I am glad I was able to take my cat Taffy, to this clinic. Staff is friendly and I appreciate the check ins from Dr. Harding. She was able to figure out what was wrong with Taffy. And Taffy is feeling better and on her way to recovery.

Outstanding! Uniquely caring with a wonderful staff. And Dr. Paulina Sergienko who has a well of love for her four-legged patients. You can see it in her demeanor, her eyes focused on the dog; there's communication between them. With the human she is ever so patient giving clear explanations and answering questions posed a thousand times before. Not only, but she reassures and comfort and it is genuine.Since my dog is a recently rescue she, Dr.Sergienko, took it upon herself to intercede on my behalf in obtaining services to be covered by the Rescue organization. She stayed up very late on the eve of the procedure and at the eleventh hour, she received the approval which she then emailed me a confirmation of! Unique and extraordinary!Staff members, from the front desk to the vet techs are all superb in their personal attention to each patient. I was there for quite a while and had the opportunity to observe and what I saw was uniformly one of concern and care and problem-solving.Dr. Evans who performed the surgery on my dog was clear in his explanations after the procedure when he came to see me in the 'cat's room even drawing a diagram of the surgery. Stitches and cone and meds followed. To summarize, no one was uppity or authoritarian; we were able to converse, discuss and request at will.Despite the busy practice it did not feel rushed.I would call it a safe haven- one you can trust 100%.Thank you to everyone, Gratefully-P.S.: We had to return on Saturday as he had a very bad night. We were promptly seen by yet another great doctor. Dr. LeFevre took time to listen and decide on how to proceed. She was very calm and compassionate just what was needed at that moment. I trusted her wholeheartedly and followed her instructions. We went back two days later for a follow up and it seems we are on the right track to healing.Thank you to all the devoted doctors and staff crew! And to Dr. Evans for finding such pearls.

The doctors here are excellent and caring and always follow up. The girls upfront are very helpful and friendly too. Very expensive but thats at every pet clinic it seems. Senior discount for 55 & up if you ask for it.

My new dog -Gabby has been seen for puppy care ( health/ vaccinations)and also spaying . We have received excellent care from Dr Beck at Vca. I am so appreciative of the kind and compassionate care-that we have received. I am very thankful for such a thoughtful , and knowledgeable veterinarian. I would recommend this VCA highly to anyone looking for a good vet.

I've called for a prescription refill four times now. And have never received a call back over the past 10 days. I'm going to another vet. It's just for a flea medication. I would like a callback if I called four times especially.

Having to euthanize our senior cat was really difficult, but the staff at VCA made the process peaceful and caring for both the cat and myself.I really appreciated the special attention that was given to the situation and the tastefully decorated room helped both of us calm down.Thank you.

Not the place to go for spray and neutering. I made an appointment, never received any estimate over phone, showed up and they try to get me to sign a $831.85 - $1,039.81 to neuter one kitten. May be good for some things but after this experience I'll never return to VCA again.

After going to multiple other vets around the SF area and recieving mediocre/ subpar service and a lack of care that my puppy really needed! We couldn't be happier that we found the VCA Animal Care Clinic in San Pablo!!! Dr. Beck and her team were all extraordinary and provided unheard of care and communication. Took care of all of our puppies issues and even helped us save some money along the way!!! I couldnt possibly recommend them more than I already do!!! I won't bring my puppy "Duke" anywhere else from now on!!! If I could have voted more than 5 stars I would have, Duke also gives them a solid 5 paws way up!!!!

Debbie is the a non humanitarian person , lazy, ruthless staff VCA has. My husband didn't want to write a negative review but i am. It feels wrong to not let the community know how this place lacks management skills. Vca has so many negatives reviews it shows management doesn't care negative reviews continue to increase it means no one is doing anything about it. Debbie needs to be a better human being to society it seems she hates her job and is just waiting on her Pay check. I blame management for hiring people with those negative traits. Management needs to be reported too. Which I am. There's always someone higher above that oversees the little people. Everyone has someone to report to. Im sure this review will get tosses to side like the countless other negative reviews on here but my escalation to corporate won't. If anyone wants to report their situation to corporate, they are based in Los Angeles. Here's the phone number (310) 571-6500 also they did 2.1 Billion in revenue in 2015 which is also another reason to be skeptical of what this company tries to charge you during visits. I will only be using them for small routine check visits moving forward and bigger procedures like nursing or surgery's will definitely not be through VCA. Won't be taking my pooch here. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE = NO BUSINESS

