The room was clean and the staff were very courteous and professional. We stayed in room 263. Apparently there is some type of utility or staff service room above it and there is loud thumping and banging starting at 5am! No guest should ever be placed in this room.

I have a hard time giving this hotel a great review, even though there were a lot of great things about the room and the hotel itself, for the simple matter that they _only_ allow valet parking on their site, and the public parking across the street doesn't have any way to let you pay for overnight parking (thanks to a new system installed recently by the city of SLO, apparently buggy). Luckily, the public parking lot on the next block was still on the old ticket system, so we had a place to park.I do not use valet parking, and find it offensive that this hotel forces people to do so. I have had a car stolen from valet parking (from a restaurant in LA), and have had a car damaged by valets (another restaurant in LA). The ticket that you get for your car, which usually reads something like "this ticket limits our liability", is not kidding - in the case of the car theft, when taken to court, the valet company was found not liable for the loss of the car, even though they also no longer had the keys for it either. No valets for me! I can park my own car, thank you very much. It's a shame - the room was very nice and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the location was good. But I won't be staying here again if they don't allow onsite self-parking. I was on a long trip and chose this hotel for the EV charging, which of course I could not use because of being forced to use valets.

We went to the High Bar on the rooftop of the Hotel SLO and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We had a party of 8 for drinks and dinner and they seated us at a long table, though they have a variety of seating options available for any type of party. We had delicious Asian food and one pizza- also yummy. Service was good and they kept our water filled at the table, also. Fabulous views, heaters and beautiful setting right downtown. Will definitely returnFood & drinks: A variety of pizzas and some Asian foods were on the menu, which changes periodically according to my daughter. All had the Asian food but one and all enjoyed it! Pizza was also good

I love the availability of espresso in the room and balconies. The common areas and service is great. I didn't care for the modern hotel. It has a very cold feeling to me.

I stay in hotels for a living and have pretty strong opinions about what makes a good hotel so when I say I’m impressed with a hotel then they’ve done a very good job. I have a few critiques, but they are very minor & would not prevent me from staying here again. The great:It’s a smaller hotel, but every room level has an ice machine PLUS flat or sparkling water on tap for your convenience. Amazing. They put bottles of filtered water in your room mini fridge so it’s nice and cold and refillable! They make water access easy and then elevate it.The rooms are cute, love having a balcony, the roof top bar has great views, some entertainment & lots of seating. I only dined at one restaurant, but the portions were massive & it was really good! They offer live music out by the pool & some nice outdoor seating. Even the stairwell is nicely decorated which is a first. It’s a smaller hotel & there’s only one elevator so many people use the stairs! The hotel has nice wide hallways, lots of windows and a great location. House keeping comes TWICE a day! ??The rooms have lots of lighting and while the lighting control can be annoying when you’re trying to figure them out it is really great to have overhead lighting in a hotel, that’s so rare AND it’s all dimmable! ??. They have a great Bluetooth speaker for use in your room (yellow light means it’s on, blue light means it’s off, just to save you some headache). They have automatic window shades on the windows and complimentary snacks in the drawers, PLUS a nespresso! ??I liked all the soaps, the makeup towel, robes & slippers, makeup remover towelettes and the other bathroom amenities that are rare, like facial pads, q-tips and cotton balls! The not so great:The hotel can be quiet loud, you can hear people in the hallways if they are “having fun” pretty easily and the street noise can be quiet loud too. Use that awesome boothtooth speaker to play some white noise or whatever you’re into and you’ll be happy as a clam! The balcony doors have shutters and while I really enjoyed them, as opposed to the typical gross curtains I usually see, I didn’t love them as much at night. I adjusted them as much as I could to block as much light as possible, but I faced the parking garage and those lights don’t have any chill. So pitch black with shutters is not possible like it is with blackout curtains. You also have to line them up juuuust right to make sure there are no peep hole gaps on the side and that the door is completely covered. The only manual lights are the bedside lamps and it’s not an obvious switch. I spent an epic amount of time trying to figure out which switch turned them off. Finally calling the front desk for help. The sofa is extremely uncomfortable and it looks like it could be laid flat to become another bed, but oh man that would not be a great bed at all! Hopefully they provide some sort of pad for it! Keep that in mind if you plan to pack it into a room! The shower (no tub) is designed with the recently popular stationary half door design. That said, they did a real disservice to us when they installed a fixed door and then put the shower operation knob on that far interior wall right under the shower head. You have to reach in and get hit with the cold water while trying to turn the knob all the way to hot. Hopefully you don’t make it too hot or you’ll be scalded while trying to reach in and adjust it to the temp you want. Overall the design feels like it wasn’t thought through with guests in mind. The gym is adequate, with some good equipment. Bless them for having some sort of leg machine not many hotels do. The automatic lights are annoying when I’m on the corner bike for a long time and they just shut off. I have to stop my ride and get up to get them back on. They have a water fountain in there which feels like a cost savings decision compared to other hotels, but at least it has a water bottle filler attached and it was cold!Overall, it’s a great hotel operated by a small chain and the staff is nice!

