I've stayed in about 5 different budget motels in SLO and this one was my favorite. Nice convenient downtown area. Rooms were very clean and had good quality comfortable mattresses and pillows. Manager is friendly and helpful.

Great roadside hotel for an overnight stay. During the day you can hear the noise of cars passing by but at night, as car traffic decreases drastically, the noise does not interfere. Everything very clean. Parking space at no additional cost. I had to take the car to go to a restaurant. In fact, in the city, there are several options.

Our room at Sunbeam Motel was very clean and quiet. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Jerry was really nice and accommodating. I definitely recommend! Thank you for a great stay, Jerry!

cons--parking tight for big vehicles, no room phone, no Bible, no fart fan in bath, no HBO that I could find. That's it and who cares. this old school motel is exactly the experience we were looking for and will come back. FYI the money you save on a $75/night take a walk to 1865 restaurant a block down the street

This is a nice little motel operated by a local guy. The room was very nice. I appreciated the wood laminate floor instead of the typical old carpeting, and the small microwave and refrigerator were also nice features. The bed was fresh and very comfortable. Our host was also helpful in suggesting some great options for dinner places in town. There is some construction going on as they rebuild the office, but there was no noise at all, plenty of parking, and no inconvenience. I recommend this place to anyone staying in the SLO area.

This is wonderful place and frankly they can charge a lot more but they don’t and that is the beauty of it.The room is small but perfect. Everything is thought about, the fridge, the microwave, the bedding, the ac, and everything else.Jerry, the owner is extremely nice and accommodating.The location is amazing and close to downtown.The room is clean and well arranged.You will love this place. Friendly and wonderful staff. Super clean rooms, great area. One of the cutest little underated family owned hotels in town. Great for if you are visiting cal poly for any reason. Close to plenty of groceries and convenience stores. Gino's across the street Frank's a bout a block down.

I'm reading through all the reviews and they are very good. This is why I chose to stay here for the weekend in SLO. Upon arrival I realized I made a bad mistake. Ugly, outdated room with a dirty floor that made your feet look black. I will say, everything else looked pretty clean except for the really stanky smell in the bathroom. Source unknown. The curtains were old, filthy, and had pinholes in them that let the light through. The only thing I agree with all the other reviews was the price was cheap. But you get what you pay for! They also charged my card before we got there. Upon check in the front desk guy didn't even check my ID. The room was also hot and stuffy and when you turned the window box fan on you felt like you were in a wind tunnel and the noise deafening.Needless to say, very disappointed. I've stayed in nicer places when I backpacked through Africa 20 years ago! Pay the extra $50 to $75 bucks to stay somewhere decent.

Stayed here for one night. Close to downtown SLO. The reception who I assume is the owner was very friendly, polite and helpful. He put me on to the farmer’s market which was a blast. Pretty decent for what it is - a motel. The room was cute and up to date. I like that my room had wood floors and not carpet. My issues: the bathroom could have been cleaner - the shower curtain was dirty and there were dirt spots in the shower and the sink. I also wish that there was an iron in the room. Nevertheless anyone looking for a low budget option, this motel is a decent choice.