My dogs primary vet is in Walnut Creek, and I got tired of making the drive out there, so I was hoping to find a vet who was closer to my home. I read the yelp reviews for VCA San Pablo and I thought they can't be that bad, my dog just needs a little checkup and I need to get his rabies certificate up to date . Oh boy...When I arrived for my dogs 8am appointment there was a sign on the door indicating to call the front desk to be let in to the office. When I dialed the provided number repeatedly I kept getting an error saying 'my call could not be completed'. A few minutes later I flagged down a staff member who was helping another customer in the parking lot and I explained that I called the number on the door and I can't get through to the front desk. She told me to just keep calling and then walked away from me. Finally, almost ten minutes later I'm able to get through to the front desk and check in. We're brought in and put in a room where I wait another 15-20 minutes before we see a doctor. The doctor conducts an annual physical for him and then tells me she detects a little heart murmur. I tell her, none of his previous doctors have ever told me he has an issue with his heart and maybe he's just nervous because he hates the vet. She tells me the only way to be sure is to get a chest x-ray and I should really get one as soon as possible. The chest x-ray + interpretation was estimated between $456 - $571. I decline the x-ray. And, the doctor tells me again I should really have my dogs chest x-rayed as soon as possible because his heart murmur could become worse. I spent maybe an hour at this location and only saw the doctor for 5-10 minutes, the rest of the time was spent waiting.I made an appointment with our regular vet for a second opinion many weeks later, they told me they hear maybe a very faint heart murmur and that I should just keep an eye on him if his behavior changes, but they're not worried. I really should have asked for their prices before bringing my dog here, I hope you don't make the same mistake I did. TLDR; The staff is unhelpful. Their prices are outrageously high. They will try to scare you and tell you that something is wrong with your pet, get a second opinion elsewhere before you commit to anything. I'm so disappointed in this experience, I'll never return to this VCA or any other VCA locations.

The staff and doctors there are kind and compassionate. They diagnosed my little one's thyroid condition which other vets failed to do. He's on medication now and we are working to get his levels balanced.

My 2nd horrible experience with a VCA vet clinic. I am furious with the customer service, laziness, non responsiveness, and blatant disregard for safety at this facility. Found out they had been prescribing my puppy a completely different flea medication from what he originally was taking. They switched his meds without telling me at all. I called with questions and the woman who an answered the phone had a complete attitude and sounded like she hated her job. When I asked why and how this happened she literally said "I don't know, I wasn't working at that time so it has nothing to do with me". Definitely not how you speak to a customer. I called to complained to their manager who did agree that what happened was not okay and was their mistake and she sent her out to apologize to me in person and unfortunately she was not sorry at all. She never apologized and actually told me how I was wrong. (Ha, funny). You don't switch up medications for animals with out telling the client! And I specifically did NOT want my puppy on that particular brand of meds because of the side effects. My dog could have died or had a terrible reaction. It seems they did not care much and took this as a joke. Not to mention getting someone on the phone who is knowledgeable is impossible as they seem to hire anyone with out any experience. I changed vets FAST and found a much better one in Alameda who is the complete opposite! Everyone I know who has pets has had bad experiences with ALL VCA's. They also are very money hungry. On another occasion my puppy was ill and the doctor wanted to do so many tests, many tests that had nothing to do with his illness that would have cost well over $5000. For one test, it was Parvo, in which my dog already had his shots for and definitely did not have Parvo. Even the doctor said there was no chance that he had it, so why still try to make me pay for this unnecessary test??? Because they only care about money. They do not offer any payment plans like other vets either. They don't sit down and try to help you understand any procedures at all, its a quick get in, give me your money, then go. I am now happily with the Marina Vet in Alameda, I've never been treated so well from a vet before, they are amazing! Stay away from VCA!

I have been a client of The Animal Care Clinic since the early 1990's. The shots were $7. On the morning of October 28, 2022, my family discovered that our wonderful dog Chistian, had died in his sleep. I called The Animal Care Clinic to find out when I could bring him in to be cremated. I was told to bring him in at 8:00 am. When I went in and paid for the cremation, I asked about the urn because I wanted a specific type of urn. I wanted the same one that Christian's grandmother and our other pets have. They all came from The Animal Care Clinic. When I described the urn, I was told yes. What I didn't know and was NEVER told, is now when you pay for a cremation, you are sent an email and that is where you make your preferences known. No one told me about an email! Because I didn't know, the company that handled the cremation had no information about what kind of urn to provide. So Christian's ashes came back in one that was the opposite of everything I had specified verbally. I thought that everything could be straightened out with a phone call. Boy, was I so so wrong!!! When I called, I ended up speaking with Angelina. As soon as I started to speak and said the word "Urn," she couldn't dismiss me fast enough. And was very quick to let me know that me receiving the wrong urn had nothing to do with The Animal Care Clinic and there was nothing they could do for me. As I'm trying to explain to her that The Animal Care Clinic took my payment and are legally obligated to act in good faith, she is trying her best to talk over me. It was the most disrespectful and unprofessional encounter I have ever had, with anyone at The Animal Care Clinic. It was bad enough that my family lost a beloved member, but then to have to argue with someone about not receiving what I paid for, and did not receive, was beyond ridiculous!!! If you took my payment you could at least listen to my concerns without rudely over talking me!!! If I decide to sue to get my money back, the SC-100 court form would say Defendant: VCA Animal Care Clinic, bacause thats whats on my credit card statement. Not the company that supplied the urn. When I contacted the company that did the cremation and explained about not being given any information about the email, they were very helpful. IF you choose to use The Animal Care Clinic for cremation purposes, ask questions! Ask specifically about the urn and what will happen if you have any problems, before you pay. Because what I've been through is not what you what to deal with on top of loosing a family member. This was a horrible experience!!! People grieving their fur babies deserve better!!!

After using this clinic for 20 years, having all of my animals come here, having them be Nadia's only vet her entire 16 years, she had a stroke and they couldn't be bothered to see her. I offered to pay double, triple? But no - no appointment now no care. Emergencies can go elsewhere. Well, I need doctors I can trust. I'm now searching for someone new.
