I needed a pull down roller shade repaired, and when I brought it in, the quote was $55. I found that a bit high, so decided to search online. I found a new screen would cost between $113-$167 and so I decided to save the $$ and went back to Shades of Marin. But a different employee said the first quote was a mistake and that the repair would actually cost $95, and it would take them weeks to get the part. I decided I would rather invest that towards a brand new shade. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch routine! I wasted two round trips totaling 44 miles, with gas currently costing over $5 a gallon.

Several years ago Shades of Marin installed window coverings throughout my house. Recently I replaced most of the windows and the window workers did a poor job of re-hanging the shades after completing the window installation. Shades were falling down as I opened/closed them! I called Shades of Marin and they sent someone over to fix the problem. After he left, I realized I had forgotten to tell him about one repair. I called the office and they sent him back the next day at no additional charge! Both the office (Eric) and the repairman (Adam) were very professional and courteous. Great customer service! Thank you.

Nice showroom but was really disappointed with communication. I talked with a fellow on the phone who made it seem that they repair blinds. So I drove over with my broken blinds only to find that they they don't really fix blinds (only warranty work on stuff they sell). What was more perplexing is that they couldn't even refer me to a person who could do the repair. This from a company who has "been in the business" since 1954?! For those in need of expert, fairly price repairs (and new blind sales too!) please call these guys:

Shades of marin has provided our properties with quality window coverings since 2008. They always graciously repair any broken pull, usually without charge. Yesterday I took in a seriously wonky waffle shade and learned it had a warranty that expired 4 days earlier. They honored the 7 year warranty! I didn't even know it had a warranty and had planned to replace it. Always happy with the product and service, but now a lifetime customer.

Shades of Marin is incredible! We purchased two retractable awnings and they have saved our home this summer. The awnings are beautiful and open and close with the push of a button. It was a great solution to our south-facing windows. We thought we might build an arbor over the rear deck but this awning is so much better. We can chose whether we want shade or sun whereas we couldn't do so with an awning. SOM was great from start to finish. Eric, Rolando and the crew could not have been nicer or more professional. The installation was done in less than a day and they installed the electric cord so it's not obvious to the eye. We highly recommend this company and these beautiful awnings.

We have used Shades of Marin for over 25 years. It's a great local company, especially Sean Dwyer who recently helped us with some readjustments. He was so knowledgeable and efficient. Use Shades of Marin and ask for Sean D!

Sorry but you may have a great showroom and sales staff, but when it came to the installation I couldn't be more disappointed.

While the 2 ladies up front were super, Eric was a genius, fixing a product with spare parts and ingenuity...
