This bank has very conservative lending standards. That's great for the bank and keeps this bank on a stable setting. It's not great for receiving the best rates on your savings. I have kept a safety deposit box at west America bank for many years. I pay them annually. This is okay with me. I place my dollars elsewhere.

We have had checking and savings accounts at Westamerica for decades, having decided that a local bank would provide better service than a national bank. Boy were we wrong. For the first time in many years, we actually needed some personal service from Westamerica, and we found out that the service is horrible. We set up an account for our daughter who is going to college, and it has taken months to get a debit card, and she can't even make deposits remotely because they put a 90 day hold on making deposits (without telling us in advance). They don't want to accept her paychecks??? Not only is the service from the call centers horrible, when we went into the branch the branch employees were rude and dismissive. They grilled my daughter with questions assuming everything was her fault before finding out that they had given us misinformation and there was nothing that they could (or would) do to help. They had zero concern for being kind or helpful to customers who have banked with Westamerica since the 80s. We're definitely changing banks. Why put up with the limited services a local bank has to offer if you can't at least get some decent service?

I've had accounts there a few years. I recently withdrew them all. The staff there are not polite as other bank tellers. There is one lady there that never has said "your welcome," after I have said thank you. Not sure why but suspect it's my race.

My company uses this bank, so I am here several times a week. The tellers are friendly and when there is an accounting issue, of course never my fault, they are helpful and knowledgeable. I live out of the area so don't bank with them personally but if I lived where there was a branch I would definitely bank here. There is almost never a line, but when there is it moves fast.

This is the worst bank I have ever done business with. I had my business account here years ago and they close too early among other annoyances. Today I went in to cash a check written from this bank at this branch and they wanted to charge me a $10 fee because I don't have an account with them. Interesting that they can tell the money is in this personal account, but he's been a customer for 10 years or so. I can't believe they can stay in business.

Friendly staff, limited wait time, convenient location. It is a bank so the aesthetics are a little dull but the customer experience is great!

I love this bank and in particular this branch. My mom and I have been customers since way back, when they were Bank of Marin. My mom is elderly now and they have been amazing in helping me when my mom became the victim of fraud and was conned out of quite a bit of money. They pay attention to small details with our accounts and call when anything seems amiss. I know I would not get this kind of attention at a large bank. I especially want to give a long over-due shout out to Susan La, the bank officer and Shirley, the on-call teller. Each of them were extremely sensitive and helpful with the entire experience. They helped with many details that needed to be changed and followed up on. It would have been easy for things to get over-looked, but they took care of everything.

Nice folks. Their hours are terrible. Their technology is circa 1995, and it seems confuse them. But they are nice and they will greet you by name. That's a rare thing nowadays. I recommend the bank.
