This is only for the service of needing to put my dog down as that's the only time I used them. Everyone was compassionate and appreciate that after the front desk knew why I was there let me go directly to the exam room rather than sit in the lobby. They explained what was going on and let me stay with him.

I brought my dog in to get his parvo shot. Dr. Campappelletti suggested we test him first, I agreed even though he hadn't been anyplace other than on my grass in my backyard. She then came in and said he tested positive, and suggested we hospitalize him for 48 hours for$5000.00-when I said I'm not doing that, he has no symptoms. I still had to pay $500. for hydration, anti nausea which he was neither, and an antibiotic which he didn't need. Confused on why she thought that- I brought him to another vet to have him tested and he did (NOT) have parvo, he did get his shots along with a rabies shot. Talk about up-selling!!

I've been going to Bishop Ranch Vet for over 20 years, they are not what they used to be. Both Dr. Scott's are amazing, but the organization itself is awful. My concerns started about 10 years ago, but I liked their hours and some of the Veterinarians and have stayed. I will no longer be a customer after being hung up trying to make an appointment. Here is the straw that broke the camels back: Their answering messages says you will be called back within two hours. I called Thursday and Friday last week and did not receive a call back. This has never happened before. On Saturday I called and got a live person and inquired about the no callback. The call log was checked and my calls were logged as "returned, did not reach customer". I said this must be a mistake because that did not happen. I was then told maybe my answering machine was full or I didn't answer the call. I explained that I gave them a cell phone number and their were no missed calls from BRV and my vmail is definitely not full. I was then told with insistence that's what it says on the log. While I was about to ask to speak with a manager, I was cut off and told appointment availability was only during Urgent Care appointment times (aka most expensive times) for the next two weeks. I again tried to ask to speak with a manger and was again told appointment times were____. I was getting upset for not being listened to, and was basically told to accept what the call logs said and then was hung up on. I had just spent over 2k on dental surgery and this is how I was treated days later. I wonder if the person who is not calling people back and logging that they did is the same person answering the phone and hanging up on you. It would be awful if there was more than one frontline employee treating customers like this!

I'm more disappointed with BRV than I can say. We were one of the first patients in to the practice...when Dr. James Pogrel was our vet. We had 2 maltese dogs and he was more than amazing for our regular care and for emergency service. He knew who we were and always made us feel so much better than I can say. We had to leave for my husbands job, and returned after 10 years...to a rude, uncaring mess. Our Doctor is on sabatiCal...so we are dealing with those people who are left. I couldn't get through to the practice after several tries over the past couple of weeks to make an appointment for our current dog for a check up and teeth cleaning...and while I've gone through the phone prompts, no one has returned my call. I called after hours to complain...and the person who answered hung up on me. DO NOT USE THIS VET SERVICE!!!! What if I had an emergency???? I can't imagine trying to complain or explain and being hung up on!!! I'm so regret it...but the people who answer the phones have ZERO customer service training. I'm on track for a new vet...please let me know if anyone can recommend another practice.

Dr Vega is amazing! My kitten had a tummy since we got him and we struggled to resolve it. When things got pretty bad I researched and found Bishop Ranch Vet and was able to get a same day appointment. Dr Vega thoughtfully checked out our kitten and created a plan to resolve the problem. So grateful for Dr Vega's help making our kitten few better!!!

We had an awful experience with this company. We scheduled an appointment to have a growth on our dog's paw checked out. We received a confirmation text after we got off of the phone. Fast forward to the day of the scheduled appointment... we show up at the scheduled time to find out that the doctor decided to take a vacation and not reschedule our appointment. The front desk lady could care less about the time we took to bring our dog in. She recommended that we come back later that night to their Urgent Care but said it would cost more. She offered no help from their mishandling of our appointment. We decided to use another local vet and we're very happy with their service.

My childhood pets and siblings pets have always gotten care at bishop ranch. They are AMAZING! Their urgent care staff is prompt, empathetic, genuine, and overall kind. I recently had a horrible visit at another vet (review is posted on my profile). In my time of frustration and anger, I called BRV urgent care to just get advice on a solution to my problem and they were just the biggest help. They gave me options on how to fix my problem, they were understanding that I was frustrated and panicked, and they were overall helpful in every way. I will start taking my Kitten to BRV from now on. I would give 5 stars as their pricing is a bit out of my range. Other than that I have no complaints from the service I've been provided from Bishop Ranch Vet. Keep being amazing!

