J & G Automotive doesn't exist anymore. The lease of their old location at 633 Irwin St. in San Rafael has been taken over by another entrepreneur, and the sign on the building is now "House of Brakes". House of Brakes works on all makes of cars, and does all types of car repairs. I don't know why J & G Automotive's website is still online with no mention of the fact that they are out of business. When you call the phone number on the J & G Automotive website, you get House of Brakes instead. They told me on the phone that they still work on Jaguars, so I assumed that a new proprietor had taken over their jag repair business, but that's not really the situation. The certified jaguar technicians that used to work at J & G Automotive have moved on. None of the techs at House of Brakes are Jaguar Certified mechanics. But, I'm not saying they don't work on Jaguar cars--they work on all makes and models of cars. DISCLOSURE: I showed up this morning, and drove down Irwin St. looking for J & G Automotive, which no longer exists. Google Maps directed to me "House of Brakes" at 633 Irwin St. Now there's no customer waiting room or wifi service. I talked to the owner, Armand, and he agreed to do a diagnostic for my 2003 Jaguar for $160. He says he'll try to get to it today. I'm hanging out at the Starbucks next door until he calls me.

I recently sold my Mini Cooper because of the pandemic and not needing it anymore to commute to work. I was telling my wife one of the things I will miss the most about having the Mini is taking my car to be serviced at J & G. They are always great to deal with. They were always kind, honest and did great work.

J & G have been fantastic. We moved over to them for maintenance and repairs for our Range Rover after years with the dealer. So much better, and a great value. Excellent service and expertise.

Experts. They are honest mechanics and can fix any issue on Land Rovers, Jags and Minis. J&G also has easy and convenient online updates regarding the service status for your car. Awesome customer service and professional.
