Beware this shop is UNLICENSED. BMK Custom is unlicensed by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). BAR has an open investigation into BMK Custom (Number SJ2023-10404). BMK Custom incorrectly installed TWO transmissions in my 1966 Plymouth Barracuda causing both transmissions to fail and ruining two torque converters. BMK also failed to install a kickdown linkage, which is required for the transmission to shift and function properly. After collecting $15k, my vehicle required towing to a licensed shop for the transmission rebuild. Furthermore, BMK dangerously installed the fuel filter where it could be knocked by any road hazard, installed the right front brake line allowing it to rub on the tire, neglected to install the neutral safety switch, and neglected to install the emergency brake. BMK installed the steering cross member incorrectly allowing it to hit the engine oil pan, and they removed the exhaust after it had been installed by a licensed shop and reinstalled it catawampus. In addition, the exhaust manifold is leaking and needs to be redone. I have invested an extra $8,000 just to UNDO what BMK Custom did to my vehicle. Mike Ledford (owner) refuses to work with me on my concerns.

Mike Ledford, owner of BMK Classic Car Restoration, and his team, did an absolutely AMAZING restoration job on my 1969 Plymouth Fury III 2-Door Red Hardtop. He rebuilt the engine; the transmission; the rear end. He added new radiator, gas tank, brakes, radio heater. He treated underneath the car with a powerful protective substance that will protect the car for decades. This is a 52 year old car that was in storage for 40 years. While it has become Classic Car Show Quality, my main reason for having Mike do the work because this car has very much sentimental value to me and my family. It is the last car of our Beloved Parents. Also, it was used at our Wedding to take us from the Cathedral where the Wedding took place to the Wedding Reception Venue. Mike is an amazing guy. I met him at a Custom Car Show, and we got together. Me car was stored in San Bruno, and the car was taken to San Martin where Mike has his amazing shop. I am happy that i connected with Mike, because he did an outstanding restoration job at a very fair price. My car also has custom show chrome wheels, with white raised letters tires. Mike has restored dozens and dozens of classic cars, and each restoration job is absolutely top quality.Mike is professional, extremely well qualified, meticulous, and his policy is to assure that every job is 100% top quality. I highly recommend Mike and if I ever need additional work done Mike will be the one who does the work even though his shop is 70 miles from where I live. This shop is LEGIT! I can't say enough about Big Mike and the BMK team. Wish we knew about BMK before we bought our 1969 Camaro. My hubby is a car guy but not a mechanic. He was having issues with the new-to-us vintage Camaro and decided that he needed a professional to look at it. Long story short, there was some safety issues and ultimately we decided to do some major work done on it. We are following the work on the BMK Facebook page and can't wait to go for a drive in it when it is complete. We have another antique AMC Javelin - a family car - that needs a new tank and a look over. We were going to do it ourselves but after finding BMK, I trust them to take her in! Very honest, no 'hard sell' and someone you feel good taking your vehicle in to.

I was looking at a 1973 Datsun 240z online, from Canada. I needed a set of eyes for an opinion. I spotted this ad on Craigslist, looked them up, watch a YouTube video and liked what I saw and heard. Mike gave me a straight up opinion which lead me to walk away from the purchase. Amazing guy who I'm sure to do business with.
