I’ve had the pleasure of working with Daniel, who goes above and beyond to ensure safety and a clean, thorough job. Amazing service! I was looking at a $2200 repair bill on our Highlander at Toyota San Rafael Service and decided to get a second opinion. Armand asked if I had an hour to wait while they diagnosed the issue (which I did). In fifteen minutes they had sussed out the problem and got the repair completed 30 minutes later. They were able to do what the Toyota mechanics completely missed and it didn't require new replacement parts and extensive labour costs. In the end they saved us $2000 of unnecessary repair costs. Their team was professional and friendly. They also mentioned that the brake pads were due for replacement in about 2000 miles. I am proud to say that I am now their newest customer. I will be bringing our Highlander in for all future service and repair needs. Also, they work on MINIs, which will make my wife very happy as well.

Armand was very helpful over the phone and gave me a quote while I was on the phone. My 03 civic needed bearings and hub. I called a few other places around and their pricing was very reasonable. I scheduled the repair over the phone. Armand was helpful in person as well and honored the price he mentioned over the phone. He test drove my car before and after to make sure the issue was resolved. They also took pictures of everything and when asked they also sent them to me. They uncovered other issues on my car and shared the pictures of those issues with me to confirm. The work was done very quickly and my car runs well now. Highly recommend Armand and house of breaks!

House of Brakes is the BEST. This is a wonderful family-owned business that have been taking care of us for many years. Armand, Sonia and Jonathan are attentive, kind, and serious about the good work they do for their customers, with their friendly and knowledgeable staff. We call them our miracle workers and are always so happy with the attention to detail they take and how during the entire process they really talk with us about our car issues. It is rare to find care like this, especially with something that can be so stressful. Armand and his Family take that worry away and make you feel truly attended to. I got high repair quote from the dealer and went to house of Breaks for second opinion....house of break check my car and said that no repairs needed just the replacement of a $5 battery in my car ... Honest car repair place !!!!

Wonderful experience today at House of Brakes. Sonia was kind, courtesy and outgoing. She quoted a better price than i had received elsewhere for rear brake pad and rotor replacement. She had the technician check the other tires not needing replacement to ensure I received accurate information.I also needed tires so went to a local shop while I waited. Although they found a great deal on run flat tires, Sonia recommended I go see Nick at Cains Tire, who was able to quote me a better price!!!Although I didn’t want to part with $$$, I found today’s experience with HofB and Sonia to be rewarding and money saving. Please give them a call for your automotive needs!

I have been taking my cars for service and repair at house of brakes for years. I was referred to them by my neighbor who is a car guy. It is a family business that makes you feel like you are a part of the family, they are honest, fair, and never recommend anything that is not necessary. Since meeting them I am so greatful for their service and will not go anywhere else. I very highly recommend trying them. I recommended them to all my friends. They are a great value.

If you're looking for an honest place, that'll save you $ and unnecessary repairs, this is your place. Especially from those way overpriced dealers, who are always trying to up charge and fix something that's not broken! A family owned/run business that knows their stuff. They do excellent work and will do their best to have you outta there ASAP. They also have great connections with other types of repairs, including a tire shops across the street. They usually know within a short time, what the problem is and will do their best to give you a reasonable price. Sure there might be cheaper mechanics, but my car is my livelihood I need reliable-NOT cheap repairs. They've helped me on many occasions when I've come by in a panic. They're just a lovely family run business, that knows their stuff. I even have warranty on my new car, but will go there first as I trust them to let me know the real deal. I'm on my second car and 12 years later, still my mechanics. They also used to help me with my homeless clients, when they were trying to purchase a car. Whether it was a lemon. Just a lovely family who practice honest business principles!

: have been a customer for a few years and by mistake I went to their old location. I discovered they had moved but the new people had a special going for $39 on a oil change, I decided to go for it only to discover at the end that my bill was for $105 because I needed synthetic oil. This was not mentioned when I agreed to the oil change. Next they stated that my front brakes were down to virtually nothing and they could do a brake and rotor job for just $450. I decided to visit House of Brakes, my trusted car specialists. They did a thorough inspection and stated that I did not yet need new brakes! That I still had plenty of pads left for my normal driving! That was great news and a real savings. When I went to pay for the inspection, they said it was no charge! So one company tries to sell me service I dont need and House of Brakes, does a service at no charge. No brainer- House of Brakes

I started going to Armand when he just took over a shop on 2nd street in San Rafael sometimes in the mid 80s, I will wait for him to replace my brakes and look over the car and gave me a clean bill of health on all my cars. not everyone make that extra effort unfortunately, as I aged, my vehicles followed my steps, but always in good health. I do and will highly recommend his shop to all my acquaintances as it became a family affair, with his son and wife in tow.
