This place is the BEST in Marin for all car problems or car needs. I have been taking my cars to Marcel for 10 years now. I can always count on Parker Automotive for my car issues. I know I can trust them with any car issues and am in good hands. What a relief to have the best mechanic who knows what they are doing. Their prices are fair and every dollar is worth paying . I took my truck in for a timing belt replacement. They did the replacement but my truck still didn't start -- their conclusion was that the motor was dead. My year and model truck has a particularly finicky timing belt alignment system. I asked if they would double check to make sure it was installed correctly. They said "no no no, we did it right, it's just dead." I took it to another place. The new mechanic said that the timing belt was installed INCORRECTLY, just like I suspected. He also discovered that they had inexplicably removed two spark plugs. He had the truck running in half a day's work. Pretty good for a 'dead' motor! I had to pay Parker Auto for services that were ultimately not rendered, plus I had to incur the cost of towing my truck away from their shop, getting the timing belt done properly, and parts and labor on those spark plugs. I'm in the process of filing a claim with the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair to get a refund. If that's the kind of experience you want, go to Parker.

Reliable and honest mechanics are hard to come by, but Parker Automotive is one of them. Family owned, with a small shop in San Rafael, these guys are patient, attentive, realistic, and reasonably priced.

Back when Don was running the ship things were cool. Last year after trying to charge me $600+ for changing out the turn signal switch and leaving me with no horn I split. Having just taken my new back to my new Jeep specialist mechanic in San Rafael (Phil, Golden Gate Jeep), he discover that they had cut several wires to my turn signal and removed a relay. Total cowboys. Stay away.

I literally love this place so much! I recommend them to anyone! They are patient and very helpful! I was super stressed out about my car, and they took the time to diagnose the issue, and didn't give up on solving the problem. Now my car is working great, and it didn't cost nearly as much as a dealer would! As I said I before, I recommend Parker Automotive to anyone looking to fix there car! Super appreciative!
