!) but as soon as we check in, the girl in the front said that they had "called my cell phone (1 time), left a voicemail letting me know that my son's Dr's schedule had switched. They said they called on March 6th, 2023."I showed the girl my phone, no voicemails from that day, since I never delete my voicemails. I did receive the appointment confirmation though! & It was only 1 time they called. I work in healthcare myself and personally, my clinic does the 3 calls/voicemails then sends a letter if we are unable to be in contact with the patient. My son could have been rescheduled to another appropriate day with his Dr and I wouldn't have to have waisted PTO hours. This isn't the first time it's happened and it's just frustrating when staff isn't helpful, as coz I would never be so rude to a patient who is clearly upset and asking appropriate questions.Another example: In January, I was scheduled for my woman's exam. I showed up and they told me right then and there that they don't "take my insurance." I had made this appointment a month before too!!! I called my primary care to resend another referral to a different facility that took my insurance. It was just such a big inconvenience. I didn't understand why they didn't tell me that when I made the appointment in the first place!!! Again, had to use PTO hours for nothing. Like I mentioned before, my son is in network with his Pediatrician and that is the ONLY reason we would be going to SYH. Luckily my son has been rescheduled to the following week but I wish there was better communication from the staff in regards to these important matters. As a single mother, I would appreciate that type of empathy and attentiveness. That is all, thank you.

Avoid this place like the plagueThey have the most frustrating phone system, takes hours to reach someone who can help you - it's so bad I usually give up and just deal with whatever issue I have until it gets so bad I need the emergency room. Patient portal does not work right, wont let me schedule anything except covid booster. I always start out optimistic, and by the time I get ahold of someone to make an appointment I am so stressed out. Their urgent care does not have a phone number, and when you drive there, they make you stand outside next to a parking garage, most of the time just to tell you they can't help and to go back home. This place must operate on the bare minimum regulations that the law allows. In 2022 this is a shining example of what a healthcare facility should not be.
