I have been a customer here for years. All the negative reviews are accurate. When I first became a client, they did a great job. That lasted only a couple years.Last year, they told me they submitted my filing, but didn’t actually do it. I caught the mistake and reached out to them. They apologized and submitted my filing (not over a month after they claimed it was done) and I paid penalties for their mistakes.They year prior, they made an error that would have cost me $13000 if I hadn’t reviewed their work and corrected their mistakes.Customer service is abysmal. I have to drive every issue and escalate to get any response. Even then, is stall takes days or often weeks to get replies.I’ve never felt less valued as a customer.I am also concerned that they have made more mistakes than I caught. I don’t know whether it’s apathy, incompetence or a lack of ethics, or a combination of these, but whatever the reason, you should stay away. They won’t even upload the documents for previous years that are missing from their portal.Buyer beware. I don’t think you can choose any worse than DragonTax.—-Update: They uploaded the docs and suddenly found the motivation to respond promptly once I sent them a screenshot of this review and offered to report them to the better business bureau. It’s incredible how something that “might incur a document retrieval fee” and was taking forever was suddenly handled so swiftly. I asked them to also delete my data, which they claimed to have done within a day of receiving the request. At this point, I don’t trust them to follow through on anything, but they claim it’s been done.In my experience this company is expensive, unresponsive, inept, unprofessional, and lacks the attention to detail that is crucial tax preparation.I still would strongly suggest you look elsewhere for your tax preparation needs.

I've been a customer of Dragon Tax for a few years now and have had nothing but great experiences. They respond to emails quickly, are very knowledgable, and have been proactive in helping me with myriad tax and financial situations that have come my way. I struggle to think of what they could have done to make the relationship even better, it's been a truly wonderful experience. Especially in an arena where the risks are so high and the details so important, Dragon Tax delivers!

I would give these people 0 stars if I could. Horrendous. Slowest responses times ever. Seems they respond to me every 6 months. I paid $1k an my last year 2021 taxes haven't even been filed yet and we are now in 2023. I've had everything prepared since last February too. And they had to audacity to call me and leave a message asking me to chat about this coming years tax. A joke.

Dragon tax is slow in response. And what is worse is that they mistakenly paid both my Federal and State tax payment twice in 2021 tax year!!! That's really really bad, now I have to communicate back and forth with my bank and also the IRS to get the payment back. They didn't do their diligent work.
Please think twice if you want to choose their service.

Negative stars. The worst accounting company I've worked with. The were incredibly nice and responsive during the onboarding calls, but everything following was a NIGHTMARE. They pretend to care, they're unresponsive to emails, they make empty promises, miss deadlines, and think an automated messaging system is good communication. Everything is automated to the point where you don't even know who's doing your taxes. You rarely will get to speak with an actual CPA accountant. I literally have to fight to speak with an accountant, which I have not even spoken to one yet to this date. They only send their customer relations guy or receptionist. If you want to speak with a preparer or your bookkeeper, the customer relations guy needs to be there, like a babysitter. It's really bizarre and they're so unprofessional. Call them if you want an unreliable tax company that's unresponsive after you sign up, and never give you updates on your tax status besides "we're working on it" for 3-5 months. Expect everything to take forever, esp if you have a question or need to speak with your accountant (which you probably never will get to actually speak with), expect cold emails and 1-2 week wait times. NO URGENCY with this business.

One of the absolute worst tax preparation firms I’ve ever worked with!They offer decent fees at beginning to pull you in and have you sign engagement letters only not honor their own end of the bargain. They more than double their fees every year. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable, especially their gatekeeper (Christine). It’s an absolute disaster to deal with them andI don’t recommend this firm even to my worst enemy.

They "did" my taxes and I've yet to receive any confirmation that they were completed, no tax return, tho paperwork, and they've completely stopped communication with me. I paid 1000$ to get scammed. Really f***** me. NEVER going back to them. I recommend the same if you're considering them.

One of the worst tax filing company I had dealt with… they are slow in responses, don’t respond to emails and calls. They delayed my payments by so long that I ended up paying fines and penalties on them. Even now my taxes are not filed yet.Update as of Aug 3: The response from the owner is seriously laughable. Nice childish spin to divert their ridiculous cheap and distasteful customer service and tax preparation service onto payments. I received any kind of tax preparation documents only after 4 months, that too after finding their main office number from multiple avenues as they wouldn't lift calls, respond to voice mails or even reply to emails. Tax filers be wary of these guys and stay away from them, I lost so much money on penalties because of delay in filing taxes and relying on these guys is totally avoidable.I onboarded and made payments in March 2022 and I received tax filing documents in end of July 2022. And this guy is audacious enough to even talk about the time and effort they took to review my documents. I'm now scared how bad these guys prepared my taxes.One of the worst companies to even engage with, forget about taxes. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!!!

Terrible customer service. Terrible communication. I submitted my documents in a timely manner and was asked for more documents a few days before the filing deadline. The day of the deadline, I received an email that I had to pay my taxes and that they would be filing an extension on my behalf. After following up consistently at least once a week, cc'ing everyone , I finally decided to give them a call. I was then informed that the person that had been working on my filing had left and that my stuff hadn't been filed due to staffing shortages. They also admitted to plainly forgetting about my filing which was incredibly frustrating because I had been following up with them via email for months. While I can understand the stress of being understaffed, going 0 communication for months isn't how you handle it. Especially because I had already paid the full amount due to them for their services. My quarterly taxes were also not timely filed. My taxes were literally ready to just submit. I ended up getting a call back from Leon, their customer satisfaction guy, and he let me know all this stuff. He also tried to gaslight and blame me for not following up with him earlier. I pointed out that I had actually included him in every single one of my emails which ge had apparently ignored because he had nothing to say to that. At the end of our phone call, he let me know my taxes would be filed by the end of the week. This was a frustrating "solution" in itself because I was an upset client desperate to get my filing submitted and the best he could do was make me wait yet another week. As I had fully expected, , my taxes were not filed on Friday as he had reassured me. I followed up the following Tuesday and received an automated status update email but received no response from Leon or anyone from dragon tax. My partner is still waiting to get his taxes filed but is also being ghosted. Honestly should've just filed my taxes myself or hired H&R Block. As a small business owner, I hired a CPA hoping to have someone to help guide me on this new venture. Instead I had to babysit this company just to be ghosted and gaslit . wasted $1000+ on this terrible company.

The worst service I've ever received. The worst delays. My girlfriend's taxes were forgotten. For anyone reading, yes. They FORGOT ABOUT HER TAXES. Someone was assigned her work, they went on vacation for 2 weeks, I guess they never came back? Her files were dropped, she has been trying to communicate them by email and they let her know (over the phone) that she was forgotten. Wtf. Regarding my taxes, of course, they were delayed and we had to file an extension. They take weeks to reply to your email. Save yourself some trouble and do not use their services.
