John the manager and is Extremely rude and unprofessional. John was scary rude in front of several other customers & the very young girl working there. I'm appalled with my treatment!!!! I am the paying customer, this is not a free gift. There are no words for thebad-mannered,impolite, anddiscourteous treatment I received! I should have called the police with the insulting words and actions he used, taking my keys and saying he would not rent to me. I was in danger with John's horrible behavior toward me as a paying customer. I don't rent cars very often & the ridiculous communication of so many words that didn't even make sense. Sorry for the very young girl working there! I'm not kidding~ Stay away if you like service or kindness.

Each time I rented I was given a hard time. The manager said they take debit cards but I am always getting a hard time with the debit card. I use a debit because I don't have credit cards. You should not advertise debit if you don't want to use it. Furthermore. I get filthy cars and they have asked me for my social security number which I am not giving to the manager. With all these immigrants being hired in American jobs and I am 66 years old they can use my SSN. Plus I don't trust foreign people. Well I ask for a discount every time they gave me a filthy car. The first time I got a $100 off the 2nd time I got $100 off the 3rd time I got $380 off plus a $50 coupon on my next rental. So make sure when you get your car and it's filthy just call customer service and do a complaint online with Avis take pictures and attach them to your complaint. I told customer service next time this happen I am taking them to court.

Extremely rude and unprofessional service. They will try to double charge your card. It will take you a month to get those funds back. Cars are dirty. Stay away.

The WORST rental service I have ever had. Gave me a huge Grand Cherokee SUV and I called to see if I could pick up smaller car .... They said yes and drove next day 20 minutes each way and only had pick ups... on return, they would not drive me 1.2 miles to pick up my car in the shop "due to Covid". Really??? Front desk employees had been there 2 days/other employee one day.... That says it all!!!!

They overcharged me. This review is for Budget Rental Car. At the time of rental, they quoted $32/day for a mid-sized car but then charged my credit card $50/day after I returned the car (full of gas and no damage). The desk clerk couldn't explain why and had no discretion--totally unhelpful. I called the manager who never called back. Had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to make it right. Not worth the hassle next time.

I really don't understand all of the negative comments for Budget. Each & every experience I've had with this specific location has been fantastic! My latest experience:Last Friday (7/21/23). My car had already been in the shop for a couple of days & I needed to make a 5 hr trip over the weekend. Was advised car would not be ready until Monday ?Went to Costco to book wknd rental. Chose another firm over budget because price was a little better - mistakeWalked to the other place after work, only to be told they had no vehicles available & not sure why site was still allowing folks to rent.Panic began to set in as it was 440p & I was sure budget closed at 5p.Costco would not allow me to secure wknd rental from B on website, so I tried calling while walking to location..Extremely long story short, Elizabeth & Izael really helped me out! With less than 4 mins before closing, they got me into the type of vehicle I needed at a very fair price- given last min rental! ? ??Thank you....

Another terrible experience with Budget that required way too much work on my part.Reserved a car for the Christmas holiday. Showed up, and the location apparently had a break-in, so the associate on location just cancelled all rentals for the day. No call to let people know, no offer of help, no nothing. Their response was, "Yeah...you should probably call customer service."I then proceeded to spend the next hour+ on the phone with customer service. After going through 3 worthless CS reps that offered zero help, I was finally connected to a manager that found a car at SFO and offered to compensate me for a Lyft to get me there. Knowing that it was a holiday weekend and rental cars would be in extremely high demand, I confirmed with him no less than three times that the car was reserved and would be ready when I arrived. Every time, he reassured me, and even went so far to say that the regional manager was aware of the situation and made sure I would have a car once I arrived, and that my reservation had been appropriately transferred to the SFO location. After the 1hr drive to SFO, I was informed that no car had been reserved, and the only notes in the system indicated that my reservation was still set for the San Ramon location. After going through another set of CS reps and another manager, they finally offered me the last vehicle they had onsite, but informed me that I would have to talk to CS to get any price adjustments, and would be charging me the higher rate and higher SF taxes. After returning the vehicle, it took another three emails and three calls to CS to finally get the credit adjustments as promised.

