“Love the Hemp Shack. The owner makes the CBD, with lots of strengths and flavors to choose from. I get CBD for myself and my pets, and I can easily see improvement in my older animals.”
“The sweetest shop in downtown SLO! I have adored this shop for years and years. They are a store you can feel good about purchasing from as everything they carry supports fair trade (fair compensation) practices from artisans all over the world. They have such a large selection. The store also has the best window displays throughout the year! It's such a treat to shop here. <3”
“Junkgirls is such a fun spot! The store is clean, well-organized, and filled with an engaging selection of unique, retro-inspired items that make you want to explore every corner. The staff is super nice and helpful, adding to the friendly vibe of the place. Plus, the retro atmosphere is perfectly complemented by the great music they play, making it a shop you’ll want to linger in. Definitely a must-visit if you love cool, quirky finds!”
“I recently visited 5 and Below located at Madonna Plaza and when I went to check out I was greeted by a very professional and friendly employee by the name of John. He demonstrated outstanding customer service as well as providing helpful information such as, promotional items like the winter check out bags that were really trendy for the season. John also was considerate enough to ask another customer if she was willing to utilize another check out register since she was paying with card and I was paying with cash. John was very accommodating as well as respectful not just to myself but also to other customers. Thank you John for such an amazing experience.”
“Beautifully curated botanical garden and additional children's/kitchen garden. Also, sizeable hiking trails behind the gardens that expands into the future garden plans. The several trails include lovely vistas of the San Luis Obispo area and several of the Nine Sisters (ancient volcanoes).”

“This shop was a lovely surprise on a trip up to Northern California. Stopped in SLO for lunch and happened to walk into this shop. My favorite stores are always unique, women owned, small businesses that have special small brands and designers, and this was exactly it! Women designers, all unique and special jewelry as well as an assortment of other gifts. They have a huge range of prices to meet various budgets, and there is something for everyone. Piece after piece was incredibly stunning and I am obsessed with their selection. I plan on stopping here every time I drive through SLO as well as ordering on their website!”
“Stopped in while driving through town to pick up some merchandise as our current stuff is getting worn down. Moved to a new larger location which was done really nicely. Plenty of selection. They unfortunately didn't have exactly what I was looking for - architecture t shirt not in my size - but I grabbed something else that was just as nice. The staff greeted us when we came in and the check out process was quick. The pricing always hurts but it's as expected being that it's official Cal Poly clothing. Will return for sure.”
“My favorite shop in downtown. A cool mix of Western-style goods and vintage finds. The old school Atascadero High, Paso Robles High, and Templeton High gear on the walls made for great classic decor, and the FFA jackets from local chapters added to the mom-and-pop charm. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the store was full of gems. A must-visit if you’re into unique, nostalgic pieces.”
