During my visit to the store I spent over $1,200. But the service and attitude of the staff was very disrespectful. I got better treatment at the store down the street, Heatherbloom where the linen is of high quality. Johnny Was is mostly synthetic cheap fabric . The items are overrated and the inventory lean. Heatherbloom and other stores have higher end items.

I paid for pants in the store and two weeks later still have not received them. Store clerk not trying very hard, nor is the manager in trying to correct situation. I have spent over $1,200 there and their customer service is abysmal. Headquarters disconnects after holding 15 minutes.

Beware! They do not honor their refund policy. They did not carry my size in the store, so I agreed to have it shipped. When the item did not arrive, they refused to refund me. Store credit is the best they can do "as a courtesy." They will flagrantly violate their own refund policy.

Incorrect hours posted on yelp. Customer service is okay, but if you're familiar with the brand/sizing I prefer to order online.

We had the worst customer service experience in this store today, the 5th of January 2022. My aunt and I went to this location where we bought a jacket in October hoping to exchange it for something else and purchase other items. The sales person who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. She initially said that the jacket can be exchanged, then the RUDE manager (non-white) came out without even acknowledging us and told the sales peraon that it could not be exchanged because it was past the exchange period which understandable but this particular manager did not even have the common decency and courtesy to apologize for the mistake of her subordinate. This so-called manager is not qualified to run this store. She ahould be immediately fired. I am going to escalate this to upper management and make sure this peraon be not working there.

We went to the this store today Jan 5, 2021 hoping we could exchange a jacket my aunt bought for her granddaughter back in October. The sales person who greeted us was very nice and helpful and initially told us we could "exchange" the item Then the rude "Manager" came out and told the sales person that we could not exchange it because the item was past the exchange period.... Understandable ... BUT.. she could've talked to us and explained the situation but she just basically said NO and went right back to the back of the store. This is not how you treat a customer who has spent money in this store. She could have the courtesy to talk to us but the rudeness is palpable... she is probably not having a very nice day, or maybe she didnt get laid last night. DO NOT Patronize this overprized , no style store unless you want to be treated badly by a surly manager.

Although I love Johnny Was, I do not recommend going to the location on Mission Street in San Marino. The Google information showed they were open on Sunday until 4 PM so I bought a lot of friends with me to have a shopping spree there. They were closed!! The sign on the door showed they are closed Sundays. This was very upsetting because they did not even bother to change their store hours on Google. On top of that, when I called, they have a generic answering machine and the voicemail was full. They are very unprofessional. I recommend going to another location. Do not go to the Johnny Was in San Marino.

I gave Johnny Was 5 stars because of the customer service. Great customer service is must wherever you go shopping and the staff here was very welcoming, friendly and genuinely helpful. While shopping for an outfit to wear for a wedding the day of the staff made experience comfortable and accommodating, and bought a beautiful dress. Thanks

A heavenly southwestern store in a heavenly location. The professional, friendly service and the abundant selection alone were worth the trip, let alone the gorgeous street setting it is on

I was helped by Bethany over the phone and for a purchase from this store. I have to say my experience with her was exceptional! Not only was she incredibly helpful, but the package I later received was wrapped with such care it really made me feel special and elevates the Johnny Was brand in my eyes. I ordered masks from Johnny Was on June 28th of this year, confirmed ordered on June 29th and although they have said my ordered was delivered on July 3, IT WAS NOT and of course I cannot get hold of anyone! Nor will they return my phone calls! The poorest run business ever! Damn! And the masks were cute and I wanted them! I've written, I've called several times and left messages all to no avail! Lousy company!

I have a couple clothes from this store. Very good quality and fashion design. They also have many color options. The week after Thanksgiving there is so nice deal that you only pay half of the original price. Recommended!
