The school sucks. The consoling office doesn't help someone, nor does the teachers, nurses, or anyone. If your child struggles with mental health issues, don't bring them to this school, it will not help them at all. If I could, I'd give it 0 stars. This school is not suitable for any child to go to.

My brother & I went to this high school for all four years after living on the east coast our whole lives. Boy was it a rude awakening. I have never seen such constant disrespect and negativity being projected by such a large community of people. The counselors are completely selfish and assuming and they offer no help what so ever. The school only supports athletics and no support is given toward the arts unless it's relating to sports ex) band, colorguard, asb, cheer, dance, photography. The math program is terrible and they offer no after school programs for tutoring. The AP program is an absolute s*** show and it's very pathetic that they call themselves a high school. I "graduated" during the Covid year (Class of 2020) and the favoritism was very apparent. First off the valedictorian was not based on academic qualifications like every other school does. No prom was given or anything of that sort. No graduation. Drive thru diploma pick up. What the hell. A right of passage which we waited for our whole lives completely overlooked by a establishment. The worst school in the San Diego area. No redeeming qualities. I would call this San Marcos Prison. Wouldn't send my worst enemy there. Absolutely nothing to offer. The worst place on earth.

Went to a football game tonight. Never got so many dirty, judgmental looks! I heard students making RACIST comments and MAKING FUN of kids with special needs. Saw kids being BULLIES. Very poor manners. I've never been more uncomfortable in my life. And it wasn't just the kids, the adults too!

This high school is better than other high schools in North County, I feel. There are massive amounts of students here so maybe not the best in terms of covid or one-on-one attention, but they have less fights and dangerous things happening than other schools in Escondido and Vista. The teachers here that I have met are all nice and dedicated people, but the one thing I am surprised about is how the students dress. When I was in high school we got in trouble for shorts being too short and spaghetti-strap shirts, but so many kids I see here are wearing literally as little clothing as possible LOL. Overall though I feel the students get a pretty good public education. Even the class sizes for special ed are bigger than other schools though.

I've had three boys go through San Marcos High and they all had great experiences. There were a few lame teachers, but every school has a few. Most were excellent! The counselor, Janet Paul, is the BEST! She goes above and beyond! Best attitude and so helpful. Beautiful campus, lots of activities. Coach Carey and Cowell are awesome basketball coaches! Morello was awesome as a golf coach. They don't put up with bs from the kids which I love! My son got his phone taken away twice and had a Saturday school for tardies! Good! These kids need to be held accountable. Principal is a great communicator! GO KNIGHTS!!!

Hi, my experience at San Marcos high school was awful, a teacher by the name of mr. pluchenick. This man never gave me positive energy he was always negative. When I decided to transfer schools he told me I would never make it in this world and graduate. Welp 2 years later I graduated!!! Suck ittttt. Also this school only cares about money not about it's students ever. Also has a big seagull problem so get ready to get pooped on

Awesome and wholesome for those who volunteer, participate and experience the San Marcos Knight Regiment Marching band! My kids love the band, director and the coaches. Their performances are a sight to see. Recommend those who loves instruments to join.
