This is a small cute Hotel. However, it has no AC and there were a few things wrong. We had a deluxe room with a partial ocean view but you could not see the ocean from our room at all. The jacuzzi tub did not work. The toilet was super close to the tub. The fan on the ceiling was off to one side of the room. Yet, the bed was in the middle. The screen was broken so we could not leave the window open for air if we were not there. Continental breakfast was not bad. If you’re diabetic then it is not for you, it consists of mostly carbs, very little protein and no meats. It was super quiet. The pool capacity is only 15 people, which was kinda nice. The pool area outside needs more attention. Lots of spider eggs in the windows, pool was fairly clean. They give you towels for the pool, so no need to bring your own. Most of the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was a good stay, they just need to update a few things.
Rooms: They do Not have air conditioning in any of the rooms. The room was stuffy.
Nearby activities: Piedras light house is 12 mins, beach is a walk away, and hearst castle is 7 mins away
Safety: I could not leave the window open due to the screen being broken. So we could only leave windows open when we were there and not at night.
Food & drinks: They only have carbs for breakfast. They have hardboiled eggs and yogurt as protein. No meats. Not diabetic friendly. They have fruit.

I think The Morgan Hotel is a 3-star hotel. It is perhaps a slightly aging celebrity, but the rooms are comfortably outfitted, the atmosphere is super pleasant, they have a heated pool even in winter, there is apparently accommodation for pet boarding while there, and the service is excellent. I give a particular nod to the night desk man, who provided outstanding service to myself and clearly to other patrons. Visit the Morgan for an economical comfortable stay at a location where you can feel at home.
Noteworthy details: Again, the staff is excellent.

The hotel is old and dirty. Or room had broken windows, old lumpy beds, stained sheets and carpets, and no a/c. They left broken equipment outside the building. It is conveniently located close to Hearst Castle and that is the only good thing I can say. We were put in the the second building on the second floor. We are able to get our room switched and it was better and didn't have a weird smell like the first one.

The place was obviously well kept. The staff was helpful. Very small town. The pool was a little disappointing because it was outside and it was cold.

Very silent and good experience! The room is very classic and even has a fireplace!

This hotel should be booked with the understanding that it consists of two different buildings, with a Mexican restaurant in the middle. If you end up getting a room in the distant building, like I did, you'll receive an old, outdated room that looks nothing like the pictures.
The separate building looks very old and gloomy from the outside. Upon entering, there's a smell from the carpet, and despite booking a Deluxe Ocean View on the 2nd floor, there's no ocean view, just a view of the parking lot, with torn window screens and dirty windows making it hard to see anything. The heater makes a loud noise like a motor. It seems like the gas heater is emitting a strong odor of gas, making it uncomfortable to stay indoors.
I wanted to change rooms, but they said the main building is fully booked, so they can't accommodate the change.
With conditions this shocking, one would expect it to be sold for less than $100. It's truly a waste of money and has completely ruined the mood of this trip.
Please don't be deceived by the photos or reviews on Google or the company's website.

We booked a good new room but received a complete opposite. It was old and had a bad smell in rooms and all inside the building. We arrived very late so we couldn’t change the hotel and had to stay there as that’s the only option they had, but it was a terrible experience and we asked to get a refund since we got a complete other room and they refused any compensation.
NOT recommended, if you don’t need fraud and sleepless night
First picture is what we booked and second one the picture of the real room we got.

Goed hotel en fijn contact ontbijt niet heel uitgebreid maar wel voldoende. En was gratis dus dat is verder ook geen punt.
Rooms: Nette kamers

Room made a weird vent noise throughout the night. Water pressure was good but the one of the lights wasn’t working. Vending machines were out of water. Free breakfast. Hospitable people.

Location-wise, this is a wonderful hotel. Right next to the beach. It also has a heated pool. Basic and tasty Continental breakfast. Hotel is clean. We loved our stay and the hotel offers great value.
Rooms: Clean rooms.

The hotel looked like a dump from the outside but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Lots of road traffic noise due to the location. Advertised breakfast turned out to be only a Continental breakfast (very disappointed). If you're on the first floor, make sure you slam your windows to ensure they lock, for safety.

This hotel needs some TLC it’s very old and the customer service is non existent. They advertise ocean view suites but the ocean it’s a distant few block so you get a picka boo view only. Don’t waste your time with the carb only breakfast.

My husband and I had to change our plans in Pismo beach and struggled to find an ocean view hotel for the right place. John at the front desk was informative about local activities and restaurants. He also helped me find the right price and room. Thank you John! The Morgan Hotel, he made our stay memorable and the room and accomodations were exactly what we needed! Definitely will plan to stay here again in the future.
Walkability: Beach is nearby and a restaurant next door!
