Amazing wacky experience….
Went to purchase 10 small feeder goldfish for my turtle. Shop was sparsely tended so manager at cashier station nicely agreed to assist. When we got to fish tank containing 1000s of feeder goldfish, I said I wanted 10 smalls. To my surprise, the manager said he didn’t see any…he said they were all larges…I was shocked by his response and pointed out a number of small goldfish to which the manager said “no, those are large cuz they grow very fast (what??). He proceeded to search through the zillions of fish to find the tiniest goldfish in the tank. After finding 4, he said he didn’t see any more and then asked if I was ok with the 4. I politely said ok just to get out of there. Finally, as a “nice” gesture, the manager said he was going to throw in a minnow (slightly bigger than a baby guppy) for free. Wow how incredibly generous!! I sure hope he gets a big commission on my purchase of 4 x 29 cents cuz I will not be back to this shop for any of my pet needs.

Left review on my other account but wasn't taken seriously.
Bought food on Past Sunday.
Pourer food in bin before I left for work on Monday morning so kids did t have too. Kids woke up to feed dogs and saw mold in food after first couple of scoops.
I had already put bag in trash and trash day is Monday.
Kids couldn't get in contact because i was in Surgery all day with me to see what they needed to do so they through food away.
Called customer service and they said nothing they could do for me.

The manager is very rude and quite disrespectful. He’s especially harsh to his own employees. The feeder fish have been “unavailable” for the last 7 months. I hope this location improves, the extra time it takes to go to the Dublin Pet Smart is well worth it.

Manager a little abrupt and rude even to employees Zachary and employee wonderful very helpful. Very nice manager embarrassed him in front of clients. Don’t care for that kind of brutality in a manager.

Dog grooming, about as inexpensive as you can find, groomers are pretty good and friendly.
It can take a week to get an appointment, but occasionally they get backlogged for much longer.

Ed was helpful. We rescued a gosling. Ed was knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure our little guy was safe until we could take him to The International Bird Rescue Center in Fairfield, California!

Worst grooming experience ever! I booked the appointment at 11:15am, when I got there around 2:15pm, the groomer just began cutting the hair. I didn't know what happened to my little one in the past three hours, he looked exhausted, scared, and timid when I picked him up. When I saw him, his fur got shaved so thin that you could see his skin through the fur. He was also very quiet and tired at home. He was very emo and kept shaking even though the house heater was on. He must have gotten really bad experience there. The uneven shaved my dog cost me $91! Petco service let me down!

Horrible customer service and super slow. I had a few questions regarding a fish I was hoping to get and waited for a hour because the only employee there was helping another customer. I came back a couple hours later just to be told that the tank I had wasn't big enough for the fish I wanted. What a waste of time.

One of the employees of this establishment I'm assuming the manager, decided today would be the day he'd ruin for me. He also thought playing with my money made sense. I'm sure he wouldn't be happy if someone played with his job and money, matching his negative energy. I DoorDash sometimes. I'm a single mom of a 5 year old. I've done over 3.5k deliveries over the past 3 years. Rarely am I asked for my identification. I can count on one hand. Today I came into Petco with my ID. I've been in the Petco to pick up food plenty of times using that same ID and with no problems I was given the order. Thank God. Because at the end of the day it's not that serious.
I explained to the manager that for privacy reasons my name on DoorDash for the past 3 years has been an alias. However I showed him my ID and said that he could use my legal name or alias in order for me to pick up cat food. Mind you I have done over 3.5k deliveries for more expensive products including electronics and was never asked for ID. If anything the app asks for me to scan the barcode for that product. So when the manager of this establishment told me that the name on my ID had to match the name on the app from his device I was sure that if I also showed him my device that showed the order information directly from the app I was assigned the order under my alias and my email address (that included my legal name) he could be rest assured that I was in fact that I was in fact the correct person to give the order to. I hoped he'd be intelligent enough to realize that for starters I'm not about to steal cat food. And that if he was worried about me stealing cat food my legal name and physical address was right there on my ID for him. That way I'd be easy to track down and be punished for the crime of catnapping food. However he chose to make things more complicated than necessary. Asking dashers for ID at a pet store is incredibly stupid. Not just because it's pet food but because a "Dasher" stealing from the Petco would be the fault of DoorDash and the Dasher not the Petco regardless to whether they take ID or not. If stealing is that big of an issue that Dashers need to be carded for an order then maybe DoorDash isn't something Petco should be investing in. Taking my ID and making sure the name matches the Dasher name isn't going to stop people from stealing. Either way I showed proof of who I was by using the app and gave him my legal name. It's not corporate espionage. It's not grand theft auto. I'm not smuggling contraband. It's just cat food. I'm trying to make money to take care of my son. So I don't appreciate someone asinine making that difficult for me in this economy. Lift the requirement for Dashers to show their ID. Your establishment is 1 out of 200 establishments in San Ramon that asks for ID for something as invaluable as cat food. If it's that serious hire your own delivery drivers and stop using DoorDash.
I made sure to tell him he was being extremely asinine. It's cat food not a 5 carat diamond.

Went to buy a new rubber chicken squeak toy for my dog. They had a good selection of toys but not the chicken. So I bought her some cookies.

This is by far the worst experience and weirdest of my life, I came in to purchase a gold fish for my tank, I currently have 3 gold fish in a 30 gallon tank and want a 4th and I was told I am NOT allowed to bc he's not LEGALLY allowed to sell me one unless I upgrade my tank. I said, I understand your concerns and I'll upgrade it later, but he refused me! A 29cent gold fish, but instead he wants me to spend $75 first to upgrade to a new tank. He literally refused to sell me a fish, is that legal? Unless I upgrade by purchasing a tank. Since he's the general a manger, he won't allow anyone there to sell me 29cent fish!! This is ridiculous
