Nice quite beach with short walk from parking lot fyi as of 2024 the price is closed due to damage so you can't fish from it and it's blocked off

Not too crowded. There are prettier beaches in California. But being able to look up and see Hearst Castle while on the beach was nice.

I had just left the Hearst Castle and I saw this beach right across the street from it so I ventured over. Glad I did. What I like about the beach is that it is small and it has this pier but it's not obstructed by hotels and buildings. It is a state beach. Unfortunately, it's not well taken care of. The grassy area needs to be mowed and the railings and steps to the sand need to be painted. The bathrooms are closed. They have portable toilets. Great place to sit next to the water and just listen to the waves. There are plenty of picnic tables. I wouldn't swim here because there is no lifeguard and the waves look dangerous.

Awesome and the weather was beautiful. Stopped by on way back from the Sea Lion viewing area north of San Simeon. They all have babies right now!?

Beautiful park like setting next to the ocean and pier. Bathrooms. State Park official was on duty.
