This PETCO for the most part disappoints me 80 percent of the time. It's the neighborhood big box Pet store and we try to support those places. Why the one star? My appointment is at 1:45 but it does not matter. It's chaos when I walk with my pet friend. Five other owners are there with their pets to check-in or check-out. You see they have an antiquated information system so the database barely retains your last visit. So for five years they continually ask me for a rabies shot that I've shown them eight times. Or better yet they put it in their system and it disappears from the screen as soon as they save it. Yes I've pre-registered online and then uploaded the paperwork with a confirmation and it doesn't matter I still get asked for my pets Rabies shots. Which on average takes 15 - 20 mins to log in. I'm sure the employees are going mad with frustration. They really want small dogs or short hair dogs. There are no real discounts from my point of view unless you join Vetco. The point system doesn't really deliver anything. All Saturday appointments are overbooked and to make matters worse half the staff is there wanting to disqualify your dog from being groomed or serviced. Who wants to be scheduled for a confirmed grooming appointment to be turned away. Save yourself time and go to another groomer. PETCO close the grooming departments most of them are not scrutinized enough and meeting standards. Sniff I've seen this type of service before and I smell Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Merry Christmas.

Gross and filthy location. Their reptiles had mites all over them, especially when they had scorpions for sale.

Had a very positive experience vet & tech were wonderful. Very reasonable price. Will make this my recently adopted cat's permanent vet.

Please clean a restroom and all other areas. I saw roaches. I've never seen roaches in any other stores. Also restroom stinks. Is there no a manger around? I also worry about pets for adoption. Is it suitable to do that in this filthy dirty smelly store?Used to love this store but not anymore

I struggled with posting this but it needs to be known I was wrongfully accused for saying "go F-yourself " to a female who called me to reschedule an dental op for my dog on the June 15. I never said that . I was understanding and polite but she was rude to me as she was when I had been there a week prior for my dogs blood work. I think she is deflecting from her bad behavior which I would not have complained about and let it go but when she blatantly lied about me it needs to be known. She does not reflect the other staff who have been great

If there are long lines, I'm not sure why a manager doesn't jump in to help. I watched a manager avoid the line twice. Yes, I'm being a Karen, but I'm Latinx so hopefully I'm a little less annoying.

Brought my dog in several weeks ago to get her nails cut. They ended up cutting her paw and she needed to be taken to the vet because it wouldn't stop bleeding. I had to go for a couple of follow ups. When the vet took off her bandages, he said she needed to use an antibacterial wipe made for dogs to be used after she walked for the week to make sure she didn't get an infection. Although Petco paid for everything else for the vet, I was told today that they had refused to pay for the bacterial wipes, and that it was my responsibility -- bad enough that my dog got hurt and that I had to spend additional time taking her to the vet for follow ups. Absolutely not OK that they did not pay for everything associated with this! Will never use Petco grooming again.

Terrible place I was there at a appointment last week with my poodle and over heard the doctor say the n word while another technician by the name of jade laughed with her . Very unprofessional place and lot of the employees had bad hygiene I literally could not fathom smell of rotten fish , menstrual blood and yellow teeth . If it wasn’t the anesthesia that put my dog to sleep it would’ve been the smell .

Long time Petco shopper and huge animal lover! I come here quite a bit to this location and shop for all my animals, plus grooming for my dogs. This rating and review today is thanks to Nate, he was amazing! Friendly, polite, awesome energy and just an overall amazing person. I can't thank him enough for the kind service and being a friendly reminder why I always shop Petco! Thank you!

I went to Petco's pet hospital called VETCO. I had a couple of vaccinations and tests done there. I brought my records on my phone -- went back out my car to get those records. Now they don't have them -- which is pretty irrelevant to my problemPer the doctor I was told I could get a prescription for my dog when her weight stabilized... which should have been the next visit, as my dog crossed the 22 pound mark -- and the heart worm/flea medication was for dogs 22 to 40 pounds Per the doctor, I was told that all I had to do was have my puppy weighed and I could get the prescription. The woman at the front desk refused on behalf of some unseen person / doctor in the back The following month I got the same song and dance and the woman at the front desk acted like I was trying to get away with something. I asked for a prescription AGAIN. She refused stating I needed proof of a SECOND heart worm test. She said she knew my dog would pass but it was required When I asked for PETCOs requirements she could not provide them. She gave me documents from AKC recommending a second heart worm test. There IS NO PETCO POLICY stating a prescription can be withheld if I don't pay for another unnecessary doctor visit and a second test The woman at the front desk is trying to get an extra $100 plus out of me three visits after I was told I could have the prescription so I can price shop the SIMPARICA medication. I decided I was done with PETCO/ VETCO and asked for my dog's records today - no phone call back, no recordsI filed a BBB complaint and requested a refund for the last exam -- since they are illegally (?) refusing to give me the prescription

Do not come here. Susan at the front of Vetco total care. Unprofessional and very rude! I was 15 minutes late to my apt and she asked Dr. Tran would see my dog, they said no. Both Susan and Dr. Tran are very unprofessional and extremely rude! I came all the way from Marina del Rey (an hour away), this is unacceptable service!!!They said they were "too busy". I waited for an extra 35 minutes, nobody else came through. They just did not want to see me.Susan then told me if I wanted to wait it would be $110 for urgent care instead of $70 for the appointment that I made!Horrible service!! Do not come here. Susan and Dr Tran, shame on you!

I love this place. I signed up for dog training with my 4 yrs old toy poodle, Chou Chou. I was a bit nervous and skeptical about the dog training at Petco. I signed up for 4 lessons of one on one sessions. James was the trainer, he was such a nice person and a great trainer. Chou Chou and I really liked him. He gave us homework and he was very efficient in instruction and very helpful. I look forward to our next lesson. I will sign up for more lessons for sure. Thank you. James B and Peco San Pedro.