We did an online prepaid reservation and when arrived they didn't wanted to give us the car. The system allowed us to rent the car for one person using my wife card, but at shop they said that even if the system allowed it and charged it, they will not give us the car. The manager was yelling to us over the phone and we end up calling customer service who said that it was the shop problem and they should be able to fix it and give us the car. Finally, after two lost hours, they gave us the car. Unfortunately, we realize now that they just charge us for a new car rental!!!! I have two charges and the second one doubles the price of the original. I am fighting to get my money back as they can't understand how I have two car rentals from the same car location. Worst experience ever, do not rent at this location, they do not know how to handle any issues and have no respect for the customer's time and money.

DO NOT TRUST Them. They confirmed reservation for a moving truck two weeks in advance. Said they had all sizes. Then two days before move they call and say they have no trucks available. Called their corporate support who said they would have inventory manager call me that day or next morning. Never called. Called them again and they said they would tell inventory manager it was urgent. Never called me again. When I asked one of their branch reps how they could make reservations and not have trucks, he said their system sucks. This company is a joke and should never be trusted. I'm stuck with all my moving arrangements set and no truck of any size available. They should be shut down.

In 13 years of writing Yelp reviews, this will be my 7th 1-star review because the experience was truly atrocious. Here's what happened: * Made a reservation 3 months in advance * Received confirmation at time of reservation plus a reminder the week of pick-up * On the DAY OF the reservation, got a phone call saying they had NO TRUCKS on the lot and "good luck" * The next day, they charged me a $75 "no show" fee Not only did they mess up, they tried to gouge me for their issues. What a joke. DO NOT BOOK WITH BUDGET TRUCK RENTAL. When I had to quickly pivot to another rental company, they were accurate AND had competitive pricing.

God forbid you need to make any changes to the reservation. The representatives over the phone are friendly and willing to help, but they are extremely incompetent. One person agreed to cancel my reservation and NOT include the $50 processing fee as a one-time courtesy, because I just needed to change the name under the reservation and was making a new one immediately after.I gave her all of my friend’s information over the phone. I spelled out her name twice and her email very slowly and clearly. She also tells me it’s only $442 now instead of $642. I ask her several times “are you sure? Did you make sure it’s the same car and the insurance and everything else is there?” She said yep, pricing must’ve changed. A day passes…no reservation email. I email customer service but don’t get a response until 3 full days later, saying I already canceled. Y’all didn’t catch the part where I made a new one under my friend’s name ???I call back and am able to get the confirmation #. I check the reservation, and several things are wrong. My friend’s name, email address and age are all wrong.I call to change these. This rep asks if I can change that online. (You can only change the email hence why I’m calling…) He says there’s a system update right now so he can’t change anything either. He said it’ll be fine to tell the Budget people at the desk when I get there.Oh and I was still charged the $50. Called Budget, they said they can’t refund that; I’ll have to bring it up to the rental desk and ask them to waive the $50 charge.UPON ARRIVAL, even worse, we had given our credit card details earlier over the phone, because we wanted the exact same reservation I had made earlier (including the prepaid price). The charge remained pending and did not end up going through, so for some reason, Budget Customer Service canceled that reservation and made a new one that was PAY LATER without telling us. So we were forced to pay an extra $34 at the desk…

I had to rent a car as my van had to be in a shop for two days. The check in process at Budget was smooth and fast. However, the car not so much. First, the car was dirty from the outside. Bird droppings and dirt was all over the car, so I had to take it for a quick rinse. Also, there was a strong cigarette odor that lingered. At first I didn't smell it as much as I had my facial mask on. I thought the car needed to be aired out. So, I aired out the car while driving and when I arrived home. But, the odor lingered. It was becoming unbearable that I had to purchase an air freshener. Not sure why they didn't fix the odor issue, as I saw a note on the wall that read that if the rental had a strong odor smell, they will charge the last person who rented the car $175 for cleaning. I'm wondering where the $175 went to. Overall, I am just rating the good service I received but the car really hampered with my rating.
