Friendly and helpful staff. Equipment was ready on time, clean, and well maintained. Will definitely rent from San Luis Mini Storage the next time I need a truck or van. It’s unfortunate that so many other reviewers had such a tough time… this place was great for us.

I paid for a truck rental and arrived at the scheduled time to pick up my truck only to find no one in the office and a sign saying they wouldn't be back until 3. My time was 1.

The negative reviews are genuine, and here is another.The person working was incredibly accommodating on the phone when we spoke earlier in the day. We never discussed pricing. When I arrived to rent, info was requested, followed by requests for ID and payment card. My charge didn't authorize, and he showed me an error message on his screen, and that's when I saw a 2 day rental charge for $253. When I expressed that I was expecting something closer to $50 (being as hyperbolic with my question as I felt the $253 charge was), he just bluntly said have a great day and looked at the next guests in the office.I asked if this meant he was done helping me, he said any further conversation would be a waste of his time. He then got up and went out to check in a truck, and as he was getting up, I was getting a business card and verifying his name so I could call this interaction in. I asked his name, and he replied with "Rosco P Coltrane" and walked out. It took me a second to recognize the alias, and then I followed him out while letting him know that I recognized the alias, and that he may need to work on his customer service skills. He followed with some choice words, further reiterating the need for customer service training, at which point I replied with choice words. By this time, he was getting in the customer's rental drop-off, presumably to check fuel and mileage, at which point he flipped me off. LOL, what a childish behavior from something that he escalated so quickly.I visited 2 other locations today, and both of them represented the positive customer service I'm accustomed to seeing. If you can, avoid this location at ALL COSTS. I will update this later to reflect the name of the individual I worked with, if other staff members are more receptive.

Be careful about 2 things. If the engine sounds like an angry elephant, expect to get 6 mpg, and the fuel guage isn't accurate. The newer digital ones are spot on, getting 9 mpg with the 15 footers.Likewise be careful when the contract says you have a 40 gallon tank, I got 32 gallons when the reserve went to zero. The suggested gallons to full can be off by 20% or more. More than once.Last truck had beverage containers, ashes, food particles, flies on the windshield, and regular water in the window washer, so the bugs need to be scrubbed off at the gas station.

I had to ask the guy to stop yelling at me when i asked why there were extra charges on my card than the total I was told. The last uhaul didn’t require you to fill up the tank after because they charged for the miles for that reason. This uhaul charged you per mile for gas and makes you drive extra to a gas station and fill it up on top of that. Feel like I got scammed especially since he didn’t tell me I’d be paying for the gas TWICE on top of the rental charge since all the other uhaul I’ve been to do one OR the other. NOT both and then also not inform the customer about the doubled gas fee. My questions were handled with behavior that’s similar to the 5 year olds I watch. Definitely don’t go here if you don’t want extra charges and extra stress while moving. AND a owner that yells at you if you have any issues with their business

I would NOT recommend you use this Uhaul dealer! I have rented many Uhaul trucks from different dealers in the past and this is the worst location I've ever done business with. The staff is extremely unprofessional and rude!

well that was a mortifying experience! Truck was LATE and hard to find. SO rude and unprofessional I will never return. Needed to move my home gym equipment to my new home but next time i'll just let my husband pay meathead movers to deal with it like he wanted. Also workers not respecting 6ft distance.....no hand sanitizer offered. No mobile pick up offered it wasn't working. run down shamble of a place after I read the other reviews on here I was SHOCKED! YIKES UHAUL SHUT THIS ONE DOWN BAD FOR YOUR WHOLE COMPANY

Just read all the other reviews on here, extremely rude service. It's amazing they are still in business but clearly this will not last much longer. Extremely rude service. Overcharged. Workers not wearing masks. Workers clearly have no idea what they are doing. Two older men driving these little smart cars and just trying to be grumpy at anyone who comes though because well they work at a Uhaul at that age. Really sad. Hope uhaul company can interfere and fix things looks like I wasn't the only one over changed too. Horrible way to run a business truly horrible. Will not be using uhaul again.
