Every time I trek down here from La Costa I kick myself for not coming more often. It's so far for me, but the prices are just so unbelievable when you have teenagers in the house and have to shop in bulk. I usually need 2 full carts of groceries a week! I can get a huge full cart including meats and incidentals for about $300! When you come bring your own bags, and be prepared to bag your own groceries - fast. Bring help maybe? Also it's cash or debit only, no credit. And Don't make any messes please with the bulk items. Keep a watch on your small children, it's like a huge crowded wherehouse here. Let's not ruin it for everyone and cause them to discontinue things like bulk honey, peanut butter and candy because we can't be responsible. I'm especially happy with the produce section- I have had great luck getting fresh, good quality produce here!

Dislike how you can not make returns from a different location even though it's the same company.

Great prices, selection, and tons of choices. There's a wonderful area where you can buy bulk foods, like flours, cereal, candy, beans, rice, mac and cheese powder, and dried fruit. I highly recommend doing your weekly shopping here.

Today was my first time at this store. Everything was fine the store was Great. We got fresh peanut butter, honey, olive oil etc.. At check out time we had the worst encounter with Joe the cashier . He began to belittle and call me out of my name because we forgot to label some of the items we had gotten like one of the olive oils and some gummy bears. He grabbed the items and stormed off - (Had he said that we would of gladly ran back and put the labels) but no he took a good 5 minutes He began to mumble things under his breathe after he came back and I apologized even after I heard him insulting me. When it came time to pay he was so upset because I accidentally tried to tap my card! Again he began to call me out of my name and that’s when I asked “are you ok,? I’m really sorry you’re having a bad day.” He said “I’m tired of customers not labeling anything and me having to do it for them I’m just so tired of you customer , you don’t even know how to rdo anything right” my partner stepped in and asked if there was á problem ? he told him “yeah what are you gonna do about it? And he just kept going and going about how dumb I was for not knowing how to do anything! And that he didn’t have respect women after my fiancé told him to please have some respect. It was so embarrassing maybe that’s a normal occurrence at Winco but I’m not used to being treated like that that was humiliating. It was truly an accident and then I finally asked another cashier to help us because we weren’t getting anywhere. Talk about ghetto Worst part is I had my 10 year old son. Luckily Lead clerk Christine came and helped out. Manager nowhere in sight. I will be calling corporate.

I recently relocated to San Marcos and needed a good grocery store. By “good” I mean it has to be clean, competitive prices, and I’m big on customer service and satisfaction. They checked all the boxes, then upped it one more by having nice, wide aisles so no clogged traffic lanes like at Food4Less. And clean shopping carts. Wow.
The staff are steadily cleaning and stocking with a rotation of first in, first out. They take the time to say hello and offer help when you need it.
The variety of items is so enormous and the quality of their prepared salads goes beyond what you can get at Olive Garden! Just sayin’. Their prepared Seafood Fettuccine was so good my mom wants it again. I loved the Broccoli and Chicken version myself.
Check out is simple and the store is open 24 hours, as well as employee owned, which means we ARE their success, so they work harder and really give a hoot. Try them and you’ll see why Winco Foods is my go to grocery and hours store now.

Thank you WinCo for the $3.98 sandwich lunch box. That's a great deal. A good size sandwich, chips, two cookies and a chocolate mint for less than $4. It's much appreciated.