Recently we had a need for urgent kitty care and we we're lucky enough to get an appointment for urgent care at Bishop Ranch after reading the great reviews. My kitty was relatively stable and they had an emergency so we had to wait about an hour before being seen. They told me this as soon as we checked in, and took my kitty to the back to a quiet space, so she wouldn't be distrubed with all the traffic in the lobby. In the time I was in the lobby I witnessed all staff going above and beyond to help patients and their owners. This included both routine care appointments and the stressful experience of urgent care with your furry loved one. Staff were competent, caring and willing to go the extra mile. At no time was anyone rushed or pressured. I had the same experince with my own interactions with staff. The bad news was my kitty ended up needing to be hospitalized at BR, which was very upsetting. But again the staff made it easier on me, reassuring me she would be carried for, that I could visit and that I would receive updates. While in hospital, I recieved updates form the Vet approximately 3 times a day with info about how my kitty was doing and discussion of next steps. It was clear that not only did they spend significant time with my pet (observing personality traits, symptoms, etc), they also really cared about her. After discharge from the hospital, I even received follow-up calls to check how my kitty was doing, which meant a lot to me. They made a difficult situation, so much better. We will definitely be switching to Bishop Ranch for all our pets routine care as well as urgent care when needed. As anyone with pets knows, veterniary care is expensive- however I find their prices to be inline with much less well equipped and less competent vets I have been to. They also were very transparent providing both a low and high end estimate for the care. And to those reviewers who complained that they could not get their pet in at the last minute and felt they should have been able to squeeze long time clients in. That's not how human medical care works and neither should veterinary care. Of course you hope they canhelp you, but if it would negatively affect their ability to provide the best care- especially for urgent/emergency care, I'd rather they be honest and refer me to a facility than can meet the urgent need. There should be no expectation that just because you are a long time client that you should get priority, in front of other pets with more urgent needs.

Highly recommended on this place!!! I would like to thank Adam second time for taking care of our dog and doing a wonderful job at our dog surgery and keeping me updated all the time in all the process and after that. Thank you Adam Scott for giving our dog a better life. I would like also to thank all the team at Bishop Ranch on the warm treatment for my dog and for all the patience to explain us all the information that we need to know about the recovery of our dog after the surgery and to answer all our questions and concerns that we have also over the phone. we are glad that we found that great place for our dog!!

I went today and saw Dr. Cain. Is it too much to say I love her? What an outstanding bedside manner as well. I just went for a consult (reproductive things) and I left knowing so much more info! Me and my frenchie girl Ms. Stunna recommend her and this hospital. 5 Stars all the way -

My buddy & I just moved to Walnut Creek. And asked several people, for Vet recommendations. We heard Bishop Ranch the most. So mommy made the appointment. Wouldn't you know it my 4yr old who's never really been sick. Had to be taken to there Urgent care clinic. They we're fantastic everyone, front desk, Dr. , tech & the people who work next door. I had a issue that night, when I brought him home. And had to call, they we're very understanding. Even promising to call in the am to see how he was doing. Wow Everybody knows Chiefy, so they asked how he was. I of course raved about his wonderful treatment @ BR. And the cost was just as nice Big Thanks, Mommy & Chief

We just started taking our dog here after getting constantly frustrated with our old vet. I wish we had switched soon! They have been nothing but considerate and caring towards our dog, Nala. She just got 2 bulbs removed and the whole day of surgery as well as leading up to it, they were incredibly kind and informative. They don't try tough costly things on you if they don't feel it is necessary. The best part was they called when my dog was right out of surgery and allowed me to move up pick up time. We love them!

This review is only for bishop ranch vet's handling of prescriptions. Costco is 1/2 the price but when I ask them to call it in they don't follow through. This is the second time I had to make numerous calls to the vet and to Costco just to get my meds. My dog is in pain and doesn't have the meds she needs. They only called in 1 out of 3 of my prescriptions. This happened before and they take days to respond to refill requests very inefficient.
