The staff and doctors were immensely kind, knowledgeable, and patient with both me and my dog. They were extremely thorough in assessing my dog and took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. I am so grateful to Dr. Krants and the entire office for taking care of my boy!

I would not recommend this hospital. I brought my sick dog here and two staff persons were so rude that I did not stay —I took my dog to another emergency dog hospital and my dog was hospitalized for two nights. If the screening assistant and manager are disrespectful— well they won’t respect your dog. Beware !

I had a wonderful experience here, even though it was a sad time. Our sweet dog Norma Jean had a serious emergency & tough diagnosis. The staff were so empathetic, gentle and good at explaining what she was going through, and what they recommended. We are so grateful they were open on a Sunday night too. Special thanks to Dr. Luehman & Mary for their respect and kindness.

Our hearts are full of gratitude for the incredible care our dachshund Garnacha received at the this clinic. When she got bitten by a bulldog, which resulted in a deep wound, the team's response on Thanksgiving eve was nothing short of amazing. Despite the holiday rush and them being one of a few ERs open in the Peninsula, they treated Garnacha with such genuine concern, taking the time to walk us through the specifics and providing constant reassurance via phone calls. All the reviews about rude staff look very surprising to me. Yes, they are busy saving animals, and hence being quite concise in their communications, BUT they explain everything in a clear manner. They also DO walk you through the cost estimates and explicitly ask for your verbal consent before proceeding with exams and treatments. They sent us an estimate via email, too, so we could assess the costs beforehand. The attention and expertise they offered during such a stressful time made all the difference. It's evident that they truly care about the well-being of every pet.Garnacha is now healing, thanks to their exceptional care. We can't thank the entire team enough for being there for our family member when she needed it most.Thank you, North Peninsula Vet ER team! ❤️?

I have been to this hospital several times and it has always been excellent. I recently had to go and the service was outstanding. The care and compassion I will never forget.

We brought our lab in after an allergic reaction. The staff was friendly and very professional. Dr. Krantz was very caring and thoroughly educated and reassured us. They took extra precaution by doing an ultrasound without any charge. We received exceptional service all around.

The reception lady was very, very kind even after the overnight work, and the veterinarian lady was very well-handled to support my dog's emergency situation and was very trustworthy. Unfortunately, the unknown lady, maybe she works there, came out and asked us why we were there…She wasn't kind at all which is shocking while in an unsettling situation.…(we were there only to wait for our family from urgent care at midnight…)

If you love your pet, don't go to North Peninsula Veterinary! I took my dog because he had a cough. So he was medicated with medicine to avoid vomiting….and I paid dearly for this. Obviously it didn't solve it because my dog had a cough, so I took it to another veterinarian and he was quickly diagnosed, advised a simple medication and he improved almost immediately. North Peninsula Wrong diagnosis and treatment, long waiting time and high price.

NEVER EVER EVER in a case of an EMERGENCY COME HERE!!!!Horrible service! Horrible front desk and terrible Nurses! one of the worst by far! Money worried ONLY will not provide any info yet want $ first thing!. Aside from the Doc. that somewhat with hesitation answered our questions. I hope not one person ever steps foot here... From the moment we got there to the LAST GOODBYE to my beautiful companion Loki. WORST decision to have stepped foot here. From rushing us to put my dog down to having to put up with horrible customer service and ugly attitude. WORST EXPERIENCE BY FAR. Double think coming to this place. No empathy. HORRIBLE customer service. Nasty attitude

Our Doberman, Goose started vomiting and was refusing food yesterday. Four months ago, she had surgery for a foreign body obstruction, so when she started showing these symptoms, we were worried that she was again obstructed. We headed over to North Pen and the doctors and staff were so great. They got her in right away and took great care of her. There was a radiologist there at the time, so we opted for ultrasound over x-rays. Between that and the bloodwork, everything was done quickly and efficiently. She was not obstructed, Thank Dog! She had enteritis and they were able to give her anti-nausea medications and Sub-Q fluids to help support her while she is on the mend. We were sent home with thorough instructions and everything we need to continue her care at home. The communication was excellent and we left knowing that she had gotten the best treatment possible. I highly recommend North Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic. This was not our first time here, by the way but it is always our first choice for emergency treatment with all of the pets in our care.

My little puppy had surgery this last Thursday 4/20. He seem fine that day, Friday and most of Saturday. He woke me up at around 2 am with very heavy breathing and winning a lot, of course I got worried. Called NPEM and the vet that answered the phone was horrible, I was trying to explain to her what was going on with my dog and she was rude and short with me. She ended un telling me that it was my choice to bring him in and it would be $200 just to be seen. She was not compassionate, seem to me she was more worried about the money than helping my dog. I wasn't worried about the $$ I was worried about my dog.I've had never before had bad experiences at this clinic before, I've always take my fur babies there.Went to SAGE instead, big difference.

We had a Saturday morning emergency with our dog. He was seen immediately and stayed the night for observation. He recovered fully and we wanted to thank Dr. Hovde for being the best and always there for us.

If you care about your pet, don't go here. Drive to Sage Redwood City.Follow-up on 5/15 post contact from the establishment.I am writing in response to your request for more information regarding my recent review on your website. This incident occoured on or around 5/15/2022. While I understand that you were unable to locate my name in your system during the time of my visit, I assure you that the incident I described did indeed take place, and it is disheartening to learn that my experience was not properly documented. To provide you with more detail, my cat, PK, was brought to your clinic due to ingesting a party ribbon. Understandably concerned for his well-being, I trusted your expertise to diagnose and provide appropriate care. However, the series of events that unfolded during our visits left me deeply disappointed and concerned for my pet's welfare.During our initial visit, my cat's condition was diagnosed as a bowel blockage, and we were advised to bring him back home, with the reassurance that the blockage would pass naturally. Unfortunately, his condition worsened significantly over the course of the next day, prompting us to seek urgent veterinary attention once again. On our second visit, we were under the impression that an internal scan would be conducted to gain a better understanding of his condition, followed by the necessary surgical intervention. Regrettably, instead of receiving the promised care, my cat was left unattended in his crate for an extended period. This neglect was distressing to witness, as his discomfort and distress were evident.Shortly after this, on May 17th, 2022 around 11:13 AM PT we received a phone call from your clinic, informing us that you did not have a surgeon available and recommended that we retrieve our cat and seek treatment elsewhere. Upon picking up my cat, it was immediately apparent that he had been left in unsanitary conditions, as he was wet and emanated a strong odor of urine. Furthermore, the fact that the IV bag was still attached without any explanation or instruction was deeply concerning. As a pet owner who entrusted my beloved companion's care to your clinic, it is disheartening to recount the lack of attention, miscommunication, and failure to fulfill promises made regarding the medical care of my cat. I genuinely hope that this isolated incident does not reflect the standard of care provided by your clinic, as every pet deserves compassionate and diligent treatment. In light of these distressing events, I kindly request a thorough investigation into the matter to prevent similar occurrences in the future. I also implore you to consider offering an appropriate resolution for the anguish and suffering that my cat and I endured during this experience.I sincerely hope that you take my concerns seriously and make the necessary improvements to prevent such incidents from happening again. My intention in sharing this review was not to cause harm but to shed light on a disappointing experience and to encourage better practices.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I eagerly await your response.Sincerely,James
