While the staff is indeed very kind and supportive, I unfortunately felt like I was receiving a very generic program for my ACL rehab. There was little to no assessment of my baseline fitness or strengths or check in on how the exercises were progressing before being assigned new ones which seems to be pretty standard at other PT places I’ve been to. (This is my 3rd ACL repair but the first one being rehabbed here in SLO)

It has been an unfortunate reality that I've experienced many PT locations over the past 5 years. I can say with confidence that SWPT was by far the most impressive in terms of detailed care and attention to progressive recovery. Doug went above and beyond to make sure that I was getting stronger and moving properly. 1 year ago I was in a full-torso body brace every waking hour and this July I'll be climbing Mt. Whitney without a concern. At SWPT you'll get the attention you need. Thank you, Doug and team! I'm forever grateful.

Doug is very knowledgeable and his staff is friendly attentive. I'm not much of a chatter but that didn't halt their being nice. They find the best treatment for your issue. My issue was tough and painful, but I left moving a bit quicker each time. I had gone to a place in Santa Maria and left in more pain. So I was thankful Doug was awesome. Also a lot of my time attending was during Covid and they were above and beyond cleaning and sterilization. So my back issue was the only thing I had to worry about. Only reason I don't see them now is because I moved to Arizona. I would still be going there if I still lived in SLO. Doug and Co. I still keep up with my exercises, thank you guys for everything! I miss the TENS machine too.

Doug & his staff are the best! Very clean facility & high quality care. They are great with scheduling appointments to work with my schedule, too. I am happy to say that Sports & Wellness Physical Therapy has helped me successfully rehab from my knee injury & broken foot. Thank you!!

Doug and the girls have changed my life. The attention he gives to each patient is rarely seen in the health field today. He's very kind and caring. Great atmosphere and staff.

TLDR; If you can afford it, San Luis Sports Therapy is a far better option for your PT. I will not be going back to Sports & Wellness Physical Therapy. My first PT session was at another facility, San Luis Sports Therapy, because they were able to fit me in their schedule the next day amazingly, while there was a considerable wait (and therefore delay in my recovery) at all the others. The issue was San Luis Sports Therapy not part of my insurances network. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience at Sports & Wellness Physical Therapy which was a shame. The level of professionalism and up to date therapy techniques used at San Luis Sports Therapy was FAR superior to Sport & Wellness Physical Therapy. I'm the type of person to often research everything there is to know about what to expect before booking something as important as PT. Doug and his assistance were friendly, but didn't seem to have the most up to date practices for PT, which if I hadn't visited the other PT office I wouldn't have realized were bad practice, and frankly could be detrimental to your recovery. We started with range of motion stretching almost immediately, without any consultation on what my pain points were and what I was trying to achieve during the visit. I was stretched to the point of pain (advised against by most who practice PT) and when I informed him I was feeling pain, he did not let up. I ended up leaving the office more sore then when I came in.
