Warning to the community: I had an extremely negative experience with Ryan Newman, a CPA my mother and I trusted with my personal and business taxes. I feel it's important to share my story to prevent others from going through a similar ordeal. Ryan not only failed to file the necessary tax extensions for us, but he also evaded taking responsibility for his mistakes. This resulted in unnecessary IRS penalties and wasted months of my time. When I confronted him about the issue, he claimed that the extension was sent by mail, but there was no proof or evidence to support his statement. It was his word against the IRS, and unfortunately, I believed him, only to be let down later. (Pic #001). After waiting for months, I decided to use a different firm for 2022 Taxes. Not even a day after we did so, he found out about it and sent us a "goodbye" email implying that he was exempt from all responsibilities and negligence as we used a different CPA. (Pic #002) What's even more concerning is the unprofessional and deceptive behavior I experienced when dealing with Ryan. When I called him to seek further clarification, he not only raised his voice but also accused me of harassing his employees. This was completely unfounded and a shocking response, especially considering my polite and gentle approach. To my dismay, I later discovered negative reviews from other clients who had similar encounters with him over the phone. It seems like his disrespectful behavior was not an isolated incident, but rather a pattern of behavior. In an attempt to resolve the situation in person, I visited Ryan's office with a witness. However, he showed a complete lack of professionalism and respect. He hastily dismissed us, claiming to be too busy to assist, leaving us no choice but to leave as he shut the door. Shortly after, I received an email from him once again trying to evade responsibility for his negligence. (Pic #003) My experience with Ryan Newman as a CPA was nothing short of a nightmare. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for others to be aware of his lack of integrity, work ethic, and overall unprofessionalism. I deeply regret trusting him with something as delicate as my family and business taxes, and I strongly advise others to seek alternative options when it comes to their financial matters.

Would not use their services. The Managing director I spoke with was one of the nastiest people I have dealt with in my 40 years of experience.

Ryan, Joanne, Sheri, Jim and the entire team at Bridgewater have a calm presence as they wade through the subtle details of business and personal accounting needs. They respond quickly, are honest about what they know and what they need to check up upon, engage appropriately with the right set of questions, and ultimately have recommendations which are practical, cost effective, and realistic.

I switched to Bridgewater a few years ago and the experience has been phenomenal. The staff is all very friendly, no one ever seems annoyed when I have lots of questions or need a lot of support with my books. I’ve been surprised in the past how grumpy people are even when you’re paying them and this company is nothing like that. They give great guidance on helping you keep your hard earned money and have helped my business thrive over the past few years. I feel good knowing I have such a great team when I need them (and I need them a lot because my accounting skills are zilch). They are currently helping me during the sale of my business to ensure I keep the maximum amount of profit in my pocket. I will miss this team when we move out of state. I highly recommend them to everyone!!

About a couple years ago my mom passed away unexpectedly and I needed a CPA firm. I called them to set up an appointment and they had me meet with Ryan personally. I brought a list of questions and he was very patient to listen to them. He provided answers and as he continued to explain the process I was very taken with how incredibly smart this guy is. Anytime I have a question I can email and I get a response within 24 hours no charge. They have a great online portal interface for their clients which allows you to upload documents. Every month they send out an email with very helpful business and personal finance articles. They have a set fee for handling your taxes. If you want peace of mind and a company that is there for you it will not charge you for every little thing this agency is worth it.

Although My husband and myself are what would be called a "small potatoes" client, Bridgewater has always been fully engaged for us. Respectful, no matter how simplistic the questions. Not only helping us with our taxes, ( always a mystery,) but with sound financial perspective as to our situation as well.
