Many times when people give reviews is because they were upset and venting. This is a situation that I want to shout to the world how exceptional the service is at HomeStreet, especially the branch in San Marcos. I have been a business customer for many years with Silvergate Bank who was bought out by HomeStreet. I always worry when there is a change in hands like this but this transition was smooth and my experience with Chris Weissman who is the Branch Manager has been amazing. He listens to the needs my business and truly takes an active role in solutions. That's rare in the world of nameless, faceless banks nowadays. If you're looking for a bank that is going to treat you or your business with great care, I strongly recommend Homestreet Bank as they go above and beyond!.

I strongly advise against attempting to obtain a commercial loan with this bank and working with Keegan Sharp and Jeff Jones. Unfortunately in the process of obtaining a commercial loan with the bank, they decided to close our loan and retain our deposit of over $30,000. We were in the process of completing the loan and instead were blindsided by the bank. The 30,000+ is a huge hit for us but only a drop in the bucket for them. This unfortunately is devastating for our company.

I see that the bank had my review, which was truthful, removed. I would strongly advise against using Homestreet bank for a commercial loan. Any loan for that matter. I attempted to obtain a commercial loan with Homestreet through Kegan Sharp and Jeff James. We were required to make a rate lock deposit of 37,500. During the loan process, Homestreet decided to close the loan and refused to return our deposit. They have acknowledged that there was no fault of ours, but still refuse to return the deposit. They are essentially acting as judge, jury, and executioner. I have reached out to Bill Endresen, their Executive VP, who made the decision, but not surprisingly, he is not returning my calls or emails. This amount of money is a drop in the bank for the money, but devastating for our company. If you do not want to be put in this position, I would keep away from Homestreet.

Needed to make a last minute deposit for a family member overseas. The bank was recently acquired by Homestreet, so their IT isn't fully functional just yet under the new name. Had some complications with the transaction where I needed to access funds from another bank altogether. With the IT not able to manage the transaction, I had to run out to an ATM and then deposit cash. When I returned, the bank had officially closed for the day. I called and spoke to Carole. Since I had just been there, she said, "Go ahead and knock". When I arrived, sure enough, the doors were locked. A quick knock and a smiling Carole opened the door and completed the deposit for me. THANK GOODNESS for their A+ customer service! Truly saved the day! Keep on Yelp'n!
