Charo is a lovely person and I had hoped I had found my go to alterations person but sadly I was disappointed in the outcome, despite the recommendations from many people. I took my very high end evening gown to Charo for hemming. I told her I had plenty of time, not to rush. I even picked it up several days after it was promised. Unfortunately, it was finished very poorly. The hem was the right length but there were chalk marks left on the black dress, threads everywhere, I even had to fix the hem by hand myself where she had left a couple of inches not sewn. I am still trying to get the chalk marks off! I had really hoped to see an excellent job and would have happily paid more if it would have made a difference. It does seem as if she takes on way more work than she can handle. Sadly, I won't be back.

Charo is a lovely woman. Her work is terrific. However, my items are never ready when she says they will be. She gives me the date for pick up, I don't ever tell her when I need the items, I leave it up to her to tell me when she can have the work done. She doesn't seem to give realistic timeframes of when she'll be done with my tailoring. Over promises and under delivers. I've used her 6-8 times. Every, and I mean EVERY, time has taken a minimum of 2 trips to pick up and the last time FOUR trips. I went the day she told me my stuff would be ready. Store was closed. I went back another day, stuff wasn't ready. She told it will be ready on such & such day. I went back on such & such day and she said, Oh, it won't be back until after 4. I had to go back after 4. I'd recommend using her but just know, you prob won't get your stuff back when she tells you that you will. Super inconvenient.

Charo is amazing!! She is so sweet, helpful, and understanding. I've been going here for a few years now and recommend her to everyone I know. She has bent over backwards multiple times to make sure an item was finished in time for an event. One time she quoted me a fair price, but my finances were tight. After she sensed my hesitation, she showed me how to start the job in my own and then told me to bring the skirt back and she'd finish it for a fraction of the price. I couldn't recommend her more!!

Charo was AMAZING. We ran into issues with our wedding outfits and only recieved them a week before our wedding. My dress was too small, and my husband’s jacket was poorly made and way too big. And this was just before Christmas too! We panicked and luckily found Charo online, and we immediately felt better by her confidence. She is the sweetest and most skilful tailor I have found so far. She did wonders to our outfits (through Christmas!) and we cannot thank her enough. We cannot recommend her enough!! Thank you Charo!!

Oh boy. Where do I begin? To be fair, my deadline was shorter than Charo felt that she could do it in initially. Because she wanted the business, she took on the challenge to finish hemming my dress within a week. I also asked to shorten the sleeves and to add a string in back so I could tie it (the shoulders were a little too wide so it had the potential to fall). As a preface, the dress does not have zippers or much stretch in the waist, so it's not the easiest to take on and off - it's ESPECIALY not easy to take off. I was supposed to pick it up on Friday as the wedding was Saturday, but time caught up and I wasn't able to. Saturday came and I went to the store. She let me know she HADN'T EVEN STARTED... she said it was because her sewing machine would need to be changed out or something because of the material of my dress. I mean, that's fine but it was supposed to be done the day before?? So I leave. She calls me to let me know it was finished. I go back and I put the dress on only to realize the sleeves hadn't been shortened AND there is no string added to the back still! I am starting to get upset at that point and it gets worse as I'm trying to take the dress off. It's also a half hour before I'm supposed to leave and I hadn't done my hair or makeup yet because of this going back and forth. I wait another 15 minutes as she rushes the job. She took $10 off and I paid her... it was just an absolute mess of a situation. I don't get why it hadn't been started at all - like, don't take it on then. I will say, the dress ultimately looked great. I felt great in it. I think she does a good job and I would go to her again if it was just a random piece that I didn't need in a timely manner. However, if you have a job that needs to be done within a week then I would definitely not recommend her.

Just discovered Charo earlier this year, and have been slowly taking most of my items that need a little fix. She is a fantastic tailor at a very reasonable price and I love that she can tell me exactly what will work on the items I have. I've taken a floor length velvet ballgown, jeans, and a thick pleated mini dress. Regardless of the fabric or style, she is very talented!

Charo is a good tailor. She's experienced. I had a long gown and was in need to alter the length. The gown was embellished and liner. She did a wonderful job.

I would not recommend this business!! She had my wedding dress for 3 weeks and did not do any work on it when I went for a scheduled fitting. She also has not worked on my daughter's bridesmaid dress. And she ruined my stepdaughter's dress and I had to buy her another dress. It was a miserable experience 4 weeks before my wedding.

Charo is a master at her craft, from simple hemline fixes to complex/designer dress alterations. Best seamstress in the area and so affordable-- she should be charging more! :)

I recently used Elegance of San Marino to hem several pairs of pants. I called to make drop off arrangements and Charo was very helpful. I dropped off four pairs of pants and they were ready the next day! Excellent quality and value. I will be going back for other alteration needs and highly recommend.
