“Had driven from Hayward to San Ramon to pick up a special RX for my cat, from Custom Care Compounding, which is a compound pharmacy. On the way back I figured I better use a restroom before making the long drive home in high traffic. I pulled into a gas station but then saw this place next door so decided to walk into it. First thing I noticed was how clean this place was. Walked to the back and saw a man in the meat department (which was again super clean looking) and he pointed to the restroom. After I had conducted my business in the rest room I decided to look around and see if I could buy something small, so that I wouldn't feel bad about just using their restroom. I bought tea bags ( Ahmed Tea London, Cardomom) and a box of Indian cookies, Nan Khatai. On the drive back I wondered how it would be to buy fresh chicken and goat from that extra clean looking meat department! Came home and made myself a cup of that tea(absolutely delightful) and had one of those cookies. (Check video). I feel San Ramon is lucky to have a nice little market like this one. I hope to go back one day soon!”

“Was in the area and in the mood for a sandwich. Decided to give them a try after finding them on Yelp. Glad I did, food looks like the pictures and tastes as good. Service and food was excellent. I saw a sign in the window saying they have been open since the fifties. I can see why. I got the turkey/avocado/bacon with pepperjack cheese on Dutch crunch roll. Their sandwiches are massive and reasonably priced. Will be back! (Have already been back once)”

“I was happy to find a kosher supermarket in the east bay. The store is pretty small but with enough variety. The owner is very nice and helpful. Large variety of meat and it's pretty good. The prices are not cheap but it's acceptable when they are the only one in the area.”

“Simple shop with about twenty different kinds of marinated meats in display in a cooler, most on skewers. Everything was very clean and the meat was fresh. I got a couple Punjabi and a couple others (forget what) and it was excellent. I put it on the low rack of a ripping hot kammado, about ten minutes a side, and it came out perfect - a bit of char on the outside and moist inside.”

“They have Spicy Crab available. It's spicy, sweet, and the texture is like softer raw scallop. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It gets pretty messy, so I recommend using gloves when eating this dish.I'll have to review the meat and frozen soups after I try them.”

“Great ham! Unfortunately the last two years they don’t seem to have small or medium size hams no matter if you go early or not? Hmm…Left us to buy an $80.00 ham for two people!! Bad business or great marketing?”

“Love this little local spot for both the market and carnicería. I can pick up carne asada steak, chicken, marinaded taco meat, ribs and much more from the butcher. The grocery market is good too because you can also buy bread, canned goods, tortillas etc... it's basically a little local market. The people working the cash register and at the butcher are always very nice.”

“Though it's no fault of their own, but more a testament to their popularity, sometimes the butcher can get quite backed up. Last week when I visited in the early afternoon, before the evening rush l, someone was buying a couple hundred pounds of meat so it took a bit to get service. This happens mostly on or near the weekends, But with that said, the store is packed from floor to ceiling with fresh and marinated meats, cheese, fresh salsas, chapulines even! They sell tlayuda tortillas that you don't see often, huarache tortillas, unmarked bags of tortillas stacked in boxes(yes they're yummy) and a small produce section on the far side of the store. They also sell hot tamales and packaged Chile rellanos to take home and throw in the air fryer. The parking lot may be small so during busy times you may need to park next door or in the neighborhood (please be respectful of the neighbors if you have to park outside of the lot)”

“Very good place to shop at for your groceries. It does lack some basic items or the quality of some items could be better. They are under new ownership/management and I think it is for the best. The previous owner were getting old and careless. In fact, the meat department stunk up the entire store like unfresh meat & blood. Now it doesn't smell as bad, it seems like they're working on that. In case the owners weren't aware of this stench, it is very real. Please continue to work on it. Overall cleanliness, pretty good. Customer service, good.Wide range of inventory”

“My recent visit to the Sahara Market was quite pleasant but unusual. The extensive array of groceries, aromatic spices, and freshly baked bread showcased the authenticity and quality of their products. The integration of a restaurant within the store added an extra layer of convenience. What took me by surprise was the peculiar but manageable business process of requiring a minimum $10 total for card transactions or else you are required to pay in cash. While it might be an inconvenience for small purchases, it also encouraged me to explore more of the store's offerings. They certainly offer an extensive selection of items so in that respect I do recommend a visit... just be sure to bring cash.”

“It's a great store for me to get some Lebanese bread and jute leaves. They seem to have all the spices we can't find in other stores. I love their fresh goat meat and lamb.”
