First, a bit of background. Over the past few years, due to the pandemic, I've been holed up at home eating and drinking excessively without exercising, and my weight has skyrocketed. My belly has also puffed up, and since I mostly write code while sitting, I start to have neck & back pain.
Under my girlfriend’s coercion and persuasion, I started looking for personal trainers near the Peninsula. I found that most options were either large gyms offering training courses or personal trainers at regular gyms. However, regular gyms are too crowded for me, and the equipment is unhygienic, so they weren’t an option.
One day, I stumbled upon Wayne’s social media account account and saw that he shared a lot of useful information, including dietary advice. His fitness philosophy resonated with me, and he owns his own studio, which has a good environment and complete equipment. Since it's by appointment only, there are very few people, which fits my needs. This studio is located in downtown San Mateo, and there’s a small parking lot right behind the gym, making it very convenient.
With a try-it-out mindset, I took classes for two months, and the results were remarkably significant. I train every Wednesday and Friday at 8 a.m., with each session lasting an hour. I highly recommend my coach, Mark. He’s a very approachable guy who excels at encouragement-based teaching [doge]. He creates tailored plans for me; I have mobility issues with my left arm and neck, and he focuses on these areas during our sessions, providing me with suggestions for exercises to do at home. Since I’m reluctant to go to a gym, he also teaches me exercises that I can do with just body weight and simple dumbbells or kettlebells. Throughout the course, Mark has been very professional and meticulous, carefully demonstrating each move and correcting my form. He always asks if I have any questions, patiently explaining the muscles targeted by each exercise and its purpose and significance. Overall, after two months, my body fat has significantly decreased, my strength has greatly improved, and my upper body flexibility has also improved quite a bit. I've also learned many specialized exercises that are suitable for me. I highly recommend giving it a try!

I've been going to Morph Fitness for a while now, and it's been a fantastic experience. Wayne is super friendly and made getting started really easy and smooth.
My personal trainer, Amer, is awesome. He knows his stuff, explains why we're doing each exercise, and always listens to any concerns I have. Whether it's about my form or questions about nutrition, he's quick to help out.
My goal was to lose weight and build muscle, and I'm more than happy with the progress I've made. Working out alone was tough for me, but with Amer and the gym's environment, it's actually fun and something I look forward to every week.
If you're looking to get fitter and healthier, I highly recommend this place and working with Amer and Wayne. It's been a great journey!

For years, I struggled with persistent back pain that affected my daily life. It was a constant reminder of my sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical fitness. My upper body strength was almost non-existent. However, my experience with personal training has been nothing short of transformative.
One of the most significant changes I've experienced is the alleviation of my chronic back pain. Wayne tailored a program that focused on strengthening my core and improving my posture. The exercises were designed to target the muscles supporting my spine, which gradually reduced the strain on my back. I can now move more freely and comfortably.
I never imagined I would be able to do a pull-up, but with consistent training and encouragement, I can now proudly say I can complete one! While it might seem like a small achievement to some, for me, it represents the progress I've made in building my upper body strength. Wayne’s expertise in identifying my weaknesses and turning them into strengths has been instrumental in this accomplishment.
One of the most unexpected outcomes of my personal training journey is my newfound love for self workouts. Initially, I relied heavily on Wayne’s guidance, but over time, I gained confidence in my abilities and started incorporating workout routines into my daily life. Exercise has become a routine that I genuinely enjoy, rather than something I felt obligated to do. This shift in mindset has been crucial for maintaining my fitness and continuing my progress outside of training sessions.

From the pictures, obviously there will be positive physical changes, as long as you come in working with Wayne with a can-do mindset. But the best part of this journey is how Wayne has the ability to combine his knowledge on physical and mental wellness, and deep empathy - to truly change your life. This program has helped me break toxic patterns to maintain a balanced lifestyle and healthier mindset. I truly wish I had met Wayne 10 years ago. The past few months have been well worth the investment. A lot of times, we like to reward ourselves with a nice meal or fancy clothes, but this has been the greatest gift I've given myself.

If I could give 1000000 stars I totally would! I focused on improving my mental health and overall health the last few months. Morph Fitness (@morphfitnesssanmateo @waynepasang and Coach Alyssa (shaped_wellness) especially has helped me with the most difficult parts of weight loss which is the beginning phase where I would fall off my diet or didn't feel motivated to continue if I didn't see the scale change. This was the case for the last few years even though I consistently worked out 5x/day. Most importantly, I feel healthier, stronger, I have mental clarity (most of the time ), my clothes fit better, and I am 100% more present as a mom and partner! If you're looking for a lifestyle change or need that push I would definitely recommend Morph Fitness - I've done it all, fad diets, starving myself, working out too much, but at Morph I was able to learn how to live a balanced lifestyle!
