Bubba and I had so much fun checking out this store. He loved the variety of smells, treats and toys and was wagging his tail more than usual! The employees are so kind and gave my dog space to sniff around and also gave him some treats that he loved very much! I appreciate all of the alternative treats here to the normal toxic treats we usually have to watch out for. I like that I can trust that whatever I pick up in the store will be good for my dog. We will be visiting every time we drive by. Thank you for creating a wonderful place for both my dog and me to shop!

This is such a special store. The products are unique, fairly priced and practical. But what really makes this place stand out is the incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff. I visit SLO just 3-4 times per year and make certain to go to Tails each visit. Every time I find something my pups can use or a gift for my cat-loving friends. Highly recommend stopping in. Thank you Tails!

Wonderful fur-babe store! The minute you walk into the store you see a display case of beautifully decorated dog cookies and a wonderful assortment of pup/cat products from jackets, collars and leashes to toys, food and treats! Beautifully displayed. The owner/manager was so kind with his warm greeting and even offered my pup a treat which she absolutely loved! Purchased her favorite treats and are so glad we walked in. Highly recommend this store for your four legged family member(s) and gifts.

Really cute and cool pet store in downtown SLO. We came in to browse and thank ultimately buy our dog his birthday cake. His last birthday cakes/treats, he never really finished them. He demolished his cake, ate every bite. Happy that the dog cakes also don’t spoil easy, you can keep them at room temperature.
Staff was super friendly assisting us.

Small but well stocked pet store. My cat tends to be a bit picky with the toys he'll actually play with, but the person running the shop was able to help me pick a variety of things that might work and they all did. I'm very happy with all my purchases here as is the little monster. Friendly and helpful staff at this shop.

We appreciated the variety of products but weren't huge fans of the gentleman working the store on the day we stopped by. He responded to our genuine questions in a pretty condescending tone. It felt like he kept trying to shove his expertise of "doing this job for a long time" and "having worked as a dog groomer" down our throats. Ironically, we didn't really learn anything from him and walked away after an uncomfortable interaction.

Not from the area but was downtown shopping and had to walk in to see if they have anything unique. This store overall is very unique. They have little birthday cakes for dogs and personalized cookies for dogs. So many enrichment toys and treats I've only seen online but they have it in person. They also had a bunch of cat carrying things which were so cute. We ended up buying our dog two personalized cookies and some CBD treats that they had on the counter.

Im a trainer here in SLO and we have always used Tails as a first stop for dog supplies! We have bought Dozens of slip leads and other miscellaneous dog training items over the years from them! They have an awesome selection for the size of their store!! We also love that they have an adorable baked goods section! Downtown San Luis Obispo has a unique pet store full of treats/baked goods, collars & leashes along with all the top brand pet foods. Tails will sometimes have cats for adoption in the front window. There are training support toys as well as all kinds of interactive games for your furry friend. I bring my dog Linkin there to get his favorite biscuits and he's always welcome to come inside. If you're out wanting to spoil your buddy or simply looking for a simple chew toy, Tails is a wonderful place to start any adventure!
