550 W San Marcos Blvd, San Marcos“I normally don't review hardware stores and I normally do not shop at this location, but I had a real great customer service experience. As soon as I walked in the door, someone greeted me and asked if I need help. I normally don't ask for help but I said I needed some assistance with specific light switches and fan controller. The gentleman who covers that area just happened to be standing next to the greeter. He looked at the switches I brought with me and was able to quickly get me what I needed that they had in stock. He identified that the other switch is not something they carry so he identified the model number and I ordered it from Amazon. He was very helpful and friendly. I ended up buying a few other items and was able to check out with minimal wait. Overall, it was a much better and quicker experience than I expected.”

“Walking into Planter Sam’s shop almost took my breath away. It’s packed with plants whose healthy leaves glisten in many shades of green and yellow. Such a variety of plants and sizes. I was given lots of helpful information on sun, potting and temperature from Sam, her husband and other clerks on my two visits this month. There were lots of pot colors and sizes. I am so glad I had one of the plants repotted for me by staff. The other two smaller ones I did at home but the convenience is well worth the minimal charge. I really like the small macrame hanging I bought to fill in a bare corner. And I picked up a unique birthday card with a garden theme. I’m so glad this lovely small-business is in my San Marcos neighborhood — but it’s easy to get to from anywhere in north county. Value - selection - customer service - easy parking — ALL 5-star.”

“My company has been buying potting mix from Graeme for two years now. We relied on his knowledge and expertise and our customers have been happy ever since. Potting mix is a difficult product to sell. Plants are fickly and conditions such as water, sunlight, and temperature can greatly impact the outcome. When peoples plants die they are quick to blame anyone but themselves. I have been gardening for years and in the beginning I lost most of what I planted. You learn to read your plants and realize every plant has different needs. What we love about Graeme is his consistency and friendly attitude. I would highly recommend his compost, triple ground, and choir mixes. Make sure to tell him what you are planting.”
“Joe has a great selection of kings. Landed on a series of Kings in 20gal pots that will serve as a screen. Delivered to my door. Has many other terrific palms that will require another visit.”
“This is one positive thing about san Marcos! Alberto or "Burt" is somebody who always does such a good job. Very patient with me and my inability to use self checkout. I tried to do the home Depot survey but it kept asking too many personal questions and I just couldn't figure it out so this is the best I can do. I apologize..In closing I want to say SOMEBODY GIVE THAT MAN(ALBERTO) A RAISE!!”

Will definitely be back for future tree/plant needs! Thank you Marty!”

“A female's experience in Home Depot- Most of the employees here were very nice and helpful but I noticed a LOT of them use sarcasm with customers so just be mindful they could be teasing you, not intentionally rude. One employee that was particularly helpful and direct in his communication (a great thing) was Darin in the wood section. He showed me which wood would be best for the project I was doing, plus he cut the wood in the dimensions I needed. I also had help from a nice guy about screws and gloves (spoke very respectfully to me and explained everything so clearly!), and a nice woman who helped with different types of sandpaper and glue. Thank you all! One employee was very disrespectful here though, a man named Charles. I asked him about carpet and he literally laughed. He spoke down to me as if it was ridiculous for me to ask questions about carpet and it was very disrespectful. Do not ask this man for help unless you know exactly what you are buying. In a predominantly male job, men need to learn how to teach women who don't understand things without belittling them. It is very rude. Teach someone instead of making them feel bad.”
