Tried to get my ipad's power button and volume buttons fixed. Took me 2 weeks to even be able to see, because he doesn't even stay in his office very often even though his hours say he's open. Then when I did see in person off an appointment, he showed up late and I had to wait on the front steps of his office. After this, he charged me $125 to begin ordering the parts he'd need and for labor (reasonable). I decided to keep my ipad and just come back when the parts arrived. He also didn't have me sign any contracts or forms when I paid. Weeks go by of me reaching out and trying to find a time to drop off my ipad to get fixed. He never makes the effort to make things work and soon a month goes by. He still does not check if I'm coming in and I've been calling and texting repeatedly to make time to get my ipad fixed. I then tell him to just refund me the money I had paid him because he's obviously not interested in my business. It's been 2 weeks since I've tried to get a refund, which the merchant agreed to give me. Now I'm just forced to do a chargeback over 2 months after the facts of trying to get my ipad fixed. Terrible communicator and it's pretty obvious he doesn't care about customer service (this was apparent in every interaction I had with him). It's shame that I had my phone fixed here 2 years ago with no issues and now he's stopped caring about his clientele. Don't let his replies to some of these reviews fool you.

Eh. Chris replaced my phone screen twice and everything seemed to be all good. Only the second time he did it suddenly my SIM card was not being recognized whatsoever, leaving my device completely dead in the water. Of course I didn't come to this realization that he had already left my place with my money in his pocket. Even went to my carrier and got a new SIM card to confirm that it was in fact an issue with the phone. He did come back over the following morning, took my phone apart again and then told me he discovered some damage he had neglected to inform me of prior, but promised me he would overnight a part to fix that issue. Yet as of writing this it's been more than two weeks now and every time I've called or texted him, he's either completely ignored my attempt to get in touch with him, or told me that he hasn't received the part still when I did manage to touch base with him. In addition, he seems to have rushed through putting my phone back together on the aforementioned morning, as the backing plate was not entirely secured to the frame of the phone since and has progressively continued to peel away just in the usual handling of the device. He has made absolutely zero effort to reach out to me following his promise to order said part and fix it. And this is after I stressed to him how important having a functioning phone was to him, offered to drive out to him if coming to me is an issue, and even offered to pay him extra (which I shouldn't have to). Had to buy a whole new phone at this point as a result. Leaves me to believe he is only interested in doing things if they are convenient for him I suppose. Not sure what else to make or it. Won't be using him again.

My son is a student at Cal Poly SLO and his phone died. Chris at SMRT Repairs did a free diagnosis but sadly the phone was beyond repair. My son reported quick and professional service. He will go back if he has trouble in the future and will recommend this shop to his friends.
