As a working parent, having a trustworthy pre-school that also offers backup care was a game-changer for me, and that's what I found at La petit Their dedication to delivering excellent education and care shows in every aspect of their program. The staff is not only highly skilled but also very caring and responsive to each child's needs.
The facilities are outstanding, with neat, well-arranged classrooms and a range of learning materials that suit different interests and developmental levels.
Additionally, the communication from the school is superb. They keep parents well-updated on their child's day and any upcoming events or changes. It's obvious that the school values collaboration with parents.
I strongly recommend La Petit to any parent looking for a reliable and high-quality pre-school experience for their child.

We recently moved countries from Switzerland and my son started mid season at a Jr Kindergarten with Ms. Tanibet at Acorn. Coming from Switzerland, he didn't even know how to write and considering he was already behind other kids, we were so nervous whether he will be able to cope up with the change. But, we can't thank Ms. Tanibet enough, she has been a tremendous teacher. She worked so hard with him. There were initial days where he would not like to come home and do homework and now he not only loves writing and reading, he looks forward to going to school and loves doing his homework. The kind of confidence we have seen him in 4 months is simply amazing. We want to thank Ms. Tanibet for helping him at every step and Thank you all the teachers and facility at Acorn! We love the school, teachers and the facility.

Great school, both my kids go here and they love it and are learning so much. It's nice for the kids to be back in school and they have done a great job with the Covid precautions. Ms Dawn and Ms Shelly are wonderful! Ms Jana and Swarnali are amazing teachers and my 4 yo has learned not just the "book" knowledge but also day to day knowledge, for example how the moon orbits the earth, planting trees, all about animals and she even tells me to stop wasting water! A special note to Ms Sam and Ms Silvia for welcoming my younger one, she's been going for just 8 weeks now and loves it, so nice that she felt happy and safe immediately. The yoga and music classes are a great addition. It's nice to see my kids turning into well rounded kids. Thank you

I cannot say enough good things about Acorn and I am very happy with the education they provide to our kids and the service they provide to us parents. As a comparison, we decided to put our son in Little Bridges down the road and leave our daughter at Acorn. Yes, we tortured ourselves with the drop-off at two different preschool, but thought it would be worth it and good for both kids. If you are curious about my thoughts on Little Bridges, that will be posted on their yelp page Mid-May 2019. Long story short, we needed to bring our son back to Acorn. When he came back to Acorn (they welcomed him back with wide open arms), he was instantly behind and had to play catch-up academically. His handwriting was behind, math skills were behind, and he had to catch up on his sight words. The teachers were so accommodating! They spent extra time with him and gave him the extra attention he needed to catch back up with his classmates. We really love all the teachers and staff at Acorn. They truly care for and love the kids that are there and have a very warm approach. There is a very fair balance of authority and they are not afraid to do what is right. The administration is great and I believe their prices are fair.I noticed that some of the other reviews mention hidden fees, but I don't think the fees are hidden at all. They are a part of running a school and keeping our kids safe. Yes, there is an earthquake kit fee, yes there are add-on programs that you can sign up for with a fee, and yes it is expensive to raise kids and send them to preschool in this area. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this. Acorn is not the 99 cent stores of preschool, but it is also not the Barney's. If that is what you are looking for, than this school is not for you. If you are looking for a preschool that can help educate your toddlers, get them ready for kindergarten, have a safe place for them to be during the day that can provide you a piece of mind, a place where the teachers and administration genuinely cares for and loves your children, and a place that takes pride in the personal growth of their students, then Acorn is for you.Update: we continue sending our children here (they opened a Kindergarten class during COVID) and again we could not be happier. Specifically would like to give a huge shout out to Ms. Tanibet the Kangaroo class teacher who is a master communicator. She is frequently sending updates through the app so we always know what's going on. The curriculum in her class is fair but challenging. We can tell that she not only cares about her children, but enjoys watching them grow.

I switched to Acorn after we had some serious issues with a different facility in the Tri-Valley. From the beginning, Dawn and Shelly were a breath of fresh air. They truly cared for my son and the lifestyle of most two income families. Over the two years my son attended Acorn, his growth was exponential. He went from needing speech therapy to being fluent and having friends. Acorn worked with our schedule to ensure that it accommodated the many challenges of a three child family and two working parents. Our son loved attending and would look forward to going to class. He learned his entire alphabet, counting to 100s, some Spanish, and would come home singing everyday from school. I truly believe Acorn is one of the best preschools in the East Bay and would recommend it to anyone.
