The manager at the Pep Boys San Marcos, CA location was absolutely AMAZING!!! She was extremely helpful from the moment I called on the phone to the second I stepped foot into the store. She rolled up her sleeves and fixed my problem (a dead rodent near my battery). It was beyond disgusting and stomach turning and she and her crew handled it like true professionals!! I really appreciate her and her crew!! My alternative was a gas can, a match or a cliff. I don't handle rodents dead or alive, so she saved me and my vehicle. Thank you for your out of this world customer service and support!!!

I dropped off my car to get rotation, balance and alignment of my tires because I got them installed at a different location before I moved - but even though I was told an hour or a couple hours, I showed back up almost a few hours later and my vehicle is not even moved into the bay being worked on.The person at the desk told me she only has two guys and no space to have it brought in and worked on, and that not being a psychic there was no way to know when it would get done - it could be another hour maybe possibly perhaps, but if I had a problem I could just have my keys back and leave.After spending 3 hours of my day waiting to have it done and then expressing that I could wait a bit longer but not expecting to go into the 4th hour and beyond, being responded with an attitude that lacks accountability and courteous service I certainly was given no option but to have to take another day it somewhere else and further invest time/energy/resources again.No drop off and pick up shuttle offer extended either, and first time at this same location I was met with similar unprofessional attitude. Over all including installation, have not been met with a good impression from this franchise at all.

If I could leave no star I would. They have absolutely no communication. The blonde older female wants nothing but to sell sell sell. She is absolutely lost. Financing come first, but they decided to order tires a week in advance and then put them on a 19 y/o truck knowing he could not pay.... Ofc the financing got denied and now they are saying they cannot take the tires they put on and put mine back on. Not even for labor $$. They will not give me my truck until I pay 1500. So I'm out of a vehicle until the check I told them I needed hits. " we will take care of the financing after " hmmmm?

Great team ....great service provided all the time. They always make sure to keep you updated on your car's health and what needs to be done....and they are very reasonable on the cost of repairs.

This place is terrible! Made an appointment and i've never had a worse experience at a auto shop here in San Marcos let alone San Diego County. Blonde hair older woman and a older man with glasses didn't want to assist me with my appointment 2 hours before closing time! Really seemed like the two were already preparing for closing very early in the evening and it's very unfortunate after calling in advance for the appointment and then coming in for that appointment and not receive any help or assistance. Keep in mind both employees did not even try to reschedule or anything in that matter. I definitely do not suggest anyone to this place unless you're looking for a terrible experience. You'll value nothing from this specific pep boys and they should consider who they have working the front desk in the evenings.

Unfortunately I don't recommend you do your breaks at any pep boys, I originally did them in Oceanside and they left my breaks worse than they were before so they sent me to the San Marcos location and they supposedly replaced them but the problem never got solved so to be honest I doubt they ever did anything to them. The last time I took in the car on a Wednesday morning and it was there for 2 days and nothing was done to the car they told me they were looking for the receipt but somehow nothing appeared in their system and they never called me to inform me that they couldn't find it I had to be the one calling them all the time to get an update. Ernie is one of the managers there that helped me out and has the worst customer service as well as Tucker who is above Ernie. I called him more than 2 times and left a voicemail and texted him but never ever heard back from him. Their excuse was that supposedly I never paid for the rear rotors but what's weird is that on my online receipt it shows that I paid for all rotors and all breaks but on their system somehow they say that I never paid for them and what's even worse is that the noise is coming from the front not even the back but thats what they used as an excuse to no longer help me out. So please save yourself the trouble and don't do your breaks at pepboys. By the way I never do reviews this is my first time and the reason for that is because I felt like what I went through no one should go through especially when it comes to the breaks.

I have always gone to Pep Boys for any battery needs, but had never gone for any other reason before. Some recent experiences at other car places made me consider otherwise and I'm so glad I followed those instincts. this location has great management and associates. I felt confident in the information and suggested services provided with a detailed performance check and photos provided. It is a no brainer that I will continue to come to this location for all my other vehicle check up needs.

After being happy to come here and spend $2,500 to have work done, I left with this nagging prompt on my screen that wouldn’t go away.Originally the lady said I’d have to pay for a new usb port, over $300, but when I pointed out “this problem occurred under your care and you didn’t specify it on the inspection report”, she told me to bring it back and it would be “on the house”.I take it in today, come back 2 and a half hours later and they haven’t even begun work in my vehicle. She tells me it will be done right away, and 10 minutes later she says it’s ready.I start the vehicle and immediately see the same notification, bring that up with the lady and she says “take it to a dealer, we didn’t cause that problem”.I don’t believe in 10 minutes anyone replaced a usb port, which they previously said would require pulling out the center console.They got some money from me but they’ll never get another dollar. Not them or any other pep boys. All they had to do was make it right and they had my repeat business.

Went to San Marcos Blvd Branch this morning to get my tires replaced. VERY friendly customer service. Tires were replaced and aligned. Service was quick. Receptionist was so kind and helpful. I definitely recommend this branch. Thank you so much for your awesome service. ? ??

I had a defective tire which blew and shredded while on the freeway. The tow truck brought my car to Pep Boys in San Marcos. I can’t say enough about how kindly the staff treated me. They were not only helpful, but understanding and sympathetic with the situation. I am now a customer and will happily spread the word!
