“We were committed to nursing to give our baby the best we could but it was really hard! Whenever my poor wife tried to latch baby on, "kicking and screaming" was literally the description. He also arched back and used his skinny arms and tiny hands to push away the breast, so much we thought this little man just hated the breast and loved the bottle! My wife continued to pump and bottle feed for 6 weeks. Occasionally, she succeeded in nursing the baby (only in football hold). Then she saw Sylvia. After rocking our baby on an exercise ball and giving him physical therapy for about half hour, she passed the baby back and we were so surprised how soft and gooey his whole body felt. Sylvia explained that is the way babies should feel but often babies' muscles and bones get out of place during birth which makes it painful for them to latch on and nurse correctly. Well, we went home and that night, a miracle happened: My wife tried to nurse him before giving the bottle and he latched on like it was the most natural thing for him. We couldn't believe it! Two weeks after that, that baby boy had grown strong and big and refused any bottles. He only wanted milk fresh from Mommy! Thank you, Sylvia, for saving us so much formula money (we were supplementing since it was hard to get enough milk by pumping) and for being so helpful, kind and willing to share all your experience with us!”
“A fun and educational place to take kids. Check out their kids camps and classes with your aspiring scientists. The critters are cute too, and I loved their animal chairs.”
“I have gotten to work with, work for, and be a client for Valley Humane and every time I come away deeply impressed by their care, love, and thoughtfulness to everyone coming in their doors, two or four legged. Their facilities are beautiful, their services are exceptional, and their animals are wonderful.”
“We enjoy walking through the farmers market on Saturday's on our way to Cocino Mexico for lunch. Particularly like stopping by Bernal Bakery for a loaf of freshly made rye and a couple of peanut butter cookies, the best cookies we've had, ever. The people working there are quite friendly, like you've known them forever, we appreciate that. Nothing like a friendly community. All though we don't live in Pleasanton we make drive as it's well worth it. We start out our day from Castro Valley to San Leandro for the produce at the Bay Fair farmers market (they have the best selection of produce that we use) then out to Pleasanton for Bakery goodies.”

“I recently had a very positive experience with the Fall Prevention Program. I listened to a very informative presentation by Michelle and then had an excellent evaluation by Heather. Bob and Carl came to the house for the installation and they were extremely courteous and professional. I feel much safer in my home now and the entire process was outstanding.”

Mike at the front desk is very friendly and nice he says good morning to most people and and goodbye the doctor is really great and the counselors are phenomenal. They are not legal drug dealers in my eyes they are here to help you.”
“Be A Mentor is a generous organization that does what it says. I was paired with a youth & have had the great opportunity to mentor someone who clearly appreciates my time & effort & we work together to help him think ahead like an adult & get some additional advantages in life that he wouldn't be exposed to otherwise. Additionally, for those times when I am faced with new & unfamiliar challenges, I have a supervisor-type person to help me think things through & choose the right option to further help the kid. Faith is inspiringly supportive & she makes all of this effort very clear that we are here to help the kids be a better version of themselves.”
“I am just wondering if there is a way to reach somebody. I filled out an application for water assistance, I‘m sure you guys are busy but it’s been months. “My mom past away suddenly last year at Kaiser Redwood City. The thought of having our moms organs donated never came across our minds until Donor Network met with us. When they told us what their organization does, without hesitation we said yes. Our mom always said “it is more blessed to give than to receive” and we know she wanted this to be her last good act in life. They were very empathetic and comforting through the whole process. No pressure was given on us. They educated us on what was going to happen and always kept us in the loop. Til this day they keep in touch and I couldn’t be anymore grateful for them. They are amazing. Thank you.”
