“Wonderful small boutique hotel. Love the little personal touches – aperitifs in the afternoon, a lovely breakfast offered in the morning, and amenities in the room like a refrigerator, and a sound machine for sleeping. A quiet place to lay your head after a busy day of sightseeing in town”

“What a magical Time Machine! We stayed in room 136: Swiss Rock. Our toddler loved that we were staying in a ‘cave!’ One drawback of the room? The shower was extremely slippery since the floor was rock. We had to throw down towels to keep from slipping. Also, waking in the middle of the night for a bathroom stroll can be offsetting. Due to the floor being uneven, it feels like you’re intoxicated. I can’t imagine how it would be if you truly were intoxicated!

We got to spend a little bit of time exploring the wonderful Secret Garden. It was a big hit with our toddler. Especially the pond. He also loved the fake bull and wishing fountain.

We ate breakfast at the restaurant. It was delicious, but pricey. My wife ordered an omelette and juice, I ordered a two egg breakfast and coffee, and we ordered toast and juice for our toddler. The bill came to $71.99. As Del ious as it was, that’s a crazy bill for breakfast.

My mother in law thought the room looked ‘old’ via FaceTime, and while understandable, that’s kind of the point. It isn’t mean to be modern. It’s meant to transport one back to a more lavish time. Some might find the bedspread and fixtures gaudy, but I felt like I was staying in a swank seventies hotel. My wife absolutely loved it as well.

For our anniversary, I bought her a slice of their famed pink cake. It was $14 a slice, but it’s hard to argue that it wasn’t worth it! I don’t like cake and even I was impressed! And the slice is humongous!

We are so looking forward to returning when we can stay for more than two nights!”

“My husband, our friends, and I were on vacation in Monterey, and it turned into a disaster. We made a last-minute decision to spend a night in San Luis Obispo before heading back to LA. We ran into some issues while booking the room, but Kara(?I’m sorry that I forgot her name)was incredibly patient, helped us sort everything out , and even held the room for us. By the time we arrived she was already off work, but she had asked David to assist us when we checked in. David was extremely friendly and attentive. I truly feel that the staff at this hotel saved our disastrous trip and gave it the perfect ending. I originally chose this hotel for its stylish design, but it’s the outstanding service that will bring me back again.”

“Surprisingly nice for a Best Western. Reminds me of places we would go in a family vacation for a road trip in the 1980s. Nice hot tub, pool and fire pit area. Customer service was not the greatest. Couldn’t even get a receipt for my stay from the front desk, although my coworkers could (we all booked via a corporate travel agency). Some rooms on higher floors are not elevator accessible so keep that in mind when booking.”

“For $60 a night, I couldn't complain at all, managers are extremely courteous and the tenants were pretty respectful as well. Stayed for 5 days and will definitely be returning to Villa on my next visit.”

“We loved our stay at The Butler! Picked as is dog friendly, and rooms are nice. More of the adult crowd - parking is a bit tight, & limited to first come. There’s some coffee spots and food selections within walking distance, but will probably want a car to go downtown. Nice palette and enjoyed the complimentary wine and desserts!”

“Rooms are a bit bigger than normal rooms. A nice kitchenette. We were traveling with our doodle, the refrigerator made it easier to store her food.

There is a small but grassy area for dogs to do their business.

Tesla EV chargers were the best! So nice to be able to charge like at home.

Complimentary breakfast is always a plus. A nice simple selection of breakfast choices.

We would definitely stay here again.”

“For the special dedicated hard working women and men that covers the night shift on the kiosk. I wanted to thank you all but to my favorite person on there. Big shout out to Amy. Very hard worker and dedicated to fulfilling her customer needs as asked, very different. Keep up the good work I'm a fan.

“We loved it here! The place is fantastic. We were leaving early in the morning and the host made us breakfast burritos and fruit cups that we could prepare ourselves in the morning. We had a wonderful, peaceful, quiet stay and a beautiful home!”

“We recently stayed at SLO Brew Lofts for our wedding weekend at The Carrisa (right downstairs!), and it was the perfect home base for our celebrations. While the price tag might give you a pause, let me tell you, it's absolutely worth it!

