Want to give a huge shout out to Julian and his team at the San Ramon Safeway floral department. Their arrangements are just beautiful. We asked for assistance in with our little vases for a party we had last night, and they were beautiful on the tables. Julian was very helpful with ideas, colors, etc. Both he and his team also put together a lovely arrangement of flowers for my husband to surprise me with for my birthday. Everyone is very friendly and happy each time I walk into their area. Thank you to all!!!

Safeway sells these salt bbs they have a whole display and the containers you fill says refil and get $4 off. But when I go through the cash register the cashiers play dumb and so do the managers and refuse to give the $4 discount. That is clearly written on the package.

I bought a pre-made layered cake on Wednesday January 31st for my husband birthday in san ramon and first off I was told I could pay at the Bakery which i always have done in the Livermore location then when I brought the cake home the cake had no filling in-between the layers just on the outer side to made it looked like there was filling so the cake so dry I will never buy a cake from them again

Really bad customer service. Wish it would improve but it hasn't. Called the manager a few times about it.

Your store needs to update your hours on Google if you open at 5 am in of 24 hours like Google says. Trying to go to your store before 5 am is a joke. Take the sign off the door & change your hours. Very disappointing.

Unfortunately the safeway app and drive up and go features don't help you get what you need and a timely fashion. Set a pick up time frame for 6pm ( placed order at noon) and they didn't get started on assembling my order until 615pm. Waste my time and resources as even if I cancelled the order and went inside for what I needed, I wouldn't be refunded the amount I needed for those exact same grocies until after 7days. Safeway rips you off.

Safeway has great values if you use the app. Saved 20% today on groceries.

Just minutes ago I had a genuinely hilarious interaction with the customer service person at this location. Around 3 pm I came here to do my grocery shopping because I do my meal prep on Sundays, sometimes into the night due to odd working hours. A few hours later I opened the chicken I got directly from the meat counter and was hit with that very bad turned chicken smell. Vomit inducing stink. Wrapped it up, took it to the outside garbage, and was very thankful trash pickup is tomorrow. I called and spoke with the guy working CS and let him know because I wanted to give them a heads up to check out the chicken in the case. No demands, didn't even ask for money back, just maybe a little extra qc on the chicken so no one gets sick. I go on with the rest of my prep deciding I'll get more chicken tomorrow from somewhere else. I take out the ginger root I bought to peel and grate it only to discover blue/green mold on each of the pre-cut parts of the root. I should have checked it better in-store, even my partner was like, "Why didn't you look closer?!" but man, like come on. Having moldy produce is not it. I call to let them know they may also want to check their ginger and this man sarcastically tells me I should buy a lottery ticket. As if it's a wild possibility that I got a bad piece of chicken and a bad ginger on the same trip. Again, I wasn't needlessly complaining or even asking for something in return. I didn't even intend to get a refund because the hassle would be more than the monetary value, but like... really? Not only could your meat and produce use better quality checks but the customer service guy you have working Sunday evenings might need a small refresh on just basic... customer service. Ironically, I got my career start by training customer-facing people on how to interact with the public, which is why I'm almost always on the side of the employee, but being needlessly antagonistic to an otherwise calm customer who isn't even making a single demand is quite a choice. I'm happy to offer pro bono training if they need it.

It's supposed to be open 24 hours. Not. Sharpie hand written note on door, closed unril 5am. Completely unprofessional and falsely advertised. Drove here specifically because it advertised open 24hrs.

Hated this grocery store before the remodel. I would rather starve than wait 30 minutes to check out at the grocery store like how it was before- luckily, that's fixed with over staffing registers. Stopped in recently out of survival as my mother in law was passionate to shop at Safeway and Safeway only. We were impressed with the remodel, and how fresh the produce was. The selection is impressive, and quality so far has been excellent. What I don't love is the layout. Call me old school, but I miss the days where grocery stores were just grocery stores. I don't want to grab my produce and then walk halfway across the store, passing aisles of housewares and knickknacks and towels with tacky sayings on them, just to get to the rest of the food to shop for my groceries. Canned goods are separated amongst 3 far apart aisles, which causes me to spend double the time in the store crossing back and forth just trying to figure out where the dang canned black beans are. The lines are fast now, and the service tends to be friendly, so that's nice.

Stay away from the deli. The crew has no idea what they are doing. They do not know the promotional items, does not care about quality and pushes off the customer away instead of fixing the mistake by saying "I'm too busy right now". There were 6 people too busy focusing on their own stations to avoid helping each other. We stood there wanting to fix our chicken order because this lady refused to come back. No one came by. She gave us all dark meat instead of half white and half dark. Her response would be, I gave you mixed" when I asked if she included white meat. I looked inside the bucket and there were no white meat pieces. She refused to acknowledge me after standing there for 5 minutes to fix the issue and so did everyone else. We had to walked away. What a shame you give away business due to a lack of training and validation from store leadership.

This review is specifically about the time I rented a Rug Doctor from this Safeway. On Sunday, October 15 around 6 pm, I stopped by Safeway (2505 San Ramon Valley Blvd) and asked if they have a Rug Doctor available for rent. Two people helped me and when I asked that question, one of them asked the other if the Rug Doctors have been fixed, in which the other person answered 'yes' with a sense of skepticism. I thought little of it, rented it anyway, and went about my day. On 9:30 that same day, I started getting everything situated to get my area rug cleaned only to find out that the Rug Doctor is not working properly. The 'Brush Jam' light was on and the brush wasn't spinning at all. When I inspected it, there was a ton of hair (for previous renters) that caused it to malfunction. I clean it out and it still doesn't spin. From there, I decide to just pack it up and I'll return it when I get off from work the next day. Today (October 16) at 5:15 pm, I return the Rug Doctor to the store and ask for a refund. I was denied of that refund because I'm returning it almost 24 hours later. While that is true, it's 100% reasonable that I rent something on a Sunday night, work a full day (Monday) and come immediately after 5 pm when I get off work. I spoke with Angela, Front End Manager who was dismissive, unhelpful, and unwilling to reason with me. I asked for her managers contact information and she gives me the store number--continuing to be unhelpful. While I love shopping at this Safeway for groceries, I feel as if this incident is a good representation of the store and it's management if an incident like this doesn't get resolved. 1 star for now.

Just had a staff member telling me to “move” motioning with her hands that she had to move a cart. I go to this location often and there is always some kind of issue. I won’t be going back after this, they do not care about service. They find the cheapest labor possible, probably getting tax credits for the staff they hire…
