Amazing breakfast!
We were lucky to have Van Gogh room, decorated in Blue and yellow, every detail was well taken care of, super nice. Only downside is the shower water is not stable and also WiFi is a bit slow

Amazing stay at the Petit Soleil - the staff took great care of our family, and provided great advice on dining options. The hotel is well located downtown San Luis, and the rooms are very comfortable. Would 100% recommend.

Staying at the charming and hospitable Petit Soleil felt like a weekend in France! Returning 15 years later to a remodeled and enchanting B & B, we were delighted to enjoy another incredible visit. Close to downtown SLO, lovely décor, delicious homemade breakfast each morning and relaxing happy hours on the garden patio are just a few of the reasons we will continue to stay at Petit Soleil. What truly made our weekend special was the warm and welcoming staff that were attentive and professional. A special shout out to Dante, Daniela and Brian who treated us like family. It feels like home with first class service!

Beware before staying at this hotel. The rooms, property, and service are great; however, the noise from the buses, cars, and train did not allow me to sleep and get a full night's rest. The railroad is located right behind the property, so I can hear and feel the train passing by, especially the loud horn. The road next to the property is under construction and rough, so I could hear all the vehicles passing through, especially if having a room next to the street. They have earplugs and a white noise machine in the room to try to block out the noise. Even with earplugs, I could still hear the noise. Not a quiet area to stay at, which is the only downside. If you plan to stay here ask for a room furthest away from the street.

Great choice for our overnight trip. Enjoyed the patio for aperitif and morning coffee. Easy walk to downtown, delicious breakfast. At first uncertain with location near to busy roads but not bothersome. Peaceful and relaxing stay. Clean, comfy, well appointed, charming. Staff friendly and helpful.

We chose Petit Soleil baaed on Google reviews and we’re happy to say the rave reviews are accurate, We stopped here overnight on a celebration road trip and found ourselves wishing we had more nights here. Management upgraded us to a lovely suite that was sublime. Evening aperitif and breakfast were both delightful. Service was kind, friendly, and efficient. The location was great for walking so we were able to park our car in the lot connected to the property and then stroll all over. We will most definitely be back.

Stayed at the beautifully remodeled Petit Soleil in San Luis Obispo. Thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails, wine and appetizers in the evening and delicious breakfast in the morning all served by their kind and attentive staff. Highly recommend a stay here. We will definitely be back.
Rooms: Beautifully remodeled rooms with comfy beds and a fun mini bar with Petit’s own brand of premixed craft cocktails.
Walkability: Easy to walk in to downtown SLO for dining and shopping or perusing the Thursday night Farmer’s Market.
Food & drinks: Complimentary wine and snacks in the evening and homemade breakfast in the morning were a special treat.

What a beautiful boutique hotel. I stayed here with my family almost 15 years ago and it was such a quaint little place, I came back with my wife and the place seems to be in new ownership and it’s only improved. The hospitality group obviously understands the attention to detail that is required to deliver on a boutique hotel experience in a small town. From the furnishings in the rooms, the uniqueness of the decor, and the beauty and placement of their lighting fixtures and artwork they really impressed. The beds had some of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on and to top it off they had world class cocktails and great beer and wine selection. The proximity to downtown, a great craft coffee shop just down the street and the easy parking were all factors that made this a perfect stay for the weekend. We’ll be back.
Rooms: New fixtures, new shower and beds. Really comfortable size and furniture.
Nearby activities: One of the best coffee shops I’ve been to down the street.
Food & drinks: Can’t say enough about the cocktails and beverages. Top quality.

stayed for a work retreat and wow! i am impressed! the new owners have done such a great job preserving the charm while adding much needed modern touches. where other stays write off certain needs, they’ve embraced and conquer them. as someone who really leans into their makeup bag i was pleasantly surprised to see a cloth in the bathroom with a little note explaining that it is specifically for removing makeup. i can’t tell you how many times i’ve accrued additional charges at previous stays for getting small stains on face towels even after i’ve applied makeup remover and face cleanser. that is just one of the many little details i noticed that proves this b&b really care about the guest. my room was beautiful and i was able to peak at some of the other rooms and they all have their own personal touches. it makes you feel truly like a guest to the establishment and not just a name on a reservation book. the staff is incredible! so kind and accommodating and peaceful, they really do a great job at contributing to the luxurious and calming energy this hotel provides while simultaneously taking calls, making cocktails, serving tables, AND preparing the food. what a bunch of hustlers! the main area is so calming, my colleague even mentioned that it was like having breakfast in a french bistro and i would definitely agree. it is also walking distance to the downtown area so if you want to explore you don’t have to worry about making any arrangements to and from the b&b and even if you did want to, i’m sure the staff would be happy to help. overall, loved it and can’t wait to find another reason to head back up.
Rooms: charming, personalized, updated and modern but not compromising charm
Nearby activities: walked to a distillery where we got to try some local spirits in a guided tasting
Safety: on a quiet little corner with some traffic but felt safe the entire time
Walkability: just a 15 minute walk from the downtown area where all the bars and restaurants and shopping is
Food & drinks: delicious wine, beer, and stirred cocktails. daily menu for healthy delicious bites!
Noteworthy details: kind staff, option for privacy and socializing when in the mood

Stayed at this gorgeous B&B with my coworkers as part of a company retreat. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. The complimentary Breakfast & evening hors-d’oeuvres were delicious. My room personally was elegant yet cozy - also helped that they have a great in room cocktail program! Great location to easily walk to local restaurants, bars, and entertainment within the SLO downtown area. 10/10 would come again!

My husband and I have been coming here since our daughter was at Cal Poly, so about 10 years. We are so happy the new owners have kept the feel of the hotel and such friendly staff. The remodels rooms are comfortable and quieter (new windows maybe?) The breakfasts were delicious as was the wine and appetizers—especially delightful that they still make our favorite spiced nuts (we make them all the time at home from the Petit Soleil cookbook.) We will definitely be back!

Lovely rooms and patios and lounge area, amazing service, especially Julianne and Dante. Julianne in particular was so sweet and accommodating and hustled to help us in a variety of ways on our two night stay. Highly recommend staying here!

I am picky. I came upon Petit Soleil searching for a quaint Inn. My primary one was sold out. I am flabbergasted with the hospitality, the details and the care of the staff here at this hidden jewel. We were 100% comfortable, safe and completely felt like home. I think they've trumped my primary. Yes for Petit Soleil!Dante is a pure angel and can run an Inn like nobody's business. The owners should feel so lucky to have him. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I'll be back very soon.
