They have all the books. Though they didn’t have shogun. But that is due to the awesome show on Hulu.

I could spend hours here. It's kind of a chaotic environment organization-wise, but if that's your type of vibe you'll love it. I found several books just by aimlessly walking around. I definitely recommend it.

Every staff member is rude, the unwillingness to help at this store is astonishing. There is no organization, the employees are not informed
Will not be going here again. There is better used book stores out there.

The sheer amount of content packed within this (relatively) small space is astounding. I wouldn't say it is the most efficient or well maintained bookstore on earth, but I genuinely like the eclectic character of Phoenix Books. I imagine bookstores on Diagon Alley would have a similar vibe. If you love books, and love getting a bargain on books, by all means visit Phoenix!

This is my favorite used bookstore. I visit the San Luis Obispo area several times a year, and this is one place I have to visit when I am in town. The store is huge so there are books in every corner and all along the way. There is variety, volumes and varying quality. I can get lost here in a very good way. Only other bookworms can understand. The prices are a real value. Service is like visiting a library. You get help if you need it and ask.

This is a really neat used book store. I could spend hours in here looking through piles (yes, literally piles) of volumes. Also, every time that I have been in the store, they had classical music playing which is very relaxing as you look/read through books.

Stopped through on a trip and I love, love LOVE this kind of bookshop. Stacks upon stacks of treasure to sort through. Prices were reasonable. We didn't have a ton of interaction with the staff personally, but I heard him telling someone else about good places to go and how to get there, which was great to hear.

Phoenix Books on Monterey St in SLO is nothing short of an awesome rainy Saturday hanging in Phoenix's thousands of books, meandering around the isles. The store is two stories of anything and every book imaginable. And, usually, they have a sale shelf. I think for me an obsessive book person and reader- Phoenix is my happy place. Another big perk is...they buy back many books!

I never miss a chance to stop by. It's one of those great, local bookshops... Packed to the brim and overflowing with books new and used in a maze of shelves. Great value and you'll feel like something of an explorer walking through the stacks looking for hidden gems :)

Best little used/new BOOK store in SLO county! Always something new to discover ???
In 1988 when Phoenix Books was on Broad Street I purchased “Out of Africa” still purchasing wonderful books from Evan whose father Bruce
had started Phoenix Books. It has retained its down home atmosphere with very helpful knowledgeable book sellers ???

Love this book store. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. It’s just disorganized enough to really enjoy the hunt for a good book.

My husband and I came here while visiting and I am impressed. I'm sure I could spend hours here just browsing their selection. Books are fairly priced, I bought two books in excellent condition for $15. Staff was very kind when I went to pay. I'll definitely come back on my next trip here.

We always find good books on every visit. The staff are happy and positive with book knowledge. There is something for everyone here, fiction and nonfiction.