Top notch service, Very large, luxurious rooms. They also have a very vibrant, happening vibe on rooftop bar and lobby lounge. Definitely feels like "the place to be" in SLO

Great service, excellent food, and nice scenery fun the rooftop. I love seeing Dante Marsh play there, the a central coast favorite!I'm truly impressed with the bar staff in the rooftop, mostly one guy holding the fort down during a large group event held there. And, many other patrons there as well.

The hotel itself is GORGEOUS - from the moment we drove up to the entrance, were greeted with the friendly and helpful valet team; check in and check out was easy and welcoming (Paige and Emma!); our daily cappuccinos were not only delicious, but crafted with a smile (Shelby!); the rooftop deck at which we dined and drank at each night to catch the STUNNING SUNSET was very special; the concierge (Anne reached out to me BEFORE I arrived to offer any support needed - and Kelly helped me craft one of the most refreshing and exhilarating days of my life @ Morro Bay!) … this is a GEM!! Well done, dream team of Hotel SLO! Counting the days until we have the opportunity - and good pleasure! - to return.

I recently stayed at Hotel San Luis Obispo during a wine adventure in the region. The hotel was a great choice, with upscale amenities and top-notch service. The staff was attentive and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The staff members Kirstin, Kiana, and the two Andrews went out of their way to help me and my friends. They even gave me complimentary drinks and recommendations for food and wine choices. The Paseo Villa room I stayed in had a stunning view of the San Luis Obispo mountains. It was spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a quick trip. I also appreciated the valet parking service, which was convenient and hassle-free, priced at $21 for hotel guests. I didn't have to worry about parking the rental car and could come and go as I pleased. The nearby public parking is $15 per night but has no in-and-out privileges. The hotel has diverse dining options, with two full bars and two restaurants, so there's something for everyone. I had a delicious dinner at the Piadina and ordered the wild-caught Pacific swordfish.I highly recommend Hotel San Luis Obispo to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing place to stay.

This hotel is so cute. The service was great. I loved the balcony and everything about the room, except for the pillows. The bedding can use some improvements, but other than that it was a great stay. I especially loved the still and sparkling water dispenser on our floor near the ice machine. That was a huge plus. I also liked the outdoor dining areas. The spa was very small. My massage service was great but the spa amenities could be better. I would definitely stay again.

OK. This is a nice hotel. Stayed here on new years. Wasn’t a bad price. Rooms were clean and new. Staff are great. But this spring pricing is INSANE. We just stayed in Manhattan overlooking Central Park on the weekend and it was less then this place. You’re not the Ritz Carlton. Hope you’re full May 5-8 because we’re staying elsewhere based on your extortionate pricing.

They do not allow cats but allow dogs and when I called in to ask why, the front desk first said that its due to issues with allergies which didn't really make sense and then they called me back to say they don't have to explain their policies and I don't have to stay at the hotel and choose another place. One of the worst customer service I've experienced with hotel staff.
