Zero Stars! DO NOT BUY MEXICO INSURANCE FROM HERE! We bought the full road side assist and towing package. Had a break down in desert in Mexico and when we tried to get help Neither Baja Mex or provider could find our policy! We had to fully fend for ourselves.Took 4 days to figure out that there was no policy issued. Way to late! Also finally a local supervisor offered us a full pay out but that is not helpful when you are stuck in the desert..What if we had an accident? No Coverage!!!!!I am not here to accuse but it looks to me like someone was issuing paper policy, not filling, and pocketing the money.. No proof but the picture is clear to me! Use Baja Bound or a larger known company

Very smooth experience. You are able to exchange currency as well as get car insurance for Mexico. They charge based on the value of your car. The original building was torn down. I'm not certain if they are replacing it. However, they moved across the street. Just be sure to read the signs as soon as you exit the freeway.

Do NOT go here! The exchange rates are the most expensive in the area! Just go across the street to the dollar tree plaza which is walking distance and there's a store with a MUCH BETTER exchange rate !!! Don't get ripped off here. I tried to get my money back 3 min after I exchanged it and they said no! Lost $45 here!!!

Zero is more accurate for my rating. Please don't come here! This place is a terrible business. Their personnel literally interrogated me over the purchase of a $1.25 money order. I visited this place for the first time to purchase a money order for a payment I was doing at a local business literally next to Baja-Mex. The lady at the window started asking for personal information including my work place and social security number and when I asked her the reason for all these questions, she replied that it was their business policy to ask everyone for information about the person and where they get their money in case of an audit they wanted to make sure it wasn't money laundering proceeds. I was furious that this business was implying that everyone that comes in is a criminal. The lady then told me that if I didn't want to give my personal information she would not sell me the money order. She blatantly asked me where my money came from? This business sells Mexican insurance and they are also a currency exchange shop near the San Ysidro border. IN RESPONSE TO YOUR UNSYMPATHETIC REPLY: i think you are the one who's offended. I can absolutely agree with you on developing an AML Program in compliance with the the Patriot Act of 2005, however, 31 CFR 1010.410(e) and (f) (rules applicable to certain transmittals of funds); and 1022.410 (additional recordkeeping requirement for dealers in foreign exchange) require to create and maintain a record of each exchange of currency in excess of $1,000; the money order I was purchasing was for less ($500). You should develop common sense and courtesy to your customers and not invade their personal privacy.

The girl that works there has a horrible attitude i dont know how they can have people like that working in there, i will never go back there ..another thing i told her to give me big bills she said noo she gave me more small bills than big bills.

Such a rip-off and nonexistent customer service. Price gouging for sure, as noted in other reviews. They charged me a weekend rate on a weekday, even though their posted rate didn't say anything about higher holiday rates. There are cheaper places to park, cheaper to use Uber or MTA, and many other places to get insurance conveniently online. Take your business elsewhere.

I did not park here. I bought Mexican car insurance for a weekend trip across the border. I used their website and the process was pretty easy and pretty affordable.

I lived in Baja California when my children were young, so i drop down from California to visit sometimes. Evelina in the San Ysidro office made it so easy to get covered for my recent visit. I felt confident and was grateful for her being so clear as to what to do; it's been many years since i was there, so i sometimes forget protocols that apply to Mexico. A huge 'Gracias!' for Evelina's wonderful help!! - Beth.

I went to Baja Mex insurance on my way down to Mexico and had a great experience. I was able to get a great policy for a great rate and the customer service was very fast and helpful.
