I rented a viola for my fourth grader. Clive was super helpful in helping figure out which instrument for my son the best for his 4th grade orchestra practice. He was very attentive and thorough explaining each instrument and the breakdown of the rental agreement. This is our second great experience with the magic flute shop!

Greeted upon entering store, offered to help by staff, left alone to look, offered advice when asked, friendly and efficient check out. All in a clean, well-organized store, net/ net exceeded my expectations!

Very friendly staff, great selection of music books, and sometimes odd curious things I don't see elsewhere. Bought a very reasonably priced kalimba for my collection, and happy with it. Previous bought tongue drum too.

I absolutely love this music shop! As a nanny, I often stop by the nearby coffee shop in the mall, and during our walks, the kids and I love to pop into this store. The selection of instruments is incredible, and it's always a fun and educational experience for the little ones.
The staff here are amazing—super friendly and welcoming. They take the time to engage with the kids, showing them different instruments and even tuning their ukulele for them! The kids always have tons of questions, and even though they're not in music lessons right now, they dream of starting their own band someday.
What I appreciate most is that there's no pressure to buy anything. The staff genuinely enjoy chatting with you and explaining the instruments they have, making the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.
If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by and checking it out. It's a great place for music lovers of all ages!

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a music store! I ran across The Magic Flute online when I was looking for a used instrument. I contacted them asking questions, and they got back to me right away to help. They made sure the instrument was in great condition before sending it over, and made the whole process very seamless! Every single employee I had spoken to on the phone and through messaging was absolutely wonderful. Mike especially helped me very much! He walked me through it all. Even from across the country (as I reside in Florida), it was very easy. I am thankful to have found a company that takes care of their customers in such a way! I recommend this shop to all musicians!

I was in a jam, having sold an instrument on Reverb and was cleaning up and getting ready to package up and ship. I discovered while cleaning that some of the detail trim was detaching from the solid wood body. After bringing it to some JV guitar techs, I had finally had it and called Christian. I explained the problem to Christian, who immediately told me that it was a common occurrence due to an issue in the manufacturing process and to bring it in. Not only did he fix the problems as if the problem never existed, he completed the job expeditiously as I had committed to the buyer I would ship to him on 9/9. There’s no better shop in Northern California that I am aware of, the only other person I would trust with my instruments is Amy @ Eric Schoenberg’s in Tiburon. Unfortunately, she’s no longer there. But she would be my second choice behind Christian, who is THE BEST. As are all of his employees. In all businesses, the tone and attitude of its staff is instilled by its Leaders.
“This is a Little story about four people named everybody, somebody, anybody and nobody. There was an important job to be done and everybody was sure that somebody would do it. Anybody could’ve done it, but nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could’ve done.”

They are very professional, helpful and always do an excellent job, whether it is giving valuable advice when shopping for a new instrument or servicing any old instrument. Their prices are also very reasonable and competitive. I have been a long time customer of Magic Flute (from the days when I used to rent instruments from them for my children when they were in school).
