This place is a great service to both residents of San Rafael as well as artists. There are too few art studios available to rent in Marin County, and not only are these studios lovely, the organization has three different galleries inside providing more opportunities to show your artwork. A wondrous labyrinth of artists. Do not be fooled by the small gallery as seen from the street; there is lots to see here!
Art Works Downtown, Inc, is a 501(c)3 non-profit art center. Located on Fourth Street, our 40,000 square-foot building houses four galleries, 33 art studios, a jewelers guild, frame shop, ceramic center, restaurant, and more. We feature new exhibits and events every month including the popular 2nd Friday Art Walk.
