Been trying to schedule an appointment for almost a month and getting absolutely no where. Endless back and forth with a broker who won't leave any possible meeting times for me.

Big shoutout to Sunny Yang at San Mateo branch! Seriously, she's hands down one of the best consultants I've ever teamed up with. So, we had this task of shifting some assets over to Schwab from another company. You know how it goes, tons of roadblocks: forms everywhere, notary stuff, and all that jazz. We were making calls left and right to our assigned agent, but they were slow as molasses in January and didn't really help. Enter Sunny Yang – she's the real MVP. She spotted our pending case in the system and reached out, offering her wizard-like assistance. Super responsive, friendly, and total pro vibes. She stepped up and started making requests for us, sending us options, and basically guiding us through the maze. Thanks to her, we managed to sail through the transfer like a breeze. Wwithout her, I'm not even sure we'd have pulled it off.Keep rocking, Sunny! ??

Big fan of Schawb for decades but was disappointed by my recent appointment which I requested to distribute Mother's 401K to siblings as she died recently. I tried to call representative @ San Mateo for at least 30 min, caught in circular auto answering machine, finally getting a human, getting disconnected, back starting call again. Then I have to wait for return email, picked a day, representative had March 1st as Thursday, March 1st is Wednesday.Another email, go to San Mateo Office March 1st with Death certificate, list of my questions, documents in hand. Young woman at reception desk tells me she is who I am meeting with, she takes my death certificate, gives me a business card & tells me estate settlement team will call me..............Miss the old Schawb!!!You could have in person service, call and talk to human at local office. Local office answered the phone, I have used online services for years and appreciate, but sometimes, particularly in the case of death, a real human would be appreciated.

Such a convenient location, and while it was temporarily closed during COVID, it's reopened and open for business. I do try to do most if not all my business on the Schwab app, but it's nice to have this place to go to for more immediate concerns or if there's a problem that needs the attention of a live person. The staff here has always been attentive and knowledgeable and very helpful. I'm a bit ambivalent about the fact that this location also tends to draw an older crowd of Schwab customers, and they invariably seem to be on a much more laid back timetable. So if there's more than one person in front of you, be prepared to wait. Just understand that it's not the staff's fault, and people who are coming in usually have an issue that they couldn't resolve over the phone or online, so their transaction is likely to take more time than usual. It's like going into the bank branch, which I also avoid unless absolutely necessary.

Such terrible customer service at this branch. The greeter was rude, the service representative didn't tell me when he was done and kept me standing in front of the desk.

Came here to see if I was able to get an advisor to convince me to switch to Charles Schwab and/or TDA with more money. After 35 minutes I got to sit with a TDA consultant whom did not give me his contact info but took mine down that would provide more information. Its been 2 months. What a joke - no wonder why you guys got bought out.

In this day and age where everything is online and there's an app for that, it's nice to have a physical location to go to and talk finance with professional people, and Schwab is just that. I've been a Schwab customer for 30 years and have been visiting the San Mateo branch for about 15 years, and have never had an experience that was anything but excellent.

The Schwab trading platform is down again today for the 3rd time this week. Their phone system has crashed for the 2nd time this week. Cannot enter any option or stock trades or reach anyone at their Chairman's team to process a trade. They have not provided any meaningful information about the cause of these ongoing problems.

I inherited some money from my Mother's SJ Schwab account, and was advised by the Executor to open a local Schwab account near home, Burlingame.

This Schwab branch is terrible! They never answer the phone. There's one guy that acts like the "Gate Keeper" who you'll play phone and email tag with named Mark. He might be the only person in the branch? I finally ended up going through Schwab corporate. I have no idea why Schwab has this branch or any other branch for that matter? Next stop Vanguard! They already figured out, you don't need physical branches anymore!!

I have many great experiences with the customer service by chat. No waiting and they always fix my problems quickly.

I don't understand all the negative reviews here about not getting a return phone call or lack of service. I was getting a little annoyed when my consultant kept calling, emailing and texting me. It was to the point where It felt like he was contacting me every other day. Looking back now, I should be grateful because it all started when I called the 800# with some simple questions. Next thing I know, the consultant from the local branch called me with a personal introduction, invited me into the office for some free services which I never took advantage of. I never did meet the consultant but I have been to this branch several times for different things and always had great service. The coffee/ candies in the front is a nice touch. I do have a TD and Etrade account but Schwab is definitely my favorite.

Let's start with the fact that all of the advisors here are men. Not a single female advisor. Then let's move onto how difficult it is to even schedule an appointment. They just try to get you on the phone instead of meeting in person. I'm glad you don't want my business.