Here's why SLO Brew Lofts stole a piece of our hearts:

Boutique Charm: The vibe is undeniably chic and boho, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. It felt like a luxurious stay in a friend's stylish apartment.
Cleanliness A+: The loft was spotless and beautifully maintained. It felt fresh and comfortable, perfect for unwinding after a day of wedding festivities.
Convenience King: Location, location, location! Being right next door to The Carrisa was incredibly convenient, especially for those last-minute touches. Plus, exploring downtown SLO was a breeze.
Parking Solved (Almost): Street parking can be tricky, but SLO Brew Lofts provides complimentary parking passes, taking the stress out of finding a spot.
Stacia Saves the Day: Huge shoutout to Stacia, the property manager! When we accidentally locked ourselves on the rooftop (don't ask!), Stacia answered our call immediately and helped us out in a flash. Now that's top-notch service!
If you're looking for a stylish, comfortable, and centrally located place to stay while soaking in all that San Luis Obispo has to offer, then look no further than SLO Brew Lofts. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience the best of downtown SLO!

“We arrived in SLO around 1am; most other hotels were booked. The ones that didn’t tried charging bs “late checkin” or “past midnight” checkin fees that essentially forced us to book 2 nights.

The staff at Hotel Buena Vista were straightforward, gave us a fair price, and the room we got was clean and didn’t smell like smoke. We checked out the next day a few minutes late and had no problems.

Great staff, clean rooms. Great experience and I would recommend to anyone, especially looking for a room in a pinch.”

“This hotel is a walk away from downtown San Luis Obispo and close to Cal Poly SLO. The hotel and room decorations are a nod to its' location very near the campus of Cal Poly SLO with many school and dorm room themes. There is a nice pool on the property. The fitness center is very small. One elliptical, one peleton bike and one treadmill. There is a very large bathroom inside the fitness center (fitness center space very small, bathroom space very large...?). This definitely does have a nice location. The first room we were given smelt like cigarette smoke even though this is a non smoking hotel. While we were walking to the second room we were given, the hallway smelled of marijuana smoke. The second room was just fine.

Nearby activities: The Cal Poly SLO campus is close by and downtown San Luis Obispo is about a 10 to 12 minute walk down Monterey from the hotel. There are bicycles to rent too.

Walkability: Park your car at the hotel ($10 parking) and it's a nice walk to downtown SLO.”

“Cute grounds. Cute room. Some of the carpeted floor in the room was wet, otherwise I'd have given room 5 stars.

Asked front desk if I could have a few extra minutes for check out (like 20 minutes) because wanted to grab a bite of breakfast at the Apple Inn restaurant before we headed out, and they understaffed the restaurant with just one cook and everything was delayed, front desk said NOPE.

I mean, 20 minutes wasn't going to have an impact. Anyway. Had to have kiddos wait in restaurant alone while I pack everything up.

There were a few other minor let downs re standard cust service, minor, but overall a cute place.”

“Great service and rooms were adequate. The rooms weren't bad, but could use some updates. They were clean and comfortable. Service was very professional. No breakfast included here but the breakfast sandwich from the lobby cafe was excellent. Good place to stay.”

“We stay at this motel once a year for a special event. The rooms are basic...nothing special. The staff are really pretty cool. The best part about this motel is the location. You can easily walk to downtown shops and restaurants within minutes. The rooms might not be anything amazing but I have never had a problem with cleanliness or bugs or anything of that sort.Rooms: They do offer select options and my preferred is with two beds separated like a suite. They do have limited amounts of these available.Nearby activities: Irish pub right down the street. 24 hr gas station across the street and also a bakery.Safety: Never had anything broken into. I have left my car in the back parking lot and even on the side street with no problemsWalkability: Just about anything you could want close by. I will say as a reminder to people that San Luis shuts down most food places pretty early compared to other cities. One of the only 24 hr options is a McDonald's down the road a bit.”

“I had the pleasure of staying at the Lamplighter Inn & Suites in San Luis Obispo. I had family in town visiting about two weeks ago and needed to obtain a hotel room for myself to stay in. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends!Rooms: Nicely appointed and very cleanWalkability: Near Downtown SLO”

“My husband and I took a spontaneous trip to Morro Bay and stopped by the motel six first but they wanted $200 for a one night stay so we booked a last minute room in San Luis At the Homestead. For $95 beggars can’t be choosers. It’s true that this place needs to be fixed up a little but I found it to be charming. The lady at the front desk gladly let us check in an hour early and gave us extra towels. There was a microwave and small fridge and cable tv and WiFi. This place isn’t gonna be like checking into a Quality Inn or even a Motel 6, but it’s a pretty nice place to stay, especially if you’re traveling on a budget. I enjoyed myself and would come back again.”

“WAIT A MINUTE... HANG ON...Did I book a room at the SANDS INN & SUITES or the RITZ CARLTON?As you might imagine given that this review is posted on the Google Maps page for the Sands Inn & Suites, I didn't book a room at the Ritz Carlton. My stay at the Sands was impeccable. I wouldn't trade my experience here for anything in the world...except maybe A MILLION DOLLARS. Other than that, I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING.”
